Obama: Music should
be more political

USA Today, by David Jackson

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 10/26/2012 6:11:23 PM

President Obama outlined his political agenda during an MTV interview on Friday, but also discussed a more traditional issue for the network: Music. Responding to a question from MTV host Sway Calloway, Obama said he wishes more musicians would make politics part of their music, as many artists did during the Vietnam and civil rights eras of the 1960s and 1970s. "I'd like to see a more explicit discussion of the issues out there," Obama said. Calloway had asked about the legacy of political music, citing examples ranging from Bob Dylan to Rage Against The Machine.

Comments:
Shut up and govern.

Rush was 100% correct. He's doubling down on the moron vote.

hussein obama, like other marxists, sees no limit to the injection of government into everything.
Visited Moscow, Russia, twice in 1996. And almost on every street corner was a statue or mural honoring yuri gregarin, first man into space.
hussein obama would erect statues to himself.

The more intense this election is becoming, the more to the Left Obama and the Dems are moving. This is only appeals to the base and not to more moderate voters.

Leftist propaganda in music is what led to the destruction of our societal fabric.

Spoken like a perverse hippy/dippie militant student stuck in the '60s. More's the pity. ...Thankfully we grew up in the Happy Days and so can remember the USA before the statist militants & their media steered our ship of state off course!!!!

0bama is cold, ...a disaster and a disgrace.

Man, it's sad but you gotta give the poor little molested booger credit: he does adhere to the Party Line (and i'm serious about felling sorry for him, BTW). And this is straight from the politburo and the kgb. Next , i expect him to wax all Pravda and start talking about the new 3 yr plan.

So blatant. I dunno what to do anymore. I can't seem to feel true flabbergastness, or actual outrage. But I am not numb; they have not won. I wait quietly for my turn at the little canvas booth, where I will petition the God of Heaven and Earth for my rights as guaranteed under the Constitution.

Shhhh, the Largest Land Army in the world is preparing to exercise a God-given right. I don't wanna sound corny, but somehow these days i find myself humming the Battle Hymn of the Republic and the official US martial hymn ( sorry, not right designation) God of our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand.

This is actually good news... Musicians consider themselves artists not propagandists... 1st they ask you to write propanganda songs,,, then they require it.

Like Chavez said... Obama is further left than he is!

The US should be more like Cuba? I suppose he'd like music to be more divisive for races and income levels too. The community agitator in 0bama is always just below the surface.

Let me suggest "Die Fahne Hoch", the Horst Wessel Lied, the signature song of the Nazi party during the thirties. Fits to a tee.

How to modify a perfectly delightful song and make it more political, so lets try this one.

Raindrops on Roses and Cute little Kittens.
Obama's a poseur so I'm voting for 'Mittens'.

Brown Paper Bags filled with smack and nose rings..
These are a few of his favorite things....

Fresh picked arugula in big copper kettles .
A Nobel Peace Prize with a chest full of metals..

Bowing like mad to dictators and kings.
These are some more of his favorite things...

Those that bore you, don't adore you, it can be so sad...
But you simply remember those favorite things.. and it doesn't seem.. so bad.

Thank you, thank you, I'll be here next week too.

Vice President Biden hit the game show circuit this week, appearing Thursday on Jeopardy. Under the quiz show´s time-honored format, Biden provided the answers for questions about the first vice president to serve (John Adams), the first vice president to resign (John C. Calhoun), the first veep to ascend to the presidency (John Tyler), and the fact that the veep´s official residence is at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. Biden also provided the clue for a Daily Double: "The vice president is a member of the board of regents of this, ´America´s attic.´" The question: "What is the Smithsonian?"

First lady Michelle Obama hung out with a "big time star" and jammed to the Godfather of Soul, but brought a serious message to students at a once-troubled Washington elementary school Friday.(snip)The first lady toured a pre-K classroom and a fifth grade arts class during her visit. In the pre-K class, she joined the four and five-year-olds in a game where they dance, and freeze in positions shown on flash cards when the music stops. She spent about 15 minutes in the class, dancing to James Brown´s "Gonna Have Funky Good Time".

The president may have forgotten something as he boarded Marine One this morning. On his way to the U.S. Naval Academy graduation ceremony on Annapolis, Md., President Obama didn’t return the salute of the marine standing guard at the door of Marine One, as he climbed the steps to the helicopter cabin. Obama soon ducked his head out, waved to the pilot, and jaunted back down the stairs to address the marine, shaking his hand. In the short video clip, one can’t hear the two men talking, so it’s unclear what exactly was said.

Put aside the politics, and the question of who-knew-what-when. There are two policy problems highlighted by the controversies at the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Justice. The first is the growth of 501(c)(4) groups into vehicles for anonymous and unlimited political spending. The second is the Obama administration’s overzealous prosecution of leaks. Unfortunately, for those who would like to see these policy problems resolved, the wrong party is angry about them and the wrong party is complacent.

She had to endure the public humiliation of his sexting scandal, but now it turns out that Anthony Weiner’s wife was the driving force behind his comeback. Huma Abedin put her feelings of betrayal aside and backed her husband to run for mayor of New York in this year’s election. She has also been working her close connections to the Clinton family to get Mr Weiner access to wealthy and powerful donors who he so badly needs. Having been frozen out of politics when he quit his Congressional seat, Mr Weiner is now effectively relying on his wife

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
