Mitt Romney was right about one thing. He was secretly taped back in May telling fund-raisers that half the country would support Barack Obama because they depend on the government for all or part of their income. Romney correctly identified America’s burgeoning entitlement culture as a major obstacle to a Republican winning back the White House. ‘There are 47 per cent of the people who will vote for the President no matter what?.?.?.?who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe they are entitled to healthcare, to food,

No one is talking about you #1. For every Social Security recieving Repub, I can show you 10 that are rabid Dems. Just because YOU vote GOP, doesn't mean the other 46.99% do...

Romney was right, O'Reilly was right, people (including those on SS) will vote for more stuff. The culture war is over, the left won...

What #2 said. Yes, there people getting disability for valid reasons. A friend's husband was severely hurt in a car accident.

However, many mouth breathing, drooling, drunk, bottom feeders come into the adult beverage store where I work and use their unemployment debit cards to buy booze. And I know the cards are unemployment because I had one in my wallet for 2 years while I couldn't find a job.

There are also others who are on welfare and disability.

I do wish people would look past "the money I paid in" and actually understand that the very system they rely on to live (for some short sighted reason) is the very one that started the ball rolling down the hill to oblivion.

#1, nice straw man, hope you had a good time at Obama campaign headquarters the other night.
Only a fool, or a liberal(but I repeat myself) think that Conservatives are talking about those programs when we speak of dependency.

Okay, we got 53% paying the way for the 47%. What happens when the 47% goes to 55%? 60%? 70%? Where is the money going to come from? We CANNOT sustain the "Free" things anymore. In Russia, you don't work, you don't eat! Enough said......

This is the plan for those in favor of Socialism. Get people hooked on entitlements one at a time, it 's a lot easier that way. And then when you have over half of the population hooked it's too late. They will start riots like what we see in Europe. It will happen here, too. We are going to see some tough times ahead. We just need to stay one step ahead of the government and prepare ourselves .

My employment exposes me to a vast number of people who suck the life out of our country with their phoney, government and lawyer enabled fraud with their "bipolar, various mental illnesses, 'bad back' " and on and on that this money mill entitlement provides. The average American has no idea of the extent of this fraud. It is criminal. The majority of them also use the money for drugs & food stamps and hang on til the next check. I'm talking about a large percentage of the people in their 20's! Drop in to any neighborhood Department of Human Services office and you will see and smell the parasites! They are killing the country and this past month they were just bused to polls around the country to make sure the Won will keep the free lunch a comin!!! These are vermin and should be dealt with or the plague will take us all out!

I cannot shake the funk I have been in since yesterday. 4 years of hope that the people in this country would vote for America after Zero's despicable record was known and ideology exposed. Was thinking positive all the way to election day due to comments on talk radio, on blogs, the reality of Zero's policies, the behind our back negotiations and lack of leadership (Benghazi)exposed and still we LOST!

I have no hope. I cannot again invest another 4 years to think positive that the American electorate would GET IT! Obviously the entire mindset of 1/2 the country is not that of the greatest generation, or even mine - Baby Boomers.

I just don't know what would convince people that Obama is a clear and present danger to this country. Maybe the mushroom cloud will get their attention... Truly sad and hopeless for the future of my country.

Some of the country´s richest young people came together at the White House recently for a day-long conference about how exactly they plan to spend their inherited wealth. The FBI is probing past legal work done by Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, according to a report her Republican opponent’s campaign calls a “bombshell.” The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that documents “related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency.” The news outlet said it’s unclear how much this investigation revolves around Davis, the Democratic nominee for governor. “It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Lynch recently was interviewed by The Boston Herald about upcoming Obamacare problems and how devastating they will be for Democrats. Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s

Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

For Hillary Clinton, having her own baby grandchild to kiss on the campaign trail, could be one of the biggest boosts to her possible presidential election campaign. Although the former Secretary of State and First Lady has not said if she will run in 2016, the arrival of her first grandchild will soften her image, analysts have said. While Chelsea only revealed her pregnancy on Thursday, supporters of her mother have already started cooing over a possible baby in the White House. With the Clintons having a near-royal status in the U.S., the announcement of a new arrival due this fall has sent

GREENSBORO, Ga. — Golf holes the size of pizzas. Soccer balls on the back nine. A mulligan on every hole. These are some of the measures — some would say gimmicks — that golf courses across the country have experimented with to stop people from quitting the game. Golf has always reveled in its standards and rich tradition. But increasingly a victim of its own image and hidebound ways, golf has lost five million players in the last decade, according to the National Golf Foundation, with 20 percent of the existing 25 million golfers apt to quit in the next few years. People under 35 have especially spurned the game, saying it takes too

Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after
