The Dow Jones Industrial Average had the biggest point drop since November 2011. The Dow closed at 12,932.73, down 312.95 points, or 2.4 percent. The S&P 500 also dropped 2.4 percent to 1,394.54 while the Nasdaq Composite fell 2.5 percent to 2,937.29. Stocks opened lower Wednesday morning with investors concerned about the looming fiscal cliff and the European economy. Protests against Greek austerity measures persisted for the second day in Athens with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras asking parliament to vote on spending cuts and tax increases.

Gee.....all of a sudden Greece is back in the news---funny how that happens!

Speaking of Greece----why would Greece's financial dilemma be of concern to us here in the U.S.A when we just voted to continue down the same path that got them into their quagmire?

Most of my investments are in index funds, including Double Dow and Double Nasdaq. I threw some more money into them recently, thinking of a bonanza after a Romney win.
This morning I was unable to feed my cats their usual tin of Meow Mix.
It was actually delicious. A little soy sauce, some pepper...yummy.

ABC news radio was blaming the stock market drop on the fiscal cliff they just discovered.
Oh, yeah and they just notice the riots in Greece, too.

Fiscal cliff time. For all their caving in to Obamacare and trying to get on the health exchange gravy train, healthcare payer stocks are way off: Humana (Medicare Advantage) off 6%, UnitedHealth off 2%, Aetna down 1.8%, WellPoint (Blues Empire and Anthem) off 5%. CEO of Aetna's already talking employee freeze/layoff:

I thought the one day drop after the election was investor concerns because Obama won. Fiscal cliff? Greece? The stock market has know about that for months.

The libertard professors in California don't have a clue that this is NOT good for their bountiful CALPERS retirements. CALPERS is hugely dependent on the health of the US market and pension plans are being wiped out with losses like this.

Speaking of which, Gov. Moonbeam really thinks he can get the Feds to bail out their bloated bureaucratic entitlement gravy train, but that would add another trillion to the national debt for just one year. Socialism is entirely screwed. If we do what third world nations do, and that's induce inflation and deflate our currency, the Chinese will go to war against us. Great situation FDR socialism has brought us to, huh?

Embrace the continuation of the Depression. No one with brains and capital is going to invest into any thing of substance for the next four years.

Meanwhile, the OWS unemployment brain dead crowd, the muslim/arab lunatics, militant blacks and entitlement crowd (over 50%) now have free reign to wage war and havoc on those who have jobs, own property and employ people. Wake me up in 2016, oh wait...the same idiots will elect Hillary and then we will have eight more years of Clinton.

Worse, no one will attempt to impeach O for Benghazi because of the race card, our current stock of Republican leaders are spineless and no one on the planet wants Biden to be the Pres., hence O's selection of the mentally challenged clown.

Hey, Wall Street and unions, welcome to your new he!! With impending Ocare...thousands of businesses will close or move over seas.

To #11: Those libtards in CA no longer care about CALPER investments in bonds or stocks because the over 50% of takers in CA voted to have the producer taxes increased so those 'bountiful' funds can be thrown into pension funds. The only problem is that 'bountiful' funds are never realized. I predict the deficit next year will be $20 billion and counting.

Seriously.....has ANY "news" outlet mentioned that this MIGHT be due to the election ? I have yet to see one. They ALL are quick to claim that it's the new focus on the "fiscal cliff".

I feel like I am listening to Benghazi reports all over again.

A major tea party group is planning protests at Internal Revenue Services nationwide Tuesday following revelations earlier this month that the tax agency had flagged organizations with the words "tea party" or "patriot" for additional scrutiny. The protests were originally scheduled only for Cincinnati, where the IRS has said employees responsible for the targeting were based. But Tea Party Patriots head Jenny Beth Martin tells Whispers she received requests to protest across the country. A call to action on the group´s web site tells supporters that "the IRS is out of control" and so

President Obama will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in California on June 7-8, the White House announced Monday. It will be Mr. Obama’s first meeting with Mr. Xi since he became president of China in March. They previously met in Washington in 2011 when Mr. Xi was vice president. The talks come amid heightened U.S. tensions over cyberattacks reportedly originating in China. But the Obama administration said it has been pleased with Beijing’s cooperation in trying to persuade North Korea to reduce its belligerent military actions this spring.

The Indiana attorney general’s office confirmed Monday it is investigating a security breach in which Social Security numbers and other personal information were posted online for roughly 44,000 low-income Americans who applied for a federal program that provides discount Internet and phone service. The program was nicknamed the “Obamaphone” during the 2012 election, though it actually started long before President Obama took office. Indiana reportedly has the highest number of applicants, roughly 17,400, who were signed up by TerraCom Inc. and the affiliated YourTel America Inc. Applicants from at least 26 states were exposed to the security breach,

WASHINGTON- Apple Inc. has used an elaborate web of offshore subsidiaries to avoid paying billions of dollars in U.S. taxes on $44 billion in foreign income over the past four years, a Senate investigation has found. Many of the tactics, such as cost-sharing arrangements, are common among large multinational corporations seeking to shift profits to countries with lower tax rates. The investigation did not find Apple violated any laws. But three of its subsidiaries in Ireland claim to have no responsibility to pay income taxes to any country, according to a 40-page, bipartisan report released Monday

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place. According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn´t to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect." ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington.

CINCINNATI- Few workers know the IRS Cincinnati office better than Bonnie Esrig, who worked there for 24 years. She retired from her job as a senior manager in January. Esrig said she did not recall any discussion of politics in the office. "Politics and religion were things people generally didn´t talk about at work," she said. Esrig did not work on political cases and was not connected to the applications at the center of the controversy. But she worked in the same office where fewer than 200 people were dealing with 73,000 applications for exemptions last year.

On her blog this afternoon, Fox News’ On the Record host Greta Van Susteren wrote that the Department of Justice should feel “lucky” they did not hack into her emails like they did with her colleague James Rosen several years ago. While that sounds like a veiled threat against the DOJ, Van Susteren was actually making a joke about how her personal email account mostly contains correspondence and information regarding her sick dog named Audrey: Had Justice hacked into my personal email account this weekend, they would have had to sort through all the emails from the vet

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false. "And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans
