The Obama apologencia has started their attempt at the rehabilitation of St. Barack. Today’s story by Politico’s Glenn Thrush foreshadows the nauseating talking points that are to come, win or lose. Essentially, Thrush lets a bunch of Obama hired guns and sympathizers reveal for the first time that President Obama was never comfortable with the negative campaign he produced. Apparently, he never wanted to attack Mitt Romney. (Snip) I have two words for those who will peddle this story line: Gag me.
Is the left admitting the negative ads on Romney backfired? They weren't saying this when they accused him of murdering a union worker's wife.Or Bain Capital outsourcing jobs to China under Romney's orders.Haven't GM's parts suppliers been moved overseas so their cars can hit price points to sell? Didn't Obama throw GM's shareholders under the bus as well as Delphi retiree pensions?
I would have liked to see more red meat jabs at Obama by Romney but it appears he chose to run a positive campaign instead. The green loans and grants should have been an easy target for Obama. He was right for not exploiting the Benghazi situation out of respect for the dead people.
Pelosi spent a billion trying to buy back the House and Obama at least $300 million on attack ads and none seemed to have worked.
“In speech-writing meetings, he’s [Obama’s] often the one to suggest the addition of more optimistic, aspirational passages, aides say — even though he has frequently bowed to the counter-argument that he can prevail only by defining Romney in the most negative way possible.
Rather than "rehabilitation," I think this is even worse for Obama.
It makes him sound like a ventriloquist's dummy rather than just your plain everyday puppet on a string.
Saw the piece Rogers was responding to (I think) yesterday at Politico - truly alternative universe stuff.
Roger's point, of course, is that the "notion" (to use a word Obama loves) that our naturally upbeat, cheerful, inspiring, and positive president's listlessness, despondence, and moodiness on the campaign trail grew out of his deep discomfort with the unfortunate political neccesity of going negative on Romney is a bunch of malarkey (to use a term the VP loves - in public settings).
The WaPo pro-Obama posters on this piece all just snark about Republicans whining about tough campaigning - none even address the rehab effort, which was the whole point. There's no real conversing with a sold-out liberal. The Dems have truly become the stupid party.
It's not possible to rehabilitate a false image once it has been uncloaked. What really happened here in the last few months is that the carefully constructed narrative of Barack Obama has finally been deconstructed for everyone to finally see him as he is. And what he is does not look good to the millions who had previously been fooled into believing the false image.
The Narcissist-in-chief thinks he's a cool Michael Jordan-class trash talker and holds Romney in contempt as just another rich white guy who doesn't deserve it and who shouldn't even be challenging Obama. In other words, he's our first president to think in ways totally foreign to the vast majority of America.
So they are telling us Barry is so weak that he can't even control the direction that his campaign takes. Yet they expect us to be ok with him being the leader of the free world. And journalists think they are the smart one?
I just hope I live long enough to see these treasoness, traitors lined up against the wall and shot if their marxist so-called "friends" ever get total control of our Country. If the marxist get that control, these so-called journolists will be disposed of, BECAUSE, if they will betray US, how can the marxists trust them? In other words they are trash.
I've had a child in various forms of elective 'rehab' for years when what she really needed was complete involuntary 'commitment' for a very long time. Methinks the soon-to-be ex-pres would benefit from the latter. He will not go voluntarily.
Must add that I have a certain amount of empathy for his daughters who have been raised by these two angry, bitter, spiteful, marxist parents. What chance do they have?
One needs only to look at the man's face when he talks, and especially WHEN he is off TOTUS.
He was schooled in Marxist/Soviet-style rabble-rousing, aka, "agitation and propaganda." And furthermore, he taught this to as many as possible when he moved to the fertile grounds of Chicago.
I somehow missed Politico's author's name, Glen Thrush. So, when i kept seeing "Thrush", all that came to mind was the evil agency in "Man from U.N.C.L.E."
Here is our greatest problem: a media which --with the exception of Fox News (and of course "new media" and talk radio)-- is thoroughly a tool of the Left. As media-toads began to realize how much power they have to influence opinion (i think most evident in the Clinton years), they began wielding that power with greater and greater frequency until when BO appeared on the scene, there is not a scintilla of objectivity.
Combine this with the ignorance of the masses, the lack of historical knowledge, the death of common sense, and the media can control and mold opinion, and emotion (was going to say "thought," but there's not much of that going on out there).
Said one day to hubby: Dem/Lefties used to have the media in their pockets, now they're deep in their boxers and briefs. --an ugly image. But ugly it is.
If Obama loses--and I hope he does--it will be because of his refusal to move to the center and to focus on the economy, not because of his campaign. The campaign had nowhere to go except negative because O's record was so bad. Bill Clinton played it differently, and won reelection easily.
Remember all the jokes about Slick Lying Willie's presidential library containing only four or five books? If obama is booted out, there will only be the unmentionable foreign book and the Communist Manifesto for his library. All other documents will be redacted, hidden from view, no history allowed. Obams's disgraceful legacy will be called The Cover Up Library. If he wins, the New Media revolution will intensify and perfe'ct to the finest media in the world. The traitorous Old Media Mafia will slowly give up the 24/7 lying. After all, even Diane Sawyer, at one time in her life, was a good American. Maybe some of this basic goodness will come back for most of TV's current crop of Party Line Liars. Maybe the sponsors will wake up and stop paying billions for lies. Obama will not finish out his second term if we are so unfortunate to suffer four more years. Willie was impeached for lesser crimes, and Tricky Dick was boosted out of 2nd term for lesser crimes. There is good nows even in the bad.
What I can't understand is where is the registrar that knew oblamer came to Columbia on a foreign student scholarship? Where are the friends who know he is gay? Where is his SISTER? Where are all the folks from earlier days that knew he claimed to be from Kenya? Where are all the folks that know about his fake SS Numbers? Where are all the folks that know that Marshall is his father? I am just a working stiff but know that if I ran for office folks from my 3rd grade class would remember something about me. How can no one from his past come forward and speak? Can they all be dead or threatened?
Been thinking. Remember how the press treated GWB? All the slander, misinformation etc? What will they do with Romney? And will Romney take it like Bush did? The media is going to tune up and deliver on Romney and 0bama will go into "rehab"? Rehab for 0bama should include...forced truth. Learning respect for the American people...never having to make up apologies for our country. "They're coming to take me away ha ha! They're coming to take me away!" Can't wait for this day to end...
In the meantime, the RNC let the most vulnerable political candidate in history skate with nary a word about his false documents, coke heading, fagging all over Chicago, surrendering his law license, fabricating his entire life history, etc. etc. I sure hope they haven't McCained this election.
There is no rehabilitatin Hussein Obama...if god forbid, he wins I will make it my business to get a groundswell to impeach him for Benghazi.... I'm hoping that mitt will pull this off but there are too many ignorant ,parasitic fools demanding their benefits.
President Barack Obama is flying to South Africa Monday morning to join the emotional extravaganza around the graveside of former president Nelson Mandela, leaving Vice President Joe Biden on his lonesome to attend meetings in the empty White House. The president will board U.S. Air Force One to jet around the world to Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa, while Joe stays behind to keep the lights on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Obama is flying away from supposedly high-priority negotiations to prevent another budget shutdown of Uncle Sam’s federal government, and also from the top-priority effort to rebuild his crashed Obamacare program. He’s
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been in the news fairly often of late, and not just in his home state. The Democrat has been the frequent subject of some admittedly long-shot speculation over a 2016 presidential run if Hillary passes on the ticket. (Personally, I would find a Cuomo candidacy hilarious, not to mention good news for the GOP, when he tried to explain to the rest of the nation how he signed the NY Safe Act, one of the most restrictive and odious gun control laws in the nation.) When he was elected Governor of New York, he
In the late 1930s, as humans managed to launch yet another war that would fail to end all wars, H.G. Wells wrote a series of essays laying out a plan for a better world. Wells, a novelist, reformer and sometime historian, believed that technology could connect people in ways that had never before been possible, joining them in a network and uniting their wisdom into a kind of synaptic and singular mind. The structure Wells imagined would be, he declared, “a sort of mental clearinghouse for the mind, a depot where knowledge and ideas are received, sorted, summarized, digested, clarified,
The story of a special Allied unit dubbed the "Monuments Men" has inspired a Hollywood film set to premier early next year. But who were these men who saved countless European cultural treasures from being lost or destroyed by Nazi forces? It was May 17, 1945, not long after Nazi forces had surrendered, ending Word War II in Europe, when miners dug through the wall of rubble with picks and shovels in Altaussee, Austria. There was a 12-meter thick layer of debris blocking the entrance to the salt mine, and though no one knew what was inside, they all hoped they
SAN DIEGO -- Bob Filner has almost vanished from public view since a defiant resignation speech as San Diego mayor amid widespread allegations that he sexually harassed women. He returns to the spotlight at least once more. The former 10-term congressman will be sentenced Monday for one felony and two misdemeanors for placing a woman in a headlock, kissing another woman and grabbing the buttocks of a third. He pleaded guilty in October in an agreement with prosecutors, who will recommend that he get three months of home confinement and three years of probation. Filner, 71, has avoided even close supporters since
WASHINGTON — The warning resounded through the 2012 presidential campaign. Massachusetts’ groundbreaking health reform, Republican nominee Mitt Romney said, would never work for the country as a whole. Democrats widely dismissed Romney’s comments as politically opportunistic, an effort to distance himself from the plan he backed as governor. Now, given the epic scale of problems that have bedeviled the rollout of President Obama’s plan, some state legislators, insurance and hospital executives, and others around the country are returning to Romney’s refrain. Was the Massachusetts plan, in hindsight, really the best blueprint for the nation? “They should have allowed more flexibility on a state-by-state
In what could be a scene straight out of The Thorn Birds, a once high-ranking priest will finally marry the mother of his child, who happens to be the daughter of a former U.S. ambassador to the Holy See. During his time as a priest, Father Thomas Williams officiated over countless weddings. This weekend, Williams, who left the priesthood in May after admitting he fathered a child out of wedlock, will be on the other side of the altar. The former priest will wed Elizabeth Lev Glendon in a private wedding at an undisclosed location in the United States. Theoretically, the wedding cannot be held in a Catholic church—both because Williams
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
More young men in California rise in pitch at the end of their sentences when talking, new research shows. This process is known as "uptalk" or "valleygirl speak" and has in the past been associated with young females, typically from California or Australia. But now a team says that this way of speaking is becoming more frequent among men.The findings were presented at the Meeting of the Acoustical Society of America in California. "We found use of uptalk in all of our speakers, despite their diverse backgrounds in socioeconomic status, ethnicity, bilingualism and gender," said Amanda Ritchart, a linguist at the University of
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
