The Get Along to Git-Along
Buoys of New Jersey

We knew even before its landfall that Hurricane Sandy would be fully exploited by election-bound politicians.[Snip]It was only yesterday that Christie had criticized Atlantic City mayor Lorenzo Langford as a “rogue mayor” for supposedly encouraging residents to ride out the storm in designated shelters rather than leave the area entirely (TodayNews.today.com, Oct. 31, 2012). “I feel badly for the folks in Atlantic City who listened to him and sheltered in Atlantic City, and I guess my anger has turned to sympathy for those folks, and we’re in the midst now of trying to go in and save them,”

SOme people are auspet that Gov Christie is not denigrating Obama and inviting Romney. Romney is not president (yet). The best he could do is promise aid in 2.5 months.

Sorry. Watching Christie in the last flooding in NJ disqualified him as pres material for me. He is a very entertaining pol, but lacks backbone.

Christie - if nothing else - is a pragmatist. He knows that Obama has power now and if he wants immediate attention and funds he has to kiss the ring of whoever sits on the throne.

No different from those on Wall Street who kowtowed to Obama after his election. With power comes financial aid or consideration. That's politics, no matter who is in power. And if Christie can get faster Fed reaction by making nice, I imagine if I lived in NJ I'd be happy to see and hear this.

We two were talking this morning - this is a different scene than when a hurricane hits here in FL. These people are looking at really cold and nasty weather possibly hitting soon. November starts tomorrow. They have to face the added disaster of winter looming around the corner. I say leave Christie alone, he's doing what he has to do for his constituency. And if - along the way - it burnishes his reelection chances, that's the business of New Jersey...

On Spanish language TV there is a program called El Gordo Y La Flacca. It is hosted by a fat guy and a rail-thin woman. I do not understand enough Spanish to really comprehend the program, but it seems like silly, thin-gruel kind of stuff from the video portion. Somehow this photo reminds me of that program.

Two buddies laughing and playing in the water while the rest of NJ is sinking. Cute!

Has the U.S. government deprived you of your rights? If so, please do not think that you are helpless or at the mercy of the political justice system anymore. You have legal remedies to pursue. It’s RICO time. Last week I told you that if you were looking for a political judicial solution, such as congress, the Justice Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), impeachment or a special prosecutor, to hold the corruption coming out the Obama administration accountable, including from the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) and National Security Agency (NSA) for abusively targeting and harassing specific Americans, Christians

With iconic hero Nelson Mandela in declining health, it’s time for President Barack Hussein Obama to go for the photo op of all time. America in Decline will spend $60-100 million for the Obama Act called “reinforcing U.S. commitment to forging strong relationships with emerging democracies in sub-Saharan Africa”. Mercifully, Barack, Michelle and their two daughters won’t get to gad about in safari togs, pictures of which would have been sent out worldwide, as the safari they planned as part of the trip has been nixed over too many reporters asking why it was necessary.

Urgent. While some Tea Party groups testified at the House Ways and Means Committee Hearing last week over the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) abuse of power for targeting and harassing them and approximately 500 other conservative groups when they sought tax-exempt status, if you are looking for a political judicial solution, such as congress, impeachment or a special prosecutor to solve the tsunami of unlawful acts coming out of Washington, you are looking in the wrong place. What the IRS did tilted President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election in his favor.

Obama sitting back and waiting

Just like one President Barack Hussein Obama, I sit here this morning waiting for the first wave of panic to hit. Yesterday British newspaper The Guardian dragged out of mothballs life-changing information about how the National Security Agency (NSA) is collecting phone records of millions of Verizon telephone customers, on a daily basis. That was the big news of the morning. Later the same day, it was revealed—by the same newspaper—that NSA taps into user data of Facebook, Apple, Google and Skype, among others. “They quite literally can watch your ideas as you type,” warned (the almost gleeful) Washington Post.

When “Big Brother is Watching You” was the cold war mantra of the day, there were no cellphones, no iPads, no satellite communications of any kind in the hands of the unwashed masses. Today Big Brother is not watching you, he’s stalking and harassing you—right in the place you call home. There’s nowhere to hide; nowhere to run to and no one to turn to in a world where a government that has learned how to slip being held accountable has all the tools on its side. When Michelle Obama threw a hissy fit at an up to $10,000-a-plate Democratic National Committee fundraising dinner last night, approximately 200 Democratic Party loyalists egged her on. In an incident that proves that the Obama administration, which will sic the IRS on the Tea Party and other conservatives who dare to criticize their policy, we now have proof they’ll sic Michelle on Dems and their supporters who will be silenced too. As an indicator to show how far the left has gone in exchanging independence for fawning the crowd who witnessed the First Lady’s temper tantrum

When the Obama administration started to pursue whistleblowers they took it to a whole new level than previous administrations by going aggressively after the journalists—the government watchdogs, and their whistleblowing sources by misusing government agencies. We saw it recently with Attorney General Eric Holders’ Justice Department targeting of FOX News reporter James Rosen and by secretly collecting two months of telephone records from reporters and editors at The Associated Press. The question that must be asked and answered now is does the National Security Agency (NSA) domestic surveillance program apply to the U.S. citizens

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:

Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels. President Barack Obama made the pledge earlier this week after the U.S. claimed it found ´conclusive evidence´ Assad´s regime has used chemical weapons against the rebel forces--which includes the most extreme Sunni Islamists--and has called for Britain and France to back the move. While Britain hasn´t made a guarantee either way as yet, more than 350 Royal Marines are being sent to Jordan

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans
