Republicans had everything going for them. A horrible economy. A weak incumbent. Motivated voters. Now it’s time for the GOP to face reality and clean house. They need a new message, and new messengers. Republicans and Mitt Romney have only themselves to blame for their staggering defeat. It wasn’t Sandy’s fault, Candy Crowley’s fault or Chris Christie’s fault. There are some glaring reasons why President Obama won re-election. Now GOP leaders have to learn the lessons from this debacle. The biggest issue the party faces is winning back women. GOP candidates once again

Now the lying, cover-up court eunuchs who helped deceive the nation into retaining the Marxist they so dishonestly and illegally colluded with - now they dare come out and blame the GOP? I hope everyone has stocked up on barf bags.
Romney was our last hope, but the press would have sabotaged him and the Dims would have screamed at every tiny thing trying to make "scandals" after four years of covering up real ones. Maybe God will transform this horrible event into something good.. Maybe Obama and all his cronies (press included) will destroy themselves.
Meanwhile, America needs to start educating its children again and putting God in the center of everything again, as it was meant to be.
#1 I agree. No to illegals. They broke the law as their first act. If I break into your home, may I just stay and take your stuff , Appeal to soft-minded women by giving/doing what? Nothing but a slap to smart women everywhere. Nothing but a slap to all who play by the rule of law. No thanks.
I don't think we need a facelift. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan would have made a wonderful team in the White House. They are decent men with keen knowledge and a viable vision about what is wrong with our economy and how to fix it. What does this author want? Some rock star with a progressive message? We are a nation divided and 'there's the rub.'
Agree #7, Romney and Ryan were what this country needed. Maybe what needs fixing are those citizens who think they should have everything free. That is the mindset that needs fixing. BTW, Obama voters are going to demand facelifts and how dare you say the GOP needs one.
Furthermore, we did not "have everything going for us." We did not have a lying press willing to cover up and distort the truth. We did not have a legion of poll fixers to cheat the vote. We did not have a World hierarchy filling our coffers. We did not buy the votes of illegals and the poor. We did not have union thugs to strongarm members and do dirty deeds. No, we only had 50 million tax paying citizens who believe in the rightness of the American way as it should be and two candidates willing to work hard to straighten out a terrible mess. God help us.
We need to become stronger in our conservative outreach, not weaker. There will be no reason for social conservatives to vote if we don't. Not all conservatives are wealthy, and without the social issues they will have no reason to vote for either party, or they may decide to vote for the Democrats because they promise more.
No. Not true. I've been telling you people for years that the only thing that counts is the percentage of the people either on welfare or keeping government office chairs warm. That's all that counts. If you think this election was bad, wait and see what four years of adding new millions onto welfare and more millions into the thousands of bureaucracies can do to elections.
I don't want to hear all these right wing recriminations they're going to throw at us.If you can't win on reviving the private sector and paring down the deficit, there's no other way to win. Nobody feels a sense of panic with Obama because the media doesn't say what's at stake. To say republicans need to be more like dems is ludicrous, there's no point in having 2 parties.
When you're down to a paltry 112,000,000 people in the workforce while Obama's bragging about 5 million new jobs,it exposes the true disconnect between reality and fantasy in this country.
This wasn't a victory for dem ideas,it was the left's ability to spread their new citizens around to swing states.
To think that there are people stupid and cruel enough to vote to put that sorry sob back in office is eye opening. The dumbing down of some people is complete. We have a second term prez that let Americans die while he made phone calls and went to Vegas, the filth that has another 4 years will bankrupt the USA and anything else he can do. I guess I am not a good sport.
GOP facelift - there was already huge pressure for a third party but everyone stayed put because of the importance of beating Obama. The establishment got their candidate and the co-operation of all the membership. Romney didn't do anything to scare the precious independents or say anything radical. The only thing the GOP has now is the house and it's leadership. Will they do the only thing they can do and not increase the debt limit one penny-and explain why! Their gutless leadership will fold again and Obama will continue having flexibility to destroy everything that is left.
I didn't sleep last night. I am a single woman who works very hard to support herself, working in a business service industry. Unless some sort of miracle happens, the deals we had in the pipeline will dry up as businesses shrink and begin to fold. God is my provider so I am not in complete despair.
What has me grieved to the core of my being is the moral implications of the election and the proof of the complete erosion of America's moral fiber. No matter how I choose to live my life, I will be paying for the behavior of others and to support them in their livestyles - I will be working hard so that other women can murder their children.
America as I loved it no longer, and I am desperately grieved that we are soon to become like Europe.
Typical ma idiot. The republicans have to be more like the dems in order to get elected. Believe me, Brown ran as a liberal dem in this state and he lost. Being more like the insane liberals (they really are nutty as a nutbasket in this state)is not the answer. Unfortunately, for my country, the teachers did not teach their students that socialism has a LOOOONG history of failure. What states are the sane citizens of this country escaping to this morning?
The only problem I see is that some of our elected Republicans failed in their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, domestic and foreign. When they chose compromise instead of pushing back against attacks on our founding principles, it was a slippery slide into the chaos we face today. When they chose cronyism and wealth accumulation as a perk of their position in government, integrity and honor took a nose dive. Normal everyday working Americans stood up and shouted, No more, and the Tea Party was born. Last night we were knocked back on our heels. I see no chance of change until we see leaders who will stand up to this administration and fight for freedom. Gov. Romney fought the fight with honor and courage and God bless him for it. It broke my heart to see him lose because It made me realize that our best hope to turn this around had slipped through our fingers. Now we must travel the hard road.
Sorry guys, but this woman thinks the message in this article is an important one. Yes, the Dems were silly to portray Republicans as anti-woman, but the Republican attempt to win back women was disgraceful. I cringed when Ann Romney stood at the convention shouting, "We love women!" You don't win women by telling them you love them; you win them by specifically saying how your policies will be better for them.
Women generally are the caregivers - for themselves, their children, their elderly parents, etc. The GOP never addressed their issues, frightened away by the false issue of Sandra Fluke. The GOP highlighted women at the convention (which only Republicans watched)...and then hid them away. Mia Love, Kelly Ayotte - dynamite! Where were they after the convention?
Romney's campaign was based entirely on the premise that the economy is in shambles. But the fact is, the economy has been building; slowly, but building, for at least the last year. And our side chose to dismiss the facts as lies by the bureau of labor and statistics, even though there was no evidence of that.
It doesn't matter what the Republican Party does or doesn't do or whether 80% of the population votes for Republicans if the vote counters are ready and willing to commit voter fraud. The fix was in. That's why Zero didn't care how he performed in the debates and why he was so lazy except for partying with JayZ and Beyonce. He didn't care about the massive crowds showing up for Romney/Ryan. He knew the fix was in. And it's only going to be worse in the future. Only God can turn this ship around.
If the wimpy Republicans now cave and allow another liberal Democrat amnesty and "path to citizenship" for up to 20 million illegal aliens, who would then gain the immediate right to bring many additional foreign family members into the USA, and who once they get US voting rights will absolutely vote in overwhelming numbers for the liberal Democrats, how is that going to help the wimpy Republicans win future elections?
Sarah Palin is keeping up the infomercial peddler charge against President Barack Obama, criticizing his “ShamWow” speech in Boston and accusing him of lying to the American people. (Snip) “For starters we anticipated a presidential apology for lying to Americans repeatedly when he promised things like, ‘If you like your current health care plan, you can keep it.’ Make no mistake, he knew he was lying when he said that,” Palin wrote. “Was remorse and sympathy shown for Americans who now can’t afford health insurance thanks to Obamacare? Nope. … Obama didn’t lie to you when he said, ‘if you
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she would be "disappointed" in the American electorate if Hillary Clinton becomes a serious candidate for president in 2016. The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee argued Clinton would not be right for the role as commander in chief after four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, died last year in a terrorist attack against a U.S. consulate in Benghazi. (Snip) She said "anyone who would just throw away 200 years of military ethos and leave our men behind to be murdered" should "never be considered as a commander in chief."
Americans who are fed up with Obamacare won a victory yesterday. The House voted to defund Obamacare while still funding the federal government to avoid a “devastating” shutdown. (I shall not digress, but it’s beyond distressing to hear liberals try to convince Americans that any government slowdown is comparable to “terrorism.”) (Snip) I want no pity. I need no empathy. But use me as a barometer. Over the years, the leftwing media has falsely and irrationally accused me of everything from faking a pregnancy to abetting murder. They lie. Deal with it.
Now we can say it without a doubt: Seattle has the loudest fans in the world. During the Seahawks-49ers game Sunday, the 12th Man broke the Guinness World Record for loudest crowd roar, the record attempt’s organizer said. We have yet to officially confirm the report from former Seahawks player Joe Tafoya, but he tweeted from the field that the record had been broken. Seahawks fans hit 131.9 decibels, according to The Seattle Times, after the Seahawks and 49ers returned to the field from a weather delay. The previous record was 131.76 decibels, set during a 2011 soccer match at
It was an overcast, albeit relatively mild August day by Washington D.C. standards, fifty years ago today, as I joined the thousands walking along Constitution Avenue toward the Lincoln Memorial. Many of those in the crowd who had traveled vast distances by busses and cars from all over the nation, but in particular the deep South, had a look of apprehension bordering on fear, not knowing what to expect from the police and those vehemently opposed to unfettered civil rights. Despite the trepidation and regardless of skin color, nationality or faith all were determined to compel the nation to listen
Sarah Palin joined Eric Bolling on Fox News this morning to take a mini-victory lap over some Democrats suddenly embracing the idea she put forth years ago over health care “death panels.” Palin felt somewhat vindicated, but didn’t want to “condone them… for trying to jump off the Obama train wreck.” She told Bolling that rationing was in the health care law from the beginning, and the Democrats who didn’t notice it until now did not want to look like “buffoons.” (Snip) Palin proudly declared her allegiance to Team Rand, hitting Christie for his “schtick” of “set-up situations”
Back in September of 2008, Sarah Palin spoke at a Colorado Springs rally. During her address, she lamented the all-encompassing power of government sponsored mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. (Snip) She was, of course, pilloried for this. Virtually every mainstream media outlet pounced, accused her of ignorance, and reminded the American people that these were not taxpayer funded entities. Taxpayers simply weren’t a factor.
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
Views of the tea party are at all-time lows in a new poll, as primary challenges to establishment Republicans continue to heat up Washington. Just 30 percent of Americans view the tea party favorably in a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the movement’s lowest point since Gallup began polling about it during its rise in 2010. Also in a first, a majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of the tea party, at 51 percent. Similar numbers of respondents described themselves as proponents or opponents of the tea party: Twenty-two percent identified themselves as tea party supporters, while 24 percent said they
