Media Favoritism May Be Hurting Obama
American Spectator, by J.T. Young

This election's X-factor may be a gift to Romney from the mainstream media. It is the suppression of public expression of support for him. However, while pre-election polls may not have been fully recording it, Election Day may finally capture Romney's true support level for the first time -- to Obama's ultimate detriment. If this theory of media-suppressed Romney support sounds unlikely, think again. The enormous fluidity of Independents' support has been the hallmark of the last two national elections. In 2008, Obama carried Independents 51% to 43%, en route to a 6.3% popular vote victory margin over McCain.

I've never been able to watch obama on TV, even when he was running against Hillary. For me, listening to him was like listening to nails on a chalkboard.

But for folks who like that winy, scolding tone, rambling on about nothing, obama must be getting pretty old. Time for somebody new. Time for Mitt Romney.

I think there's a downside to the skewed polls.. the media believe that they can influence people to vote for barry, but the opposite can also be true. Barry's on the fence supporters won't show up to vote if they think their votes aren't needed.

I've always believed that there's a "Silent Majority"...they're usually in hibernation, suddenly waking up when they feel government tugging at their wallet...then they open it up to find it empty.

Not listening to any pundits or reading any conservative writers who are not positive. Am praying and voting. That is the best I can do. Wrote a letter to editor of our town paper in favor of R/R. I urge all to do this. My letter just asked questions. Do you want four more years of leading from behing: Benghezi, etc. Do you want the largest tax in history to take effect. Do you want incompetent party guy in White House? etc. You can also write letters. Is better than doing nothing.

People know the conclusions that the media want them to reach. They also know the answers they are supposed to give. For both reasons, they may still be giving that answer to pollsters now, suppressing Romney's support.

In other words, the Bradley Effect is in play.

I call 'em what they are: the Prostitute Press... they won't like it. They do like being called Elite, Mainstream, Legacy, even Drive By (hat tip to Limbaugh) evokes a certain danger that pleases them. They are nothing but a bunch of prostitutes for the forces arrayed against this country.

Rush's whole schtick in the beginning was, "I'll tell you the news and what to think about it." He combined with it a persona of pomposity and arrogance.

I didn't 'get it' until I read his first book, The Way Things Ought To Be. In it he skewered the likes of Peter Jennings, Dan Rather and the rest of the baritone-voiced, network anchor blowhards and their straight left 'reporting'.

Fast foreward to today's flailing coverup by the media. Benghazi is likely to be the Mt. Vesuvius that covers the media's Pompei with hot ash.

Has the IRS Already Seized

As gratifying as it was to see the “news” media actually do its job last week when the IRS scandal broke, it was also odd that the coverage focused exclusively on abuses of power relating to various Tea Party and anti-abortion groups. A much scarier IRS story has been virtually ignored by the establishment press. On Wednesday, it was reported that a class-action lawsuit had been filed against a group of IRS agents who, according to the complaint filed by “John Doe Company” in the Southern District of California, “stole more than 60,000,000 medical records of more than 10,000,000 Americans

ONE OF THE BIGGEST questions hanging over the health-care system is how many young Americans will sign up for coverage once the Affordable Care Act begins to phase in this October. If too few buy insurance on the markets that the government is creating, insurance companies would be stuck covering primarily the the old and the sick. They would have to pay out more per customer. Their customers, in turn, would have to pay more to those companies for coverage. The stakes for the Health and Human Services Department, which is overseeing the transition, are tremendous.

You can argue that Republicans have blocked President Obama from doing just about anything. You can argue that he´s had bad luck. You can argue that he isn´t always the greatest orator. But you can´t argue away that the Department of Justice took the unprecedented step of seizing phone records from the Associated Press. Or the flimsy rationale justifying drone attacks abroad and at home. Or the bizarre step the Pentagon has taken to expand the ability of the military (Snip) These are actions that President Obama and his top team have taken on their own.

The Benghazi Emails´ Backside-Covering
Washington Post Writers Group, by David Ignatius    Original Article

WASHINGTON -- The hundred pages of Benghazi emails released last week tell us almost nothing about how four Americans came to die so tragically in that Libyan city. But they are a case study in why nothing works in Washington. Rather than reading these messages for their substance on Benghazi (on which officials were still basically clueless three days after the attack), try perusing them as an illustration of how the bureaucracy responds to crisis -- especially when officials know they will be under the media spotlight.

It must get confusing in the IT department at the Associated Press: Are you talking about the hackers who hacked our Twitter account or the Justice Department hackers who hacked our phones? Monday, the Associated Press reported that the Justice Department had secretly obtained two months of records of phone conversations by its reporters. Meanwhile, the Washington Post revealed that the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative groups was more widespread than first reported. (Snip)The Obama administration is doing a far better job making the case for conservatism than Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, or John Boehner ever did.

Lois Lerner, the senior IRS official at the center of the decision to target tea party groups for burdensome tax scrutiny, signed paperwork granting tax-exempt status to the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a shady charity headed by the president’s half-brother that operated illegally for years. According to the organization’s filings, Lerner approved the foundation’s tax status within a month of filing, an unprecedented timeline that stands in stark contrast to conservative organizations that have been waiting for more than three years, in some cases, for approval.

Last week, Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell ostentatiously announced their intention to fight implementation of the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). They sent a letter to the President decrying the way IPAB will “impact America’s seniors … in the absence of the democratic process.” Sadly, the exercise was a charade. McConnell and Boehner know perfectly well that Obama has no intention of setting up this controversial board until after 2015.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen.
