| Two women from the Dominican Republic told The Daily Caller that Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez paid them for sex earlier this year. In interviews, the two women said they met Menendez around Easter at Casa de Campo, an expensive 7,000 acre resort in the Dominican Republic. They claimed Menendez agreed to pay them $500 for sex acts, but in the end they each received only $100. The women spoke through a translator in the company of their attorney, Melanio Figueroa. Both asked that their identities remain obscured for fear of reprisals in the Dominican Republic.

Comments: Well, well. Dems keep getting caught because they're so cheap. Wonder how this will shake up the election.

The guy leads by 20% on RCP so maybe his lead will be cut back to 15%. What if he had been found in bed with Snookie?

Another jackass stiffing a whore. You'd think Menendez would have learned from the Secret Service caper in Colombia, but noo, his only thought was of getting some easy nookie himself on the cheap, too. His mind stopped at the cheap part and the consequences never occurred to him.

If Menendez was pulling capers and stunts of this sort in the DR, you can BET Bubba Clinton was, too. Both Cartagena and Santo Domingo are his watering holes.
Coincidence? I think not.

I can believe the story and yet ask what is the point?
Two DR pros with an attorney complain they didn't get paid as agreed and/or "Bob" didn't seem so loving after he had banged them?
Gee, that never happens.
Sounds like Senator Menendez is well suited for his day job.

I gotta say, I think this is a non-starter. A big *yawn*.
Single Dem Senator pays hookers for sex in a foreign country. Big whoop.
Only two points worthy of consideration, imho: 1) Did he use taxpayer funds to pay (shortchange) them? 2) The hypocrisy. Didn't he say the Secret Service guys should be fired?
Other than that...who cares?

Chalk up one for me. All hype non-story. A politician hires hookers and promises them $500 each. He (censored vulgarity)them, and then goes back on his word and pays only $100. One girl said he acted like he didnt care about them. Ok, so where is the "man bites dog" in this story? It isnt there. It is a crooked politician doing what crooked ploiticians do. I hope nobody stayed awake for this.

Uh, yawn. Democrats should not be removed from power because of their private lives, but because they are anti-American socialists. So long as coupling with hookers is not acceptable but being an anti-American socialist is, we will have problems with Democrats in power.

Since Vitter got to stay (and he was married) and was re-elected, Republicans can't talk. We let that happen. Thing is Vitter had been talked about for high office. No longer. Same will probably be true with Menendez - though he is divorced and was a country with legal prostitution. Vitter had lots of high priced call girls right in D.C.

This is apparently the "big sex scandal in one of the campaigns, involving a prominent seator" that Drudge was teasing on his site yesterday.
Problem is that with the Democrats this is expected behavior. Par for the course. Choose your own cliche.
It's also no surprise that he was dishonest with these hookers. He's had lots of practice.

Here's why it's important:
Joe Kyrillos hopes to score a major upset in November in his race against New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez.
This is no easy feat for the Republican state senator. The two most recent polls of the race — from Fairleigh Dickinson and Monmouth Universities — put him 12 and 9 percentage points behind Menendez, respectively. But Kyrillos says he’s not deterred.
“It’s not a normal election year, it’s not a normal New Jersey year because the country’s hurting,” he told The Daily Caller in a phone interview.

This will have little to no impact. He's not only a Democrat, he's a New Jersey Democrat.

He's a Demon-RAT. He is not expected to have any moral values, so this won't effect his standing with the voters in the least.
Sadly, the only time a Demon-RAT and sex would make news is if they found one that was actually faithful to his wife...

NASA´s Hubble Space Telescope has snapped a spectacular new image of an iconic nebula to celebrate its 23 years of peering deep into the heavens. The Hubble observatory, which launched on April 24, 1990, captured the Horsehead Nebula in infrared light, peering through obscuring veils of dust to reveal the object´s hidden features. "The result is a rather ethereal and fragile-looking structure, made of delicate folds of gas -- very different to the nebula´s appearance in visible light," mission officials wrote in an image description today

Roger Ebert loved movies. Except for those he hated. For a film with a daring director, a talented cast, a captivating plot or, ideally, all three, there could be no better advocate than Roger Ebert, who passionately celebrated and promoted excellence in film while deflating the awful, the derivative, or the merely mediocre with an observant eye, a sharp wit and a depth of knowledge that delighted his millions of readers and viewers. “No good film is too long,” he once wrote, a sentiment he felt strongly enough about to have engraved on pens. “No bad movie is short enough.”

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is sharing his regrets about his "fiscal-cliff" strategy, less than a month after the House bitterly swallowed a last-minute deal hatched in the Senate. In a private speech to the Ripon Society on Tuesday, Boehner said that he should have taken a different course after the November election by immediately demanding that the Senate produce a bill to avert the worst parts of a combination of tax increases and spending cuts that were due to hit on Jan. 1. Instead, Boehner delivered a formal speech at the Capitol on the day after President Obama won a second term,

Beyoncé did not sing the national anthem live at President Obama’s inauguration. Millions of viewers around the world were stunned by the singer’s spectacular rendition of the anthem but The Times has learnt that she was lip-syncing to a pre-recorded backing track. A spokeswoman for the Marine Corp Band said it was standard procedure to record a backing track and Beyoncé decided shortly before her performance to rely on the studio version rather than risk singing it live on the Capitol.

On Jan. 8, 1968,Otis Redding´s "(Sittin´ on) the Dock of the Bay" was released on Stax´s Volt label. Co-written by Redding and guitarist Steve Cropper, the single reached No. 1 on Billboard´s pop chart in March 1968, where it remained for four weeks. Two Grammys followed, along with the song´s induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1998. Redding never heard the single. On Dec. 10, 1967—just 18 days after the recording session—the 26-year-old singer died in a plane crash in Wisconsin, killing everyone on board except Ben Cauley, the trumpeter in his band.

In October we showed you this video, of a Norwegian kicker named Havard Rugland and his amazing kicking skills. The compilation exploded across the Internet and currently has nearly one million views. Even some NFL scouts took notice. And, to say the least, they were impressed. So the scouts asked kicking coach and former NFLer Michael Husted to work with Rugland in San Diego. After some training Rugland, who has never played American football, recently had a tryout with the New York Jets. "It went well," Rugland told Norwegian state broadcaster NRK. "They tested me on field goals and kickoffs. Source name corrected by staff.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
