Has Sandy saved President Obama?
Comforter-in-chief takes center
stage in Atlantic City (while
Romney is left on sidelines)

Daily Mail [UK], by Mark Duell

Original Article

President Obama took time out from the campaign trail yesterday to visit a stretch of the devastated New Jersey coast and take on a role of comforter-in-chief that could be a major boost to his hopes of re-election next week. The President was accompanied by New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican bruiser and Mitt Romney backer who showered him with effusive praise for his handling of Superstorm Sandy, giving President Obama a bipartisan sheen that aides believe could help him secure victory on Tuesday. Leaving Republican presidential candidate Mr Romney on the sidelines holding campaign events

Comments:
Just because 0bama is pretending to be a leader it doesn't make him one. With all due respect, Romney is not left on the sidelines. Fox is running his speech right now from Virginia.

Romney was throwing campaign money at supplies and help for Sandy victims. Media trashed him for doing that

What does this article do besides throw those who are prone to panic into a new panic? The media sells news, and they are selling doom and gloom and they are in the business of playing on people's emotions.

The simple answer to the article title is NO!

Gas line, power outages, raw sewage, fire--I don't think so.

It might have helped barack husein a wee bit if it did the exact opposite and hit mostly red states. It is hard to be missing in action during the Benghazi treachery and then claim to be "present" for others after the storm.

People in FL don't care what he is doing for NJ after a storm. We care about what he is doing TO America every remaining day he is in office. The debates sealed the deal - it's over people.

Anybody can see through Obama's acting/phoniness as he pretends to care for storm victims! Way too little and way too late and he will booted out of office next week!

Yesterday's news. Unending LSM visual assault of Jersey Shore footage to serve as some kind of Liberal Firewall doesn't equal JOBS.

Also yesterday's news: Romney leading the Marxist by 6-7 %

Print that.

Wow, he spends half a day in NJ, which will vote for him anyhow, does a quick flyover in a helicopter to survey the damage (the same type Bush was bashed for), and they think this will suddenly propel Obama?

Don't think so, and today he's already off somewhere else not worrying about what's happening in a state he'll likely win.

Reply 11 - Posted by: faldo, 11/1/2012 11:00:48 AM     (No. 8979477)

The footage I viewed of him had his hands in his pockets with a big ole grin. O-boy doesn't give a darn about citizens in distress--what a phony...what a phony political party.

D-rats will soon become an endangered species in state and national politics--we will all be better for it!

The problem is that on some subliminal level, seeing Obama walk around in a wrecked America just resonates somehow. The visuals from this are not really going to help him.

Video of his staged visitation may or may not have any effect on Obama. His supporters will see it as being Presidential, and others will see it as the campaign ploy that is was.

But, from a political standpoint, Christie is no longer a viable republican product as to his national aspirations.

No, Sandy hasn't saved Obama... nothing will. What continues to astonish, though, is how the sycophants in Europe continue to cling to and root for this failure of an Empty Suit.

The big Zero is out there preaching to his choir!. Those northeastern States are all going to vote for him anyway. I can tell you for sure he is not making any sparks in Texas with his showing off in New Jersey.

#15 - The reason Europe supports Obama is because they only hear the hype of how great he is, and only hear the propaganda of how terrible Romney is. They have no first hand experience and don't believe it when we tell them otherwise, because they've been brainwashed by the leftie media there.

Reply 19 - Posted by: jerseytomato, 11/1/2012 11:54:25 AM     (No. 8979687)

No, Sandy hasn't 'saved' Obam - 'Sandy' isn't the only thing that has devistated this state. We have Lautenberg and Menendez. Need I say more?

I'm here at the New Jersey Shore, and have experienced first hand, the devistation Sandy left behind. Obama may have shown up for a photos op, but his appearance didn't alleviate a single factor in our emergent situations.

Its no secret that New Jersey has less than a stellar reputation, however, I would appreciate fellow L-Dotter's prayers - instead of snide remarks.

There are many Conservtives here in Jersey, who will swim if necessary, to vote Republican. Moreover, there are plenty of lifelong Demorats, Jewish Democrats to be specific, who will vote Republican for reasons too many to list in this post.

Today, we need your prayers. We will rebuild, and we will make it to the polls on November 6th.

# 19 Our hearts go out to you and you are in our prayes. All the best to you.

Zippy has played the shell game for four years. Whew..look at the damage by Sandy. Forget Libya.

Reply 21 - Posted by: Echohawk, 11/1/2012 2:36:00 PM     (No. 8980171)

A more likely scenario: NY,NJ,MD, and DE are blue states that will go to Obama on Tuesday. But when people are cold, hungry, and their houses and cars are flooded, not as many will stand in line to vote on Tuesday. Their polling places might not even be open.
So...if Obama was hoping to win the popular vote and use that as leverage against Romney's electoral college vote, that won't happen.
I think you're wrong, #13. Gov. Christie is helping the people in his state, no stone unturned. If that means chummy-ing up to Obama, so be it.
Godspeed, #19. You know we're all praying for you and your family.

In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama appeared on CNN´s Larry King Live and called on U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign. Obama said Gonzales was acting more like the president´s attorney than the people´s attorney and viewed himself as an "enabler of the administration." "Well, I voted against Alberto Gonzales confirmation for precisely the reason we are seeing now. I said this on the floor of the senate, that although he seemed to be a capable attorney, he seemed to conceive his role as being the president´s attorney instead of being the people´s attorney," Obama said.

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
