| So Obama won. Quel surprise. A lot of buzz last night that this represents the culmination of what Judis and Teixera long ago dubbed "The Emerging Democratic Majority": a coalition of minority voters that will consistently produce Democratic landslides. (snip) One of our editors suggested that I write something up on it, and my response was that I'm not sure how enduring this "Emerging Democratic Majority" will prove to be. Some reasons for my skepticism

Comments: Mainly she says that in the medium term the members of the Democratic coalition want different things. She lists fault lines. Doesn't claim to know which way it'll go. Bets on seniors.

One thing she overlooks is the economic cycle. The last recession ended (technically) in 2009. Anyone think there won't be another one by 2016? Many parts of Obama's coalition will be crushed by another downturn, and diminish their enthusiasm for the Democrat party.

This coalition is comprised of a smaller white ruling class over the hispanics, blacks and asians.
Wonder how long these groups will allow for the white liberals to rule before they want to ascend to the top spot?

Romney was a good candidate and this was a very good election effort. Various poling companies loudly proclaimed the democrat turnout would be different this season but the after the election results the TV land reality counts seemed wrong. The real problem was not the voters, counters or who was watching the counters. A firm owned by George Soros and operated in Spain took care of massaging the numbers. They did not have to follow the pundit’s theories because the rascals made up an alternate pro-Obama reality. The counters inserted facetious gross number and manipulated the results. (GIGO –Garbage in, Garbage out) No wonder the Dems weren’t worried. The results were preordained.
The company is called SCYTL. Look it up on Google. It is owned by George Soros and does many number counting jobs for the USA and the separate states.
Of course some people will deny fraud (with the flimsiest of excuses) but they denied the 1919 World Series, Fast and Furious and are currently trying to tell us that what we all know about Benghazi is the haze of war. “Walk on by folks, nothing to see here”
There was a haze of war with the elections and unless we adamantly protest it now, today, this election cycle, there will be no prospect for fair future elections. The count and recounts will always be phony but look perfect. (Just like Russia and Venezuela).
SCYTL, member the name.
The problem is. Who will investigate? Not the in the tank investigative reporters, the broadcast media, the NYT, the Department of Justice or the Attorney general? We have lost our voting voice and power; we are now subjects of the regimen.

I think her last point is big. Krauthammer talked about all the young Republicans who will be coming along in the next few years. And look at the make up of the Senate and House. There are a lot of really old Democrats in Congress. The Democrats are like a major league baseball team full of 35-45 year old stars with no minor league system. The Republicans have a weak team, but a lot of young players ready to step in.

With more than half of U.S. states experiencing high levels of flu-like illness -- and flu activity continuing to rise, ERs across the country are seeing a surge in business -- and some are struggling to keep up. Currently, 29 states and New York City are reporting high levels of influenza-like-illness (ILI), and another nine states are reporting moderate levels of ILI. This season, 18 children have died from flu-associated deaths. This year's predominant flu (76 percent) is very similar to a type that caused a severe season in 2003-2004, when the flu shot wasn't a good match and there were more than

AccuWeather CEO Barry Myers urged the National Hurricane Center (NHC) to reverse its decision not to issue hurricane or tropical storm warnings for Sandy north of North Carolina. "To indicate that there is a landfalling hurricane and to issue warnings about it is the most effective thing that can be done to warn the public," Myers said. There has not been one hurricane watch or warning issued by the National Hurricane Center for New Jersey despite the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Sandy near Atlantic City this evening.

The Egyptian authorities have seized documents which reportedly confirm Jewish ownership of property in Cairo. The 1.7 million documents, weighing two tonnes, were confiscated as they were being shipped to Israel via Jordan. (snip) Israeli authorities intended to use the documents and deeds in a legal suit to reclaim property that was confiscated from Cairo’s Jews during the 1952 revolution. (snip) The documents were stolen from the Cairo research institute, the Institut d’Égypte, during last year’s public riots.

(CNN) -- A former senator vs. a congressman. A Catholic vs. a Catholic. A policy wonk vs. an experienced speaker. The elements are in place for an interesting debate between Vice President Joe Biden and Rep. Paul Ryan. And Sunday marked Round II of the expectations game, as campaign advisers and surrogates sought to set the stage for Thursday's showdown.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
