AC-130U Gunship was On-Scene in Benghazi,
Obama Admin Refused to Let It Fire (Updated)

If you don’t get torches-and-pitchforks irate about this, you are not an American: The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Specter gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights. The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive.

Obama betrayed the heroes on the ground.
So this is why Obama has been lying, blame shifting and frantically covering up for 6 weeks.
The complicit mainstream media will attempt to make this outrage go away, but fail.

Panetta, Hillary, Carney, the 'intelligence' chief and the complicit mainstream media have all tried to divert attention from the hard reality of this Obama betrayal in Benghazi.

We need to get these scum out of the White House.

The Benghazi Bullsitter took three months to grant McChrystal's request for more troops. He delayed the Gulf oil clean up for months. He delayed the Keystone Pipeline until it died. He continues to block agreements with Congress. The guy is a worthless doorstop with hair that only knows how to be an obstruction in the way of something good for the country, so if anyone wants to know what will happen if Israel is attacked, this should give you some idea. Israel would be in cold ashes before this President would even consider sending help.

Unbelievable dereliction of duty and a case of total moral bankruptcy. If this is true, it will only take one news cycle on Fox for the Administration to start firing people as they go into full-blame mode. This October surprise was all of Obama's making.

Everyone is focused on Barry and overlooking the whole string of cowardice that is trailing behind him. All of you military lovers out there had better understand that if you ever need to exercise your 2nd Amendment rights against the government, you'll have Soldiers and LEO in your sights. The cowards (yes, COWARDS!) who let these men die didn't have the balls to do the right thing. Gary Gordon and Randy Shugart knew they faced almost certain death in Mogadishu, but had to go into action anyway. It's who they were. The two men in Benghazi who disobeyed orders and went into the fight anyway were doing what was right despite the eventual outcome. The COWARDS who could have stopped the terrorists but chose not to disobey BAD ORDERS should have to pay with their career and be forced to live in shame. Most military members today don't know the difference between a good order and a bad one, or if they recognize a bad one will not do anything about it. I fought these people for over 20 years and was lucky to make it as high as I did.

In order to force the MSM to acknowledge this tragedy there must be a "march" on the White House.

One massive protest demanding to know the truth can not be ignored by the people.

So who might be best at putting such a protest together BEFORE the election?

The article states that the SEAL would have never used the Laser designator unless there was either an AC-130 or an armed Predator in theater.

FTA: Only two places could have called off the attack at that point; the WH situation command (based on POTUS direction) or AFRICOM commander based on information directly from the target area.

Rep Chafitz (R-Utah) met with AFRICOM and asked him why he didn't provide support.

"Because no one asked me to."

General Patton or Admiral Halsey would have smacked the starch out of that pussyass General. Sadly, everyone over 0-6 in today's military fits that description. PC has ruined our military.

I've been saying for a long time, when obit says we can't do something, do it anyway. He knows nothing and does not rate being listened to and obeyed. I don't mean to make light of the Benghazi situation, but it will need to start happening big time, if he gets re-elected.

I believe the truth about Benghazi is far worse than what we've learned.

I've read and reread the article. (perhaps I need more coffee). But I don't see where it says the gunship was in the air over Benghazi.

Of course it should have been. Readily available, possible and should have been a routine early response.

#30...If that SEAL was actively “painting” a target; something was on station to engage! And the decision to stand down goes directly to POTUS!

The seal was "painting" a target with a laser. Also from the article but paraphrased, this was not the kind of laser used in a powerpoint presentation. This laser locks into a gunship like the AC-130U. If it wasn't there and engaged he could not have "painted" it.

For Obama election day can not come soon enough. The more time between now and election day the more that will be exposed and his numbers to go down.

He should thank his lucky stars Hurricane Sandy is going to disrupt the east coast. If it weren't...I believe there would be a protest of the masses on the Washington Mall if it weren't for the weather.

Those focusing on Valerie Jarrett are going for the misdirect...yes she was in the room and is dirty, but the National Security Advisor is Tom Donilon, #2 under Gen Jones until Jones left claiming Donilon has little respect for the military. FannieMae VP lobbying the Hill for years, Pres. #13 is on to something. I understand and support the concept of the chain of command and civilian control of the military. However, it amazes and disappoints me that NO ONE below the criminal Obama in the chain of command didn't say, "Screw this" and do something to assist those brave men in Benghazi. Order the AC-130 (if it was there) to fire; order a low-level "show of force" flyby by a Navy F/A-18. SOMETHING. Panetta, Dempsey, General Ham- all moral cowards.

Unfortunately the last poster doesn't really understand the wusses in our govt right now. My husband, who served in Navy, said that the military will probably use the fact that the 2 SEALS disobeyed orders to deny their families the pensions due to someone who dies while fighting. I know this isn't about the $, but the powers will try to get back at these guys somehow

Reply 39 - Posted by: Italiano, 10/27/2012 12:13:31 PM     (No. 8967084)

Come to think of it, #36 is likely spot on. Donilon is an alumnus of Warren Christopher's old law firm. He probably learned from the Master Appeaser.

But without question Jarrett had a major role in the decision.

A laser designator's beam is coded, and a weapon system is programmed with that code before release. The designators can also provide coordinates for GPS-guided weapons.

In the absence of worthwhile information, speculation abounds. So I will wonder aloud, "does the drone video show Spooky on-station?"

#26 Griffin attributed the quote to Gen Ham who assumed command of AFRICOM in March 2011 just in time to playout Zero's lead from behind strategy in Libya replacing W's/Condi's man Gen Ward who undoubtedly refused to play ball...anyone notice the quiet announcement last week re Gen HAM BEING REPLACED and a successor nominated by Zero for Senate confirmation? And re #39, as I adjust my tinfoil hat, Libya is about 1 thing, money. Ghadaffi amassed $260billion in his sovereign wealth fund just in the 5 year period following sanctions being lifted. 40% of that was undermanagement by a US investment bank...Donilon knows the money game from FannieMae and would not want to upset the new folks taking charge in Libya by shooting up Benghazi...

Reply 43 - Posted by: frodo, 10/27/2012 12:51:27 PM     (No. 8967209)

OK. The fact that the target was laser painted doesn't equate to an C-130U being in the sky at that time.

It does mean the operator thought one might be and certainly had a reasonable expectation that one was.

In the absence of evidence to the contrary, I suggest that we assert an AC-130U could have been in the area and should have been. We need to be precise in our statements or lose credibility.

An AC-130U gunship is a fairly rare bird that is in high demand around the world. Since the USA supposedly does not have a military presence in Libya, why would a AC-130U just happen to be flying over Benghazi on the evening of 9/11/12 as the US consulate was being attacked?

Reply 49 - Posted by: LadyVet, 10/29/2012 7:50:51 PM     (No. 8973254)

I think I read that there were two C130s in Libya and one was removed when the wise ones in D.C. decided that the place was secure and did not need further security. Then there was one left and that is the C130 that left Tripoli after the assault started, bearing several security types including Glen Doherty. At the time that Woods used the laser to pinpoint the enemy unit, he was with Doherty and they knew that a C-130 was in the area because Doherty had arrived on it.

The Obama administration’s sudden plunge into scandal territory has two aspects — the actual and the political. The first, and most important, has to do with what actually happened. Why did the administration promulgate a false account of the terror attack on Benghazi? Why did the Internal Revenue Service target conservative groups for special scrutiny? Why did the Justice Department act in an unprecedented fashion toward The Associated Press for publishing details of a foiled terror plot the White House was planning to discuss openly the next day?

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”
