| WASHINGTON — President Obama yesterday announced he’s jetting off on a victory lap around Southeast Asia, despite a new government report warning the Jan. 1 fiscal cliff will plunge the US into a recession and drive the unemployment rate up to 9.1 percent. Obama and Congress have just 52 days to reach a deal to avoid sailing off that precipice, when a devastating double whammy of tax hikes and budget cuts will rock the economy and hit just about every American. The negotiations will be difficult. Obama signaled he’s sticking to his demand for raising taxes

Why the surprise? This most corrupt-anti-Israel-anti-American "president" in the history of this once great Country is now free to do anything he wants without having to consider whether it will cost him an election. As the late great Jim Morrison sang, "This is the end"... of America as we have known it. IF 3,000,000 Republicans actually stayed home on Tuesday, they deserve the lion's share of credit for what is going to happen to the U.S. now that obama and his leftist-thug-administration have full reign! God Help this Country!

The real president, Valarie Jarrett, will be left here to deal with the suicide jump while he and Michelle and Reggie Love take the victory tour. Jarrett has already said Obama will be spending much less time in Washington this term.
God help us!!!

We need to grab a limb and let this poor sick Republic go over the fiscal cliff, then we can sort through the rubble and forge a new beginning. The current kabuki dance being performed by all these fool politicians will go nowhere and will eventually result in the same end. The alternatives are to take our blows now and begin rebuilding or suffer a slow painful death.
As for Obama, he's doing what he always does in a crisis . . . hiding in the corner or skipping town until somebody else takes action.

CBO statement at end of article:
America’s gross domestic product would grow by 2.2 percent if the Bush-era tax rates are extended and by nearly 3 percent if Obama’s payroll tax cut and extra long-term unemployment benefits are extended, the report predicted.
The unemployment benefits haven't worked and in fact are keeping some unemployed. If the Dims are this stupid the GOP should simply shut up and let them lead. Let the misery get really bad and the Dims will propose a solution.

Looks like obama is running for world runner. Starting with the country that raised him...his mindset is foreign and it shows right up front. He'll make a "lying speech today" and then he'll leave the folks of New York and New Jersey to shift for themselves.
Oh well -- the republicans should wait for the reid/rod of the demorattic senate to offer a plan. Let the demorats do the heavy lifting....Any way you cut this -- it's Bush's fault.
On a positive note: The liar is out of OUR country. God willing with him gone things will settle down... Perhaps the demorats in the house and senate will wake up and cut him off at the ankles.... One can hope!! OR perhaps hillary's folk will take the opportunity to gain some ground. While the cat's away -------

Oh, Bammy will never be done, he can sign an executive order and make himself President forever. I urge everyone to email Speaker Bohner and urge him to let the economy collapse. This president is one of the 47% who believe government owes them. He will not change because he deserves whatever he wants. After all, he won. Just like the last four years he will be missing in action. Work is beneath him. The campaign took a lot out of him and it is time for a little R&R. He cares about the state of the economy as much as he did our people in Benghazi. Our job is to jeep the perks coming. I hate to admit it but I loathe the people who put him in office. Mitt would have been up and running already looking to solve the problems we face. Obama just runs away.

The reason that Obama will be spending less time in the WH as he will be busy visiting other countries to put in place the world government. The UN small arms treaty is back the day after he was re-elected. This is just the beginning.

#10 and #15, That's Cloward and Piven right down the line. Let the economy completely collapse. When this happens and with the UN gun control/arms treaty by EO, they think it will be easy to subdue US. After all the Homeland Security bought one billion rounds of hollow points. And the Social Security Administration, (Whaaaat!) bought almost two hundred thousand hollow points. Not even the military until 2010(?) approved hollow points but in limited situations.
I've got news for hussein and his brown shirts. The Revolutionary War was won primarily by guerrilla warfare with a colonial soldier fighting from behind every tree and the British advancing in bright red columns and phalanxes. This might get ugly.
Just remember Cloward and Piven. The plan is on the move.

I have to get into this conversation with #10,#15 & #19. If we don't crash now those 3 million Republicans,Johnson voters & pastors & priests will never wake up to what is needed for a new beginning. During the War Between the States(prefered label),WWI & WWII there was more spiritual awakening than ever before in our Republic. That is what is wrong with our nation & so many schools are not teaching Founding Father principles & we just might go down if Israel is not protected. Too many Americans are preoccupied with "stuff" including some conservatives. Would love to go to a party with the Ldotters from election night - it would be a blast!

Now they when the 99 weeks runs out, they get checks for life, b/c SSI doesn't run out. America. Vhadda country!

Re # 13, Boehner and McConnell our only leaders as we mill and you want pure hard right conservatism delivered? Eating our own only keeps the bleeding going IMO.
We need to find common ground. No Jon Huntsman, Mormon but not Mormonized by the media because he was no threat to the commielougues.
You have seen the heart of Mormon Mitt and he is not so prideful as to be driven to suicide, but piling on is nullifying of his good things. Capitalism but get rid of Reagan's CEO at the top.
More succinctly, no more Mormons in the top slot because some just will not vote for one (kudos to the ones who could see past religion/politics mix)Mormons will vote for a hard right religious fundamentalist if they have the capitalist R behind their name.
But a better choice is a Paul Ryan whom the M-word's fell in love with. Political realities and the big tent cooperating is our only hope. And get the Tea Party to unite under one semi-moderate leader that we can all follow. IMO.

The American voters chose fiscal suicide on Tuesday. Let the country go off the fiscal cliff. This is not the problem of the Republicans. Let Obama deal with the consequences. Let people feel the full effect of tax increases across the board and sequestration cuts. Who really cares? The American people didn´t care on Tuesday. They voted for the entitlement/freebie state to continue without paying for it. Let them eat cliff!

Nurses treating Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev say their natural inclination toward compassion makes it difficult to see the 19-year-old as a possible terrorist. And they have to make concerted effort — and buddy-system pacts — to keep from referring to him with terms of endearment such as “hon.” One 29-year-old nurse said on Gawker: “When you’re in the room, it’s just a patient. You’re here to … make sure they’re feeling better. When you step away, you take it in. I am compassionate, that’s what we do. But should I be? The rest of the world hates him right now.”

PORTLAND, Ore.—In the 1950s, after health authorities began fluoridating U.S. water supplies, they faced opposition from groups like the John Birch Society, which called it "an unconstitutional mass medication of the public." Sixty years later, the fight over fluoridation has erupted in Portland, where the battle has drawn in the city´s craft-beer brewers, organic-food purveyors and environmentalists. Even some of the city´s famed indie-rock musicians are taking sides. The debate has prompted something of an existential crisis in this self-consciously liberal city, which votes Tuesday on whether to overturn the city council´s 2012 decision to fluoridate.

I first saw the headline early Tuesday on Real Clear Politics, a political news site where I generally start my morning. It´s not where I expect to see a story on breast cancer. Then I checked my e-mail messages -- they all seemed to be about Angelina Jolie´s op-ed. Students in my undergraduate class wanted to discuss it in our next session. Colleagues expressed concern and wondered what the right response was. People I don´t even know sent e-mails. One, from a research fellow at the International Agency for Research on Cancer, nicely summed up the general concern:

The late columnist William Safire once said that a good clue that someone in Washington was engaged in “an artful dodge,” i.e., a cover-up, was that they used the phrase “mistakes were made.” Safire defined it as a “passive-evasive way of acknowledging error while distancing the speaker from responsibility for it.” The phrase became infamous when both Richard Nixon and Ron Ziegler, his press secretary, deployed it to explain away Watergate without explaining who did what and when or whether any ill motive was involved. Astonishingly, the Internal Revenue Service resurrected the Nixonian expression within hours

Just when you think the news surrounding Obamagate cannot get any worse, it does. Some say U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s days on the job are numbered and that it’s just a matter of when he’ll be forced to resign. While I’ll not shed a tear over Holder’s departure, one of the replacement names being floated has me reaching for tissues: Gov. Deval Patrick. Patrick has denied he’s interested — but the job isn’t on offer yet. If it is, President Obama should not select him nor should he be confirmed by the Senate for a plethora of reasons.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.
