| AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka tells The Atlantic's Molly Ball that so-called card-check legislation will happen in a second Obama term: "[...] You'll see it," he says. "That's within the next term." How is that possible, without a Democratic House of Representatives or 60 votes in the Senate? Trumka smiles. His eyes twinkle. "There's another election between now and then," (Snip) The legislation would make it easier for labor unions to organize by abolishing the secret ballot — and was a top labor priority during Obama's first term. And it's one of the enduring sources of tension between the labor movement

To summarize this proposal - Let's say you have 30 employees. One day a union thug shows up with union cards signed by 16 of the 30 employees (perhaps with the help of a little intimidation). Presto! You have a union. You cannot respond.
Then, you have to negotiate immediately with the thugs or a settlement will be imposed on your company.
The end of business as we know it.

Trumka is a short fat thug. He wants to take away the secret ballot. He has marched with Communists.
But tomorrow... I have power.
My vote... my vote...will cancel his vote.
Now you guys keep the tsunami going.

It is because of guys like this and their dues payers that I will never have employees.
I grew up watching employees steal from my father, so when he offered to sell me the business, it was an easy - no thanks!
I learned all their tricks and would have caught them stealing and shirking in the first week. Impulse would have overrode wisdom, and they would have been all gone inside the first month.
If you want to run a business become a one man band. Contract what you can't do yourself and let someone else pay the thieves.

Card Check. Isn't that the Union thug rule where union rank and file members no longer have the right to vote their conscience in private on union matters?
Raise your hand in an open vote against the union and get it broken into an unrepairable mass of crushed bones and sinuew when as you get to your car in the parking lot.
Trumka reminds me way too much of Josef Stalin.

The left loves to remind everyone that the former IRS commissioner was a Bush appointee, because somehow this makes it OK that his IRS office abused power to criminally target conservatives. For a party that loves to blame Bush, they sure love signing off on everything Bush did and then maximizing it times eleventy. Shulman may have been a Bush appointee, but he was an Obama donor: Shulman donated $500 to the Democratic National Committee in 2004. So let’s start calling him “Democrat supporter” Doug Shulman. All this shows is that Bush wasn’t an ideological bigot.

Seven months we’ve been waiting for someone, anyone, to ask the White House staff what was President Obama doing on the night the Benghazi attacks took place. We have researched this on our own and have him tracked from 4pm to around 7:30pm (EST). But after 7:30pm it is a total BLACKOUT – an unknown void of information. Finally after seven MONTHS. Chris Wallace asks White House Communications Director, Dan Pfeiffer, what was President Obama doing. (Snip) they are hiding what actually took place that night. They are desperately trying to cover the President’s intentional uninvolvement.

White House advisor Dan Pfeiffer said “the law is irrelevant” when asked by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos Sunday about whether President Obama thought the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups was illegal: Stephanopoulos: What does the president believe? Does the president believe that would be illegal? Pfeiffer: I can’t speak to the law here. The law is irrelevant. The activity was outrageous (Snip) Stephanopoulos: You don’t really mean the law is irrelevant, do you? Pfeiffer: What I mean is whether it’s legal or illegal is not important to the fact that the conduct doesn’t matter.

Treasury officials were made aware in June 2012 that the IRS inspector general was reviewing the office that handles tax-exempt applications, but a letter from October shows that the inspector general did not highlight the audit as a top concern for the agency. In a memo dated October 15, 2012, to then-Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner about IRS challenges for 2013, Inspector General J. Russell George noted other problem areas, but made no mention of the investigation taking place at the time of the agency´s intense scrutiny of conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status.

It eventually comes down to who — who at the IRS was responsible for targeting conservative and Tea Party groups for special scrutiny. Because, after all, you can’t put a “system” in jail. You can’t put a report in prison. You can’t indict a department for corruption. At the end of the day it’s people who are responsible for using the enormous powers of the Internal Revenue Service to go after other people and groups because of their political beliefs. U.S. Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) told the tale of one of his constituents who applied for tax-exempt status for her Tea Party group in July 2010.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
