As 2012 campaign nears

Relieved to see the long, costly 2012 presidential race end? The 2016 campaign is closer than you think. In some subtle ways, the jockeying to succeed Barack Obama or Mitt Romney already has begun. Democrats know they'll need a new standard bearer regardless of whether Obama is re-elected, and there are plenty of possibilities -- from Hillary Rodham Clinton to New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Comments:
With the Sandy debacle playing out in NYC, Cuomo will have difficulty getting traction. Up to now I thought he was doing pretty good (for a Democrat in NY State) but this is going to be a black mark. Cuomo is already looking for scapegoats.

Dictators tend not to release control of power. The term *suckers* will apply to us all.

I don't think 2016 will be significant at all. If Obama gets reelected, the country is dead. If it's Romney, the democrats are going to be impotent for a long, long time.

Have you seen/heard Andrew Cuomo speak? Sounds as though he is straight out of the projects. What an unattractive, common, unimpressive person he is. No class whatsoever.

Little Andrew will have some bad things to deal with.
He is shacking up with a tv cook.
His wife, Kerry Kennedy, left him for the lawn boy, because Andrew could not meet her 'needs.'
When he was Secretary of HUD, he misplaced 15 billion dollars, which were unauditable.
He played a major role in those subprime mortgages, as did his assintant, Kirsten Gillibrand
He is a baby killing catholic.
Finally, the U.S. is inexorably moving in a conservative direction. A ny thugster will not prevail.

Hillary has a lot of baggage yet. And I do not mean political baggage.

Obama's ego will not allow him to be a one term president. He will be all in in 2016.

That clown Biden has already said he is going to run. He is foolish enough to believe that he will be the nominee. LOL!

Agree with #8, Obama in 2016 with Pelosi as VP.

Well, the Dems are fools if all they are worrying about is 2016. They are going to continue to lose seats in congress in 2014, because Americans in the middle are waking up to leftist policies that are poisoning this great country.

Reply 12 - Posted by: harper, 11/5/2012 1:20:47 PM     (No. 8989778)

Maybe the kneepad media will step out of the shadows, and just run their own candidate.

A minority Dan Rather type of unspecified gender with the approval of at least 3 of the west's worst enemies is a likely starting profile.

If obama wins tomorrow I doubt there will be elections in 2016. He will be following Fidel and Hugo and just be dictator for life.

Can't these people just GIVE IT A REST...for at least ONE DAY!!!

Sorry for shouting, but I'm exhausted by the current election cycle, which has hopefully just one more day, no need to start guestimating about 2016 quite yet...

Every single Dim named here for 2016 is a pathetic retread.

They have no new blood at all. The 60's generation (of whom I am one) is past its sell-by date.

I am not worried. A new generation of tea party inspired, intelligent, fighting young conservatives, is emerging. Paul Ryan is a standard bearer. I look for him to have a young fighting conservative woman as a running mate, too.

President Romney 2012
President Romney 2016
President Ryan 2020
President Ryan 2024

2028 - President Michelle Malkin. :-)

Venezuela´s government said on Wednesday it may not be possible to embalm the remains of late leader Hugo Chavez as planned because the process should have been started earlier. Chavez died last week aged 58 after a two-year battle with cancer. His body has been on display in a glass-topped coffin at a grandiose military academy in the capital Caracas, where millions of people have filed past to pay homage.

Chris Christie, not Rubio,

The GOP´s chances of winning the White House in 2016 are linked more closely to the political fortunes of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie than those of Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida. Rubio is the Tea Party wunderkind who was tapped by Republicans to give the GOP response to President Obama's State of the Union Address. He began his retort with a dusted off reference to his parents' emigration from Cuba to the United States. During his political ascendancy in Florida, Rubio often talked of how his mom and dad fled that Caribbean island after Fidel Castro came to power in 1959.

Fairfax, VA – The group Americans for Limited Government has urged a House subcommittee to defund the West Point Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) after it released a study on terrorism that the organization’s president, William Wilson said is targeted against regular Americans. “Not one more dime of taxpayer money should be wasted on CTC, which is indoctrinating our servicemen and women with brazen propaganda against the American people until this report is denounced and its author terminated from government service,” Wilson wrote in a letter to members of

Obama considering John Kerry

President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus. Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with the transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. John O. Brennan, Obama’s chief counterterrorism adviser, is a leading contender for the CIA job if he wants it,

President Obama´s remarks today about the so-called "fiscal cliff" set the stage for a showdown with Congress likely to last for the next few months. Obama set one line in the sand: revenue. He announced that he would compromise with Republicans, but would not give up his insistence that high-income Americans pay more taxes as part of any long-term deficit solution. Interestingly, Obama´s remarks were not predicated on the assumption that the two sides would strike a deal before January. In fact he assumed they would not, and his message was designed to be repeated through the new year.

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

A Washington state Democrat is accusing Republicans of “throwing American infrastructure … under the bus” after a bridge collapse there this week. The portion of Interstate 5 in Washington that runs over the Skagit River collapsed on Thursday after a truck hit an overhead support structure, but Rep. Jim McDermott (D-Wash.) cited the incident in an interview as proof Republicans were blocking infrastructure investment to hurt President Obama politically. “Well, they have clearly spent the whole last five years trying to tear the president down, but they have done it by throwing the American infrastructure and
