The great experiment didn't last 100 years. We seem to forget that we once had a revolution in the mid 1800s. Of course it was because the constitution was flawed and unworkable so blood and brute force was used to hold this collection together. It is long overdue to have another go at a revolution.

Once upon a time there was a property requirement for a vote. No stake in the contest, no vote.

Had we taken back the senate, I can't help but think McConnell would be talking about coming together or some other such nonsense.

The filibuster rule required 67 to stop a filibuster, but in the mid 1970s, Dead Ted Kennedy pushed through a change to 60. Now Reid will take it down to 51, I would guess.
And the rule allowing any senator to put a hold on a presidential nominee will also fall by the wayside.
And while the House can stop some of the stuff Zero throws at them, the senate will do the biding of zero, including confirmation of really whacky judges...

Get honest, just pass a rule that says if the Democrats are in the majority there is no filibuster, and when the Republicans are in the majority there is. Hell, just go ahead and make this country a single party state.

Let's not begin this next four year term by foolishly assuming Senate GOP leadership just had an injection of testosterone. McConnell and the others will not stop Reid or Obama.

Reid may be able to railroad the Senate GOP, but Boehner will need to hold the line.

The Republicans will cave. The elites want the institutionalized minority status again where they are comfortable. There was a revolution in this country - in 2008. The leftists are just beginning to codify it. This won't take long now.

Sometimes I wish that I was a Democrat (except for the ideology, lack of class, brain-dead women and requirement that I forfeit my manhood and become a corrupt, preening metrosexual). They know how to play the game to win.

When the pubs had control before 2006, Reid and the dims used the filibuster probably more than the pubs do now. He also, for the first time started to filibuster judicial candidates during that time. Before then, judicial candidates were given an up or down vote if they passed through the judiciary committee. He gripes now, but he started it. It amazes me that the media never discuss this when the dims cry about the pubs.
