| The Congressional District 2 showdown between Republican Martha McSally and Democrat Ron Barber has gone into overtime - and it could come down to instant replay. McSally holds a minuscule lead of less than two-tenths of a percentage point over Barber - a 400-vote difference in a race in which more 228,000 votes have been tabulated, with several days of additional vote counting to go.

McSally is a marvelous candidate, but this race appears to be a tough fight for the GOP. It fits a familiar pattern. Can anyone cite even one example where a democrat held a slim lead on election day, but an extended vote count enabled the Republican to prevail? Anyone . . . Anyone . .

Pima County is the most liberal county in AZ. The vote counters are Commies. sorry McSally, I'm sure you have more votes, but when the commies are done counting, Barber will be victorious.

I'm afraid that OP and #1 are correct in their educated prediction of the vote counting results. However, I think that I'll donate to her campaign fund to help with the fight and a chance to expose some Dem voter fraud. Same with Allen West's fight on the re-count.

I would hope that McSally engage her campaign attorney to depose the people doing the vote counting for lie detector tests and answering questions under oath. That would perhaps ensure some honesty in the count.

I can picture it now. 421 votes were found in an election workers car trunk. Amazingly enough they were all for Barber!

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. Rory McIlroy abruptly walked off the course Friday at the Honda Classic, telling reporters who followed him to his car he´s "not in a good place mentally." He later said it was more dental than mental, releasing a statement that he couldn´t concentrate because of a sore wisdom tooth. The surprising departure raised serious questions about golf´s No. 1 player with the Masters just more than a month away. McIlroy has played only four rounds in three tournaments this year, and this was a clear sign of frustration.

ST. LOUIS Stan Musial, one of baseball´s greatest hitters and a Hall of Famer with the St. Louis Cardinals for more than two decades, died Saturday. He was 92. Stan the Man won seven National League batting titles, was a three-time MVP and helped the Cardinals capture three World Series championships in the 1940s. The Cardinals announced Musial´s death in a news release. They said he died Saturday evening at his home in Ladue surrounded by family. The team said Musial´s son-in-law, Dave Edmonds, informed the club of Musial´s death.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
