| Mayor Rahm Emanuel spent the weekend campaigning in Ohio for President Obama – but you won’t get the mayor’s press team or the Obama press team to say just where he spent his time, whom he met with and what he had to say. We've asked. A Google search reveals a cookie crumb trail of events for the Chicago mayor in Ohio this weekend. Emanuel visited suburban Cleveland, Youngstown and Toledo during a trip through the Rust Belt swing state currently acting as Obama's firewall. He may have been among the final campaigners.

FTA: the mayor bristled at the suggestion that his time may have been more valuable to a Chicago under seige of violence than to a swing state twice removed from Illinois.

Mary Ann Ahern was openly snubbed by Rahm during his first days in office. She's covered City Hall for years.
Daley was relatively friendly with the local press and Rahm most definitely is not. He doesn't answer most questions and simply turns and walks away while they are talking....not going over big.
Few people in the city have any loyalty to him and it will be interesting...given that most city workers (police/fire in particular) can't stand him...how big a (legitimate)vote turnout for Obama he can produce.
If they stay home...or secretly vote Romney, Barak's in trouble in Illinois.

Under the quiz show´s time-honored format, Biden provided the answers for questions about the first vice president to serve (John Adams), the first vice president to resign (John C. Calhoun), the first veep to ascend to the presidency (John Tyler), and the fact that the veep´s official residence is at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. Biden also provided the clue for a Daily Double: "The vice president is a member of the board of regents of this, ´America´s attic.´" The question: "What is the Smithsonian?"

First lady Michelle Obama hung out with a "big time star" and jammed to the Godfather of Soul, but brought a serious message to students at a once-troubled Washington elementary school Friday.(snip)The first lady toured a pre-K classroom and a fifth grade arts class during her visit. In the pre-K class, she joined the four and five-year-olds in a game where they dance, and freeze in positions shown on flash cards when the music stops. She spent about 15 minutes in the class, dancing to James Brown´s "Gonna Have Funky Good Time".

The president may have forgotten something as he boarded Marine One this morning. On his way to the U.S. Naval Academy graduation ceremony on Annapolis, Md., President Obama didn’t return the salute of the marine standing guard at the door of Marine One, as he climbed the steps to the helicopter cabin. Obama soon ducked his head out, waved to the pilot, and jaunted back down the stairs to address the marine, shaking his hand. In the short video clip, one can’t hear the two men talking, so it’s unclear what exactly was said.

Put aside the politics, and the question of who-knew-what-when. There are two policy problems highlighted by the controversies at the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Justice. The first is the growth of 501(c)(4) groups into vehicles for anonymous and unlimited political spending. The second is the Obama administration’s overzealous prosecution of leaks. Unfortunately, for those who would like to see these policy problems resolved, the wrong party is angry about them and the wrong party is complacent.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.
