Iran fired at unarmed
US drone, Pentagon says

Fox News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 11/8/2012 2:42:43 PM

Iran fired on an unarmed U.S. drone last week as it was hovering in international airspace, the Pentagon announced Thursday. Spokesman George Little said the incident occurred Nov. 1 at 4:50 a.m. ET. He said the unarmed, unmanned drone was conducting "routine surveillance" over the Persian Gulf when it was "intercepted" by Iran. He said the MQ1 Predator drone, which was not hit, was not in Iranian airspace. (Snip) Little stressed that the drone was flying 16 nautical miles off the coast of Kuwait in international waters, and never entered the 12-mile limit that would constitute Iranian territory.

Comments:
The only reason we are hearing about this now is that the news broke and the Pentagon was forced to go public. Damage control before Obama's election.

Nice timing on hearing about this. Everything to protect the election of the Won. Nothing in the MSM (only Drudge) about Russians nuclear subs off the east coast a few weeks ago or in the Gulf of Mexico this spring. I hope all of the idiots that voted for Obama are happy.

Pretty soon the only way we will know what is happening is if it's a direct hit on the United States and caught on video by a citizen who did not vote for Obama.

I wonder when Obama will hold his next press conference and I wonder if anyone who is called on will ask about this.

Wonder how Jay Carney spins this. "Let's not jump to conclusions. I don't want to comment while we are conducting an investigation. It appears our drone was flying in the path the missle they launched. That's all we can say at this time. No one wants to get to the bottom of this more than the president. He finds it insulting that anyone would politicize this or question his judgement."

In my new post-election frame of mind, I now see the timing of this information as irrelevant. Obama voters would not have cared, even if the news had come out prior to the election.

Dem voters don't care if you are a Dem and:

have ethics violations;

have planned to sell out your country to the Russians;

have consorted with terrorists from the 1970's;

have been indicted, like the state senator in Illinois (in another posting today);

have lied about your native American background to get a plumb job gaming the diversity system;

have committed plagarism and are just plan crazy besides;

are under care in an institution (likely for drug problems);

have lied under oath about your adulterous habits;

have geared federal stimulous money to relatives;

and on and on.

Dems don't care. Power is the end.

A Predator flying at a sizzling 100mph or so over the Persian Gulf is unlikely to be carrying anything but a camera.

Predators can of course equiped to fire Hellfire air-to-ground missiles, but not all are. I am not aware that they have ever yet been set up to carry Sidewinders. Could probably be done. Then we'd call it a UCAV - unmanned Combat aerial vehicle. Much fancier UCAVs are being developed.

DETROIT — Four men accused of punching and kicking a motorist who accidentally struck a 10-year-old Detroit boy were ordered Monday to stand trial on attempted murder charges, after a judge reviewed their statements to police and witnesses testified about the chaotic mob attack. Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey introduced statements to police from Latrez Cummings, 19, James Davis, 24, and Wonzey Saffold, 30, all acknowledging a role in the April 2 attack. They were

OK, can we please stop pretending biofuel made from corn is helping the planet and the environment? With huge subsidies for ethanol in gasoline, with all States now selling gasoline having some ethanol blend, and a general misconception that these biofuels are green, corn ethanol has taken on a $30 billion/yr life of its own. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released two of its Working Group reports at the end of last month (WGI and WGIII), and their short discussion of biofuels has ignited a fierce debate as to whether they’re of any environmental benefit at all.

Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? It´s no surprise that a Fox News poll of 1,012 registered voters last week found immense distrust of a president whose main domestic initiative was based on a lie. The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning
