We have become a country of grasping victims who want nothing more out of life than their perceived share of other peoples output and free sucking at the government teat. A friend asked her young, adult daughter what her age voted on in the election and the daughter said it was all social issues.
Between us parents and the public school teachers, we have done the next generation a grave disservice by letting them disengage with the real world.
And the older, adult people I have talked to have decided that a wealthy, successful white businessman is just plain evil and a failed, incompetent black man is just the ticket for potus.

For me, it's over. I am now going to be like the illegal immigrants and the Chicago gangs, it is now all about me and what I have to do to survive. I have always voluntarily obeyed all the laws, (well--except for speeding), played fair, gave more than my share, and so on and so forth. No more and if I even suspect that you are a Liberal, we are not friends and I won't do business with you any more if you own a business.

One thing LDotters can do is totally ignore the Veteran's Day Sales this weekend, then ignore Black Friday, and trim your Christmas and Hanukkah gifts way back. It is not too late to make homemade gifts. I had some items picked out to buy this weekend at the sales, but it is nothing I need, so I am doing without them.

I don't think the majority of Americans are addicted to the Santa Claus "freebies." Not yet, although we're approaching that point very quickly. Instead, I believe fraud played a HUGE part in this election.

White House Insider thinks the election was stolen with the help of some elected Republicans: BOTH SIDES. Get it? I know localized fraud. But a multiple state millions of votes level of fraud? To pull that off would be incredibly risky and would require help from the apparent opposition side.

I, too, am ashamed to be an American. We look like total idiots for re-electing a failed president. I hate to see that evening sun go down on America. I'm sad for my children, my grandson and his future children. The America of my childhood will very soon be gone. It's a sad, sad time for my country. I'm not sure if I'll ever vote again.

I kept saying we were doomed and now I am sure of it. I think that within six months, this country will be a nation of nothing. We won't have any money, all our freedoms will be gone and no one will have health care because we cannot afford it. There is no way you can keep spending and not paying. We will be bankrupt in no time and they will still be blaming Bush. This is what half this country voted for thinking they were voting for free phones, free food, free everything. It cannot happen. It will not happen. We are doomed.

I would say it is apparent that we are no longer a center right country

Liberal friends voted for the fraud because of women's issues....what will happen when sharia law is here? What about women's issues then, it is scary. Christian's? What of them? I cannot understand why ANY Christian would vote for the fraud especially if there is a shred of evidence that he is muslim. Obviously their God did not explain this at all.
Be prepared to go forth quietly and be vigilant. Don't buy anything more than what you absolutely need,keep to yourself what your plans are for the future. Basically trust no one. The future looks joyless.

My wife is on me about our annual Christmas party. Several people that attend regularly are supporters of the won. She's upset with me for saying I don't want them in my house. I'm for canceling the party and buying ammo and gold with the money we would have spent.

The number that jumps from Tuesday : something close to 10 million fewer votes for Romney than for McCain

We may not yet be outnumbered by the takers.

Why the low Romney turnout ? Romneycare ? Perceived Liberalism. Flip-flopping ? Mormonism ?

Obie's numbers were also lower than '08, presumably because of lack of enthusiasm. So, the victory was there for our taking but for the purists offended about ambiguous pro-life positions in BlueMass 10 years ago ?

So sad because I believe Romney's skills were ideally suited to our crisis. His moral character and leadership is also needed.

What a load that is. Romney lost, because the GOP has whittled itself into a white male only party. This is not about whether everyone has to be Christian or Muslim. This is about personal freedom and choice and the GOP does not have a clue.

The demographic shift ushered in by RINO's and Democrats is complete. We've finally reached the tipping point. Obama won with 39% of the white vote. He will now open the floodgates and happily continue the left's suicidal quest to push whites into minority status. I won't be surprised at anything our dictator in chief does along the way.

Lets see now, 500 retired Admirals and Generals endorsed Romney and 7 endorsed Obama. And Obama won the little girl vote so they can get unrestricted abortions. I too am ashamed of my fellow countrymen. Everyone I know is not just disappointed, but actually in fear of their government.

This cannot be overstated:

Republicans just don’t understand that America and the west are being consumed by a culture war.

By "culture war", we don't mean necessarily a divide about sexual morality, although that is one facet. Rather, it is an "other" worldview from that of traditional American values such as working for a living, posponing gratification, "saving for a rainy day", telling the truth, placing value in something higher than one's self, living accountably, being charitable and above all, understanding that people are not basically "good". Not understanding this, Melanie correctly posits, has led to one of the biggest mistakes we made -- expecting people to be truthful and honest. When they are not, we are surprised. But we shouldn't be. How many lessons does it take to understand that?

One need ony to do a few Worldview Studies to know that the history of the world is that of tyranny -- people who are permitted to get away with it, will oppress and control others, take what they have and if necessary, obliterate them. That is the default state of mankind, and those who claim people are "born good" are dangerously naive. It's not a pretty picture but it is the God's honest truth.

I'm wondering if the lower vote totals were partially due to some success in fighting fraud. If that's true, it could also be an indication of how widespread the fraud is, the level of illegal voting that succeeded.

I see the much-maligned UN observers were shocked that people voted without identification.

#26... Zero received 69M votes in 2008, 60M in 2012. McCain received 59M in 2008, Romney 57M in 2012. Zero lost almost 10M, not the republicans. But still, Romney received less than McCain. That is hard to believe without a tin foil hat.

Young people are being taught that free market capitalism, private sector economy is bad, unfair, risky, etc. They are buying the BS that we need centralized government to "monitor" and "manage" our economy. In follow up to my previous post... One of the best lines the Zero campaign kept repeating was about how Romney wants to take us back to the economic policies that "got us in to this mess". People are buying this mentality guys.

It's bad enough when people go mad and join suicidal cults. But in this case, they are taking the rest of us with them. We are now headed for certain catastrophe. In fact, toward multiple serial catastrophes.

The first will be economic. And it will be coming very soon. In January, the fiscal cliff of massive tax hikes is looming. The Democrats know they have to do something, but their cure will kill the patient. Disproportionate taxes on the producers will guarantee major business failures and further job losses. It will put the economy into a death spiral.

On national defense, sequestration will begin gutting and dismantling our military. Our enemies, who are modernizing and expanding their militaries, will be further emboldened. Iran, not just unchallenged but even facilitated and shown the green light, will in fact complete their first nukes. Israel can't stop them without our assistance. So then the only question will be how long before Iran strikes. First Israel, then us.

I suppose the only good news is that when Iran does strike us, they will take out our big very blue cities, starting with DC. God works in miraculous ways.

I will tell you who lost the election for us - those stuff shirt, power mongers at the RNC who stuck their finger in the eye of Ron Paul supporters at the convention in Tampa.
If Romney had embraced these freedom loving constitution loving people by condemning the blatant disregard of their no votes and pledging to name Paul the head of the Federal Reserve, he would be our president elect today.

After the first Sept. 11, I began flying a flag at my house on a regular basis. First one of those inexpensive ones that mounts on the wall of the house. Then a good steel in ground one in my front yard. That one got bent by a tornado, so I replaced it with an aluminum one. That got bent by high winds, so I had the steal one straightened enough to use again. Put a spotlight in the front yard so I could leave it out at night.

Yesterday I unplugged the light and took the flag down. May never fly it again. In respect for the dead (aka, our late great constitutional republic).

Perhaps I should get rid of the pole now, just so I won't be forced to run up the new USSA flag with Dear Reader's picture on it when it is issued. I'd rather not do that.

In 2008 while in my walking prayer time, out of the blue, I felt prompted to ask if Obama was the anti-christ. So I did. Immediately the thought that formed was: "No. He is 333."

I seriously have lost my American optimism. I hope not forever, but there is an undeniable sense that something really bad is just beyond the horizon. I wasn't there, of course, but I can't help thinking that this was what the summer of 1914 must have felt like.

I HATE the outcome of this election as much as anybody, but making Valerie Jarett into some sinister ghoul is ridiculous.

This is the fact of the matter - unless the Republicans compete in our urban areas, they can no longer win national electons, and it will be difficult to win state elections. Yes, we win big in less densely populated areas, but that is never going to get it done if we win such a small percentage of the vote in cities/urban areas.

Any bets as to whether any White House correspondent will ask Jay Carney if Valerie Jarrett is negotiating with Iran on behalf of the US? (Can't ask the ONE himself since he refuses to hold press conferences)

I am sitting here trying to figure out who didn't vote for Romney as compared with the Republican candidates in 2008 and 2004. Allahpundit had a nice statistical explanation of why it wasn't the evangelicals. (As an evangelical myself, I didn't get the feeling that evangelicals were anything but supremely motivated to vote in order to protect their country and their religious freedom.) Was it the Libertarians? Seriously, I don't think there are that many of them, at least not enough who put love of country behind love of Ayn Rand.

The voting lines were long. The enthusiasm at Romney/Ryan rallies was huge. The yardsign and bumpersticker deficit was apparent to anybody who looked. Who didn't vote this time???

(Insert here "subsets of Christian: Amillenial, pre-tribulation, post-tribulation, John Galt producer type, living martyr, messianic Jew, of another fold ye know not of, beginning to be beheaded for the faith in other countries, borderline "lukewarm," Episcopalian-non practicing gays, Catholic well meaning once a week book report hearers; divided by underground church members, including those who dream dreams and see visions but who are not counted as Rove-approved watchdogs, and paid watchdogs wearing bow ties and spectators, who cry as they dumb down their reports in Babylon.

Sorry for the second post. One more thing. I hang out at conservative blogs. Last time there were plenty of people who said they were going to the polls to vote for Sarah Palin. They weren't pleased with McCain, but they could vote for Sarah. And by extension, one could infer that there were a significant number of Republicans who didn't like McCain enough that even Sarah's presence on the ticket could motivate them to make the trip to vote.

This time I saw none of that. Conservatives and evangelicals were not thrilled with Romney at first, but they realized that he is a decent man, had picked a genuine conservative as his running mate, and that the prospect of four more years of Obama was so dreadful that that alone made them want to be sure to cast their ballots. This time the Republicans were no longer starry-eyed about the hopey-changey chance to vote the first black president into office. There may have been a few who were willing to vote for the Democrat, but not many.

So once again - who was it on our side that didn't vote???

This article is worth reading twice, the second time very carefully. Melanie Phillips, anent Obama's (Jarrett's) foreign policy, mentions that we are sliding toward World War III. I fear we may also be sliding toward American Civil War II. Preposterous? Believe me, few Americans in say, 1856 would have believed that in five years on half of America would have been facing the other half in a bloody civil war.

Philips mentions Romney's weaknesses as a candidate. Politically, Romney is no leader -- whatever he may have been in the private sector -- politically, he has been a good administrator and a compromiser. At least I, no admirer of Romney or the tactics of some of his supporters, give him credit for for refusing to publicly espouse principles in which he has never believed (that is, those of conservatism.) It was obvious that his ineptitude in defending himself or taking the fight to the enemy was because he shared their point of view far more than he shared ours.

#13 - Please don't boycott Christmas gift giving. Remember the small/micro business owners, like myself, who work 24/7, do our part, contribute our share to taxes & country, support charities, and feel the same way you do about all of this administration’s treachery.

I'm a small business owner about ready to go under in this economy, and a negative holiday season will be the last nail in the coffin for my business. Since 2003 I have never seen things this bad, and I know I am just one of millions business owners feeling this way. We’re all praying for small business support from our fellow Americans.

She's exactly correct. But, I want to float an almost unthinkable idea. Our sons and daughters should not volunteer to protect Obama, Chris Matthews, Valerie Jarrett, or Democrats and all their evil spawn. They have broken faith with the American Social Compact and no longer are Americans. Our children should not give their lives for them.

Nobody is talking about the "death" tax that will be reinstated in January 2013. The rate will be 52% of everything valued at over one million dollars.

That tax, if it stands, will surely take out a lot of American family small businesses and farms that will have to be sold so that families can pay that onerous tax.

That will be good for rich foreigners who can come here and purchase those businesses and properties, claim that they will be hiring American workers when in reality most times they hire immigrants, illegal and legal, from their home countries, and in return be given a "green" card.

We have seen the last white male president, the rest will be female and/or minority.

The missing GOP voters somebody (Sean Trende?) has pointed out, and the Latinos (who ought to be with us - Megan McArdle's article?), those were the weak spots, it seems - we lost for lack of them - they did not turn up on Election Day. Let us also note that many or so of Zippy's did not. Though Zippy won, let us take note anyway of the African-Americans who were pro-life and wouldn't vote against him but they wouldn't vote for him either.

The R Party, along with America, face their end of days...

The Tea Party is the only group in America with a backbone at the moment.

My post-election resolves are two:

1. Take down my American flag. It does not represent the American government.
2. Contact my local Tea Party and see if they can use the kind of help I can give them. Being somewhat physically handicapped, I have always assumed they could not...but it is time to find out for sure.

1. While we often fault the Democratsw for putting party above country we do not see that we are doing the same thing when we insist that every elected Republican and every candidate agree with us on everyting.

2. We fight each other too mucdh. We cannot tolerate other opinions, since each of us right on everything.

3. We have the wrong solutions. While I have listened to Rush for years, he is wrong on one thing. That is that our candidates must all be conservatives.

4. The Tea Party is echoing this same idea. I belong to Tea Party Patriots but I disagree on some points. They share Rush's opinion on conservatives and are going to double down on it. I am so grateful to them for their stand but I think this will lead us to another disaster.

5. We do not understand the limits of power and insist that our representatives must accomplish the impossible or we will get rid of them. Boahner and McConnell have been playing a clever game and are darned good at it but we call for their heads. Issa has done heroic work but because he has not been able to do the impossible we don't appreciate it.
We speak bitterly about our people here on Lucianne undermining our representatives and not considering the fact that others are reading our comments.

6. Evangelical protests notwithstanding, they did not come out in force for McCain and even less so for Romney. They think they are being faithful to their beliefs and their feet are in concrete about it.

Yo…#40. To hell with Ron Paul. He benefited from being in the Republican Party all those years, and then when needed most, he abdicated. If he had endorsed Romney (who went out of his way to show respect for Paul) it might have made a difference. Now he is irrelevant. I agree with Jack Welch…Romney is probably the all-around best candidate we have had or will have for many, many years...smart, decent, accomplished, and imminently qualified. And I am devastated at the loss.

All of the words on all of the blogs, Fox and talk radio are irrelevant. Through the senate and the supreme court Obama will set himself up as dictator for life. Sorry folks, the end game is upon us. We had our chance and blew it big time.

If we fight, & fight back HARD, we have a chance to beat this slide into decay. We must attack back at every single lying statement they make or print or video on television. Hard.

We need to sue as slander the old woman being thrown off the cliff ad. Why have we been so nice? Because of the MSM? Beat them at their own game & buy air time for ads & programs. Sue them if they won't sell them to use under our FCC laws.

Remember when Perot did his "Pretty simple stuff" ad? He got a lot of votes from the GOP for that one program. He lasted two election cycles helping Clinton stay in office. We need to do that!!!

#66 and #74 - I will never, ever believe that Zero won this election fair and square. Electronic voting machines switching enough votes from Romney to Obama in swing states cinched the election for 0 and makes the original numbers reasonable and believable.

I personally believe that the voting was rigged so that a vote for Romney was changed to a vote for no-one. An obvious, OOPPSS-IT SHOWED OBAMA, is easily caught. An ignored vote, not so easily caught. The ballot could be counted and audited against the voting registrations, but a no vote would never be caught. If the number of republicans who voted in a given district is significantly less than the number of votes for Romney, I'd suspect fraud.

The election was stolen. It has been a long time since a Republican could win a close election. Dem precincts openly are held open longer than Repub precincts. That is cheating. Just because a judge says its ok doesn't change the fact that its cheating.

Philly had precincts where the Dems threw out the Pubbie poll watchers for the afternoon, and then those precincts went 100 percent Obama. Surprise? I don't think so.

What to do? Restigmatize being on the dole. food stamps? Begin using words like "lazy", "selfish", "ignorant", "user". To their face. Ostracize men that won't work.

Take the vote away from people on the dole. No taxes paid? No vote this year.

Ostracize dead beat dads. The greatest challenge to black boys is their absentee dads. Let's start with Obama. He has abandoned his boy. Didn't know he had one, did you? Surprize! Obama is a dead beat dad.

I think there are hundreds of things that put us here, but the biggest thing is the easiest to control if we are willing to put in the work. And that is...PERCEPTION.

#27, from a standpoint of perception, you are correct. In truth, however, those of us who know better, know the party doesn’t cater to simply white males. But in politics, perception is everything. And the Democrats KNOW this. This is why they went out and "defined" Romney early on. This is why they have been pushing massive propaganda for over 45 years. It works. We don't even reach out to people in need. How many Republicans (pols or citizens) go out to poor minority neighborhoods and listen to their problems and try to help them come up with solutions?? Maybe less than a fraction of 1%. The Democrats do it all the time. They never give real solutions because they don't have any (and, in truth, they don't want them to improve their lives). But the people PERCEIVE that care because they are there. It means a lot to a starving dog to throw him a bone once in a while. He’ll stay loyal even if you beat him every day and keep him chained to a pole in the rain. We don't have to pander. We can be honest but we need to reach out and help educate people and help them with solutions. Instead, we spend all our time making noise about certain religious beliefs and imposing them on women when many don’t even have the same beliefs regarding early term pregnancy. That said, why are you not surprised that they won't even listen?

I am with a number of the previous posters. I have given up on the ability of Americans to govern themselves. The fools (my actual sentiments are much stronger) who voted for these destroyers will reap what they have sown. The cities (obama voters en masse) will pay the most severe price for their selfishness, greed, and ignorance. They will rues the day Obama became president again, but I doubt even then will they be smart enough to figure it out. In the meantime I have learned a lesson from my countrymen. I will share no more. I will prepare and protect myself and my family, and the hell with anybody else..

Unfortunately, people are reluctant to change without a bit of pain involved. For the good of the Republic, Pubs in the House should stand aside, vote "present", and let NerØbama's agenda pass through. The consequences of his proven-failed policies will inflict pain on the electorate that hopefully will wake them from their stupor. Bitter medicine, to be sure, but sometimes that is what is called for.

Although I, too, believe the election was stolen with rigged machines, I think a Romney presidency would only have delayed the inevitable. We'd already lost the country beforehand to powerful forces that have replaced faith in God and reason with faith in government and ideology. That's why there is no political solution to our nation's decline; it simply isn't a political problem. It's a cultural one.

Every one of us must stand boldly for faith and truth whenever and however we can find a way to do so; we need to fight to regain our influence in all the institutions that are currently dominated by the left. We're not just fighting for more voters any more. We're fighting for the soul of our country.

when you look at vote total remember in 2008 both campaigns made big national ad buys. This year most of the ad buys were local markets in swing state. The only national ad I saw the last weekend was a big Obama buy of the Colin Powell endorsement. That could explain reduced turnout. Low interest voters outside of the swing states hardly knew their was a presidential election.

Yesterday I lovingly folded up my flag and mailed it with a $5. check to FlagKeepers for them to respectfully dispose of it. For years we have donated $100. for the local 4th of July fireworks celebration. No more. I also threw away all of my 4th of July decorations and my red and white striped shirts. I am rather anonymous on this thread, and you and my husband are the only ones that will know this. This is because my very dear son in law is an army officer, a West Point graduate, and I don't want to add to his burdens. As I was weeping Tuesday night I felt a change occur in my heart. America is no longer my people. All the people around the world that have a true hunger and desire for the truth are like little candles, and I was a part of them. The churches are the big part of this picture, but also anyone who truly desires the truth over everything else, and that even includes some muslims, agnostics, and present atheists. God is going to move as things get darker, people seeking truth will come to know Jesus as a result of the shaking that will come, and ultimately we Christians have to rejoice in that. Life here is just temporary anyhow. On a personal note, in the last 2 days I feel closer to the body of Christ than I have in a very long time. I didn't really go to church for about 10 years after my old church blew up and we all discovered that the pastor was a lying, cheating, ******. We found a new, lovely church, but it still felt unsafe to open my heart until now. I feel much more cohesive with them now.

Now, We have the Moderate's Moderate of Mitt Romney, who ran the Text Book Perfect Campaign, and lost to an easily defeat-able and weak incumbent. So, for all of you people who claim we want Party Purity can go suck an Egg. We tried it your way, we went with the "Electable One" and guess what, ALL OF YOU WERE WRONG, Turns out, Mitt Romney was not electable at all. Something ANYONE who looked at his actual record could have told you. Mitt Romney is a professional political loser. 25 tries for office, only 6 wins. So, in 2016 the cries of moderate losers demanding we dilute the party even further should be ignored. Anyone who claims a candidate is the "Electable" one should be dealt with in the harshest manner possible. Learn it, or repeat it. Again.
