Republican Mia Love concedes
to Democrat Jim Matheson in Utah

Washington Post, by Sean Sullivan

Original Article

Rep. Jim Matheson (D-Utah) survived a tough challenge from Saratoga Springs Mayor Mia Love (R), edging out the challenger by little more than a single percentage point. With all precincts reporting, Matheson led Love by less than 3,000 votes — a margin so slim that the Associated Press had yet to call the race in favor of the Democrat. But Love conceded early Wednesday morning, offering Matheson her congratulations and thanking her supporters.

Comments:
The bad news just keeps coming. Mia Love - one of the starlets at RNC - loses in Utah.

Allen West lost in Florida. Something is very wrong with this entire election.

It is hard to believe that a Mormon can't win in a Mormon state.

Allen West lost too?? Jesus, with all the chaos I hadn't heard West lost. There has got to be something wrong with this picture. I can almost understand Obama winning...but all these other loses of individuals like West who had energized the Repub base. Somethings wrong here but we'll never know because Republicans are to nice to ever raise a fuss which is why we always LOSE!

I have zero trust in our election system. I simply do not believe this outcome when you consider what happened in 2010. No way could we have changed this much in those two years, and no way the dims got that much more rev'd up in that time.

In the last week, Matheson had been running TV ads with local RINO Republicans endorsing him over Mia. Thanks RINOs. Special place in hell . . .

Sad that the politics of hate, division, class envy and revenge win over optimism, faith and sound economics.

Welcome to Greece--heck we're actually worse off than Greece but the imbeciles who voted for Obama haven't realized it yet.

Mia Love is too smart, faithful, and refreshing to get elected politically. Maybe if she was on Dancing with the Stars, she could have helped her chances.

They ran a barrage of attack ads against Mia Love. Most of them claimed she loved big government and big taxes. I knew the truth and could ignore them, but they were truly frightening ads. It also seemed that she ran few ads of her own until near the end. Matheson voted against Obamacare, but he waited until the last minute when Pelosi had the votes and gave him permission to vote against it. People here should have voted him out because of that wavering alone. On another note, we need a new House leader that will leave Obamacare out of the budget. Not one that funds it just to get along.

The Establishment Republicans don't like her. Tea Partiers do. The Establishment Republican party is eating its own and deserves to die.

Sad. Mia Love was good! A great combination of brains, beauty, and righteous politics. What's wrong with Utah? Can this truly be chalked up to voter fraud?

Reply 16 - Posted by: lostinmassachusetts, 11/7/2012 11:28:36 AM     (No. 8996326)

#12 is right. I'm certain that many of the GOP losses last night are the result of voter fraud. It certainly explains whey the entire Republican slate was wiped out in MA, even when faced with unpopular Democrat opponents (Warren, Tierney, etc.). (Those who count the votes determine the election.) That Mia Love lost indicates that the same Democrat-led voter fraud is active even in Republican-leaning states.

I'd sure like someone to do some research into these "surprise" races and whether those precincts, districts, states, had electronic voting machines and who made and programmed them? I also wonder if there wasn't some rather skillful hacking going on from China?

I'd also like to know if these machines are certified prior to and after each election? Someone needs to demand all these machines be sequestered and tested for veracity.

Proving that even in the most Republican state in the union the voters are dumb. Matheson is son of a very popular Democrat Governor of way back when.

Mark Sanford has won the South Carolina special election in a competitive race for what in normal circumstances is a safe Republican seat. The former governor beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert Busch, for the state’s 1st congressional district. The AP called the race for Sanford early in the evening, with the Republican leading Colbert Busch 54 percent 46 percent.

Most countries in the world have irrelevant numbers of "immigrants." In the Americas, for example, only Canada, America, and the British West Indies have significant non-native populations. In Mexico, immigrants account for 0.6 percent of the population, and that generally negligible level prevails all the way down through Latin America until you hit a blip of 1.4 percent with Chile and 3.8 percent in Argentina. (Snip) But profound sweeping demographic transformation through immigration is a phenomenon only of the western world in the modern era, and even there America leads the way.

Mahatma Gandhi is quoted in his book, Gandhi: The Power of Pacifism, by Catherine Clement, as follows: While Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Parsees and Jews, along with several million adherents of an animistic religion, all coexisted in relative harmony, one religion that would not accept compromise stood out from the rest: Islam. Gandhi was referring to the experience during his lifetime in the Indian sub-continent, but the growth of Wahhabism and the current resurgence in Islamic triumphalism since Gandhi´s death in January 1948 now poses an increasingly existential threat to the West,

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
