Welcome to the most anticipated Ldotter Thread since Hanging Chad night in 2000. Feel free to chat in a dignified way. Keep your tempers under control and should the best thing happen, let's celebrate together. It's been a long hard slog. We couldn't have done it without each other.

Welcome everybody

Latest Drudge doesn't mention how Wisconsin is going.

Not very good news on Drudge right now. Hopefully the EPs are wrong.

Reply 4 - Posted by: Bubbasuncle, 11/6/2012 6:07:20 PM     (No. 8993282)

Welcome everyone, not putting much stock in the exit polls Drudge is reporting. We all remember what happened with Bush/Kerry.

Reply 5 - Posted by: NancyD, 11/6/2012 6:08:15 PM     (No. 8993283)

I'm a nervous wreck. Drudge is reporting things leaning BO in major swing states. I don't know how they know that, but it worries me none the less.

Reply 6 - Posted by: VAfreedomluver, 11/6/2012 6:08:18 PM     (No. 8993284)

I'll wait for actual results. I'm not putting any stock in exit polls.

Reply 7 - Posted by: redsox nation, 11/6/2012 6:08:26 PM     (No. 8993286)

The Intrade #'s didn't move at all on the exit polls.

Here's hoping we carry enough to be rid of the corrupt Obama Administration.

Reply 9 - Posted by: drw, 11/6/2012 6:08:46 PM     (No. 8993288)

Long-time GOP operative not necessarily claiming the exit polls are incorrect.

Hopefully the Romney camp isn't in CYA mode for what could be a very long night.

Let the exit polling be wrong again!

Reply 10 - Posted by: rileysmom, 11/6/2012 6:08:47 PM     (No. 8993289)

Drudge just moved OH from O to tossup. I am so nervous, where's my wine?

Reply 11 - Posted by: awen, 11/6/2012 6:09:33 PM     (No. 8993292)

Exit polls are notoriously incorrect. Ask President Kerry.

Buck up folks! It's going to be a long night.

Reply 12 - Posted by: guamdivers, 11/6/2012 6:09:48 PM     (No. 8993294)

I have to echo the nervous wreck comment....

I'm the one who posted two days ago that EPs will be deliberately misleading in one direction because people will lie and pollsters will exploit that. Sure enough Drudge is showing that. Still makes one nervous. Long night.

Reply 17 - Posted by: JoElla Bee, 11/6/2012 6:11:04 PM     (No. 8993301)

Reply 19 - Posted by: horacer, 11/6/2012 6:11:11 PM     (No. 8993306)

Exit polls are garbage. They are bought and paid for by the media using the medias flawed turnout model.

Watch for Prince William County, VA; Lake County, OH and Bucks County, PA. If Romneys winning these he's winning the election.

Reply 20 - Posted by: JoeDanMedia, 11/6/2012 6:11:14 PM     (No. 8993307)

Ignoring the Exits... Saying a lot of prayers.

I will never forget the sick feeling 4 years ago.

I so appreciate this forum.
Right now I am so nervous I can't eat.

Reply 22 - Posted by: iago beets, 11/6/2012 6:11:44 PM     (No. 8993312)

Can't live and die by Drudge. The exit polling could be concerted coordinated propaganda effort. Everyone in swing states VOTE or get down to Republican HQ and MAKE CALLS.

Reply 23 - Posted by: Aubreyesque, 11/6/2012 6:12:37 PM     (No. 8993319)

I keep hearing reports that people have been showing up to the polls to vote only to be told theyve already done so when they havent! What's going on with that and do those people have recourse? Im worried that that is the corruption that is widespread, that someone went in ahead of time and used the info to vote for BO.

Reply 24 - Posted by: St. Pitbull, 11/6/2012 6:13:06 PM     (No. 8993321)

Drudge is teasing. He knows exit polls mean nothing.

Reply 25 - Posted by: Susannah, 11/6/2012 6:13:25 PM     (No. 8993324)

I'm off to make myself a vodka martini. Anyone care to join me?

"Exit Poll Boom For O" screams Drudge...

Then again, the operative phrase is "exit poll."

My day is done at the office. Time to head to my polling place.

3.5 hours making calls with JR next to me at the Romney HQ innHenrico, VA when who comes in, but Paul Ryan. Glad to see our team is leaving it all on the field.

Reply 29 - Posted by: Rumblehog, 11/6/2012 6:14:50 PM     (No. 8993333)

Exit polls are exhibiting "The Wilder Effect". Who wants to say they voted for the white guy in some of these heavily Democrat precincts?

Reply 30 - Posted by: LittleHoodedMonk, 11/6/2012 6:14:56 PM     (No. 8993335)

I am like most people, calm, but guarded because the dRATS have shown their propensity to do dirty tricks at the voting polls at will.

All I can pray for is a clear & indisputable win for Romney with the electoral count.

Reply 31 - Posted by: rileysmom, 11/6/2012 6:15:03 PM     (No. 8993336)

I'll join you with a glass or two or three of fine white wine as soon as hubby gets it here!

Reply 32 - Posted by: youngtexan, 11/6/2012 6:15:06 PM     (No. 8993338)

I'm drinking tea right now. I should be having a Strawberry Martini to keep me calm down. Come on, Romney/Ryan!

Reply 33 - Posted by: Ribicon, 11/6/2012 6:15:06 PM     (No. 8993337)

Let's hope this is the night when the wheels fall off the MSM Lie Machine. Can't see how any sane working person could possibly support the destroyer.

Reply 34 - Posted by: texaspast, 11/6/2012 6:15:08 PM     (No. 8993339)

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and just call Texas for Romney. And Cruz will take the vacant senate seat.

Reply 39 - Posted by: trombo, 11/6/2012 6:16:36 PM     (No. 8993349)

Don't pay attention to the exit polls. There's no winner until the polls close and all the votes are counted.

Reply 40 - Posted by: onashi, 11/6/2012 6:17:16 PM     (No. 8993354)

Worcester, Mass. west side (white collar workers) - long lines at polling place to check in, minimum 1 hour wait all day long. Obama will carry MA, so that vote doesn't matter except to add to popular vote totals. But the Fauxcahontas/Brown race is very close and that has boosted turnout. Doctor-assisted suicide is also on the ballot.

Reply 41 - Posted by: rileysmom, 11/6/2012 6:17:26 PM     (No. 8993357)

Listening to Hugh Hewitt in my office. Too nervous to turn on FoxNews. Unless Michael Barone is on, I can't watch yet.

Reply 42 - Posted by: bcvegas, 11/6/2012 6:17:26 PM     (No. 8993356)

According to the exit polls in 2004, Kerry won easily.

Reply 43 - Posted by: Aubreyesque, 11/6/2012 6:18:04 PM     (No. 8993360)

Which states do we have to worry about?

Reply 44 - Posted by: doublesharp, 11/6/2012 6:18:05 PM     (No. 8993361)

It's all R2 in southern Indiana. Turn out was high. Wish my vote counted more but I did do my part to drag good hearted, big mouthed Richard Mourdock across the senate finish line. Prayers sent.

Reply 45 - Posted by: sillykay, 11/6/2012 6:18:29 PM     (No. 8993364)

Let's keep in mind that people who have actual jobs are just now going to vote

Reply 46 - Posted by: plex, 11/6/2012 6:19:03 PM     (No. 8993366)

All the media types must do is to exit poll in Democrat districts.

Reply 47 - Posted by: waynedavis, 11/6/2012 6:19:10 PM     (No. 8993367)

We pray that Romney wins, but in the end, we know that the Word says that God is the one that sets the leaders in their place. This nation is being tested and unfortunately, is close to 50% of our eligible voters are going to choose someone as clearly bad as Obama, it doesn't say much for our nation.

This country needs to quit seeking entertainment and seek the Lord.

In the end, I am confident God's will will be done.

Looking forward to sharing this evening (night) here with my fellow L-dotters. There is some comfort among like-minded patriots.

Reply 50 - Posted by: maitaisoo, 11/6/2012 6:21:00 PM     (No. 8993375)

The EPs were wrong for Bush/Kerry because Bush was +4 in the last poll prior to election day. This time both candidates are essentially tied. Currently, having a bad feeling about this. Gonna drink my glass wine now and take care of the feelings.

Reply 51 - Posted by: jeremiah29_11, 11/6/2012 6:21:18 PM     (No. 8993377)

Hey folks, don't be nervous! Smoke a joint, have a beer or 10, sit in your window naked and wave at the peeps. It's in God's hands. :-)
Disclaimer. Under no circumstances does this reflect my lifestyle. :-)

I panicked when I saw Drudge...I may not sleep at all tonight. A bath and a glass of wine might help.

Reply 53 - Posted by: formerlyphelps, 11/6/2012 6:21:43 PM     (No. 8993380)

Don't see anything on Drudge to make me nervous yet. There's a long way to go. Let's wait to panic until they actually start calling the states.

Reply 54 - Posted by: Mobyclik, 11/6/2012 6:21:52 PM     (No. 8993381)

It won't be long until we learn if we live in America or Amerika. I'm absolutely serious. I'm 66, I pity the young if it's Amerika.

Reply 55 - Posted by: NY Betsy Rose, 11/6/2012 6:22:38 PM     (No. 8993387)

Will be interesting to see how NY goes. It's a solid for O but the storm has ppl locked in. They're afraid to leave their homes fearing looters. They are also upset at Obama. Upstate is pretty conservative. If NYC vote is down could be a fun outcome for a change. O looks like he wants to lose; R wants to win, but there ARE stolen elections. My prayers are working overtime for Mitt!

Reply 56 - Posted by: Phil_hk, 11/6/2012 6:23:05 PM     (No. 8993388)

The exit polls predicted Al Gore winning as well

In fact it it the exit polls that caused all the problems in that election because demonrats believed them

Reply 57 - Posted by: drw, 11/6/2012 6:23:07 PM     (No. 8993389)

In another Drudge headline: "Virus Breaks Out at NYC Storm Shelter; Refugees Puking in Hallways..."

Not sure what this has to do with anything, but I have nervous energy, and just had to type something, anything.

You understand.

Reply 58 - Posted by: Photoonist, 11/6/2012 6:23:58 PM     (No. 8993394)

The earliest polls (like VA) don't close until 7 pm and immediately afterward we will ONLY be getting exit poll data which may or may not be accurate; remember "President Kerry?"

Reply 59 - Posted by: Gretchen, 11/6/2012 6:24:04 PM     (No. 8993396)

#54, if it is Americka, there will be a lively Resistance.

Reply 63 - Posted by: andyboy, 11/6/2012 6:24:38 PM     (No. 8993403)

Turnout in Republican counties is higher than in 2008, and turnout in Democratic counties is lower. That suggests results that are better than, and different from, what Drudge is suggesting.

Reply 64 - Posted by: NorthernDog, 11/6/2012 6:24:48 PM     (No. 8993405)

This should be fun. I'm expecting an R/R victory. Don't worry about Drudge - he knows how to generate clicks onto his website.
Actual results from a couple states will be rolling in soon.

Reply 65 - Posted by: thewarden, 11/6/2012 6:25:33 PM     (No. 8993410)

Oh man, fell off the diet wagon after the vote--my son and I hit a drive through and I soothed my nerves with chili cheese fries and tacos, then I hit the secret stash of Reeses minis in the pantry... somebody stop me! LOL. Chin up, not much we can do now as it rests in God's hands. Pour a glass of wine and toast R/R. They are good men and ran an exemplary campaign. Here's hoping we did it.

Reply 66 - Posted by: nmanix, 11/6/2012 6:26:35 PM     (No. 8993416)

Drudge went from Exit Polls Tight to Boom For Obama back to Polls Tight.

Reply 67 - Posted by: Bubbasuncle, 11/6/2012 6:26:46 PM     (No. 8993418)

Good point #64.
Juan Williams just hedged his bet on the panel by saying there may be a higher than expected evangelical turnout.

Reply 68 - Posted by: killerbee, 11/6/2012 6:26:48 PM     (No. 8993419)

I've been near tears all day from the stress. I'm so upset and angry about the vote fraud. Democrats are so low it's unbelievable. And blatant. They flip off the whole of American and we can't seem to get anything done about it.

Praying.

Got my Jameson's my Panera vegetarian sandwich, Mark Levin is on the radio. No one I have talked to in Northern VA have seen so many people vote. Lines were 2 hours long in some places.

Even my 82 yr. old mom voted. They gave her a form certifying she needed assistance voting, then they brought a ballot out to the car and let my sister fill it out, at mom's direction. We did our best.

Too much tension for me - watching Megyn "Effie Trinkett" Kelly on Fox, and waiting to see who will live and who will die.

Kirsten Powers, Juan the Ingrate, Steve Hayes leaning to Obama, saying basically that the demonization of Romney worked. Hume saying Romney doing well in VA with govt. workers. Softening us up for a let down?

Reply 77 - Posted by: fembot, 11/6/2012 6:29:30 PM     (No. 8993442)

I've been praying for the last nine weeks, stepped it up nine days ago... today, praying like crazy and fasting for our country.

If anyone would like to join me and just say one little prayer for our beloved country... "Where two or three are gathered in My name, there am I in their midst"... imagine if every Ldotter joined together for just one prayer -- the power would be beyond our imagining.

Come, Holy Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.

#85 - Thank you. Now I'm going back into the kitchen, and I'm going to make the Lord of The Manner and myself a cocktail.

Maybe two.

Welcome all and thanks to Lucianne for the thread! May it stay unassailed by denial of service attacks all evening. But with fortune we need it only until after around 10 pm when we celebrate the acceptance speech of President Romney. I fully expect Stinky to be the first in history to be too snarky to give a concession speech. :-)

I will join #25 in vodka but mine is vodka and orange juice. I also have plenty of munchies adding up to plenty of calories. Agree that tonight is not a night for a diet!

With the huge turn out, let's hope we overcome the margin of fraud. Actually I feel pretty that Romeny and Ryan will clean house.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part
