So, WHAT’S to like? That question danced around my head during Monday night’s debate. Every time President Obama mocked, personally attacked and sneered at Mitt Romney, I kept wondering why so many Americans say they like Obama even as they don’t like his policies. How do you like a president who shows utter contempt for his opponent? How do you like a president who responds to criticism of his record with a snide blast at his opponent’s personal wealth? The questions would be easier to answer if the debate were an exception. But it wasn’t.
This is what is so puzzling about The Won's "personal popularity." It's as though this country has been transported back to high school, where it was considered cool to elect the black guy student council president and the black girl prom queen, merely because they were black. That mentality is the only reason one can imagine for the supposed personal appeal of this very unattractive man.
That pretty much sums it up. I can't wait until President Romney takes office in January so we don't have to waste any more time trying to figure out how Barry works in order to protect ourselves and our freedoms.
I have wondered this myself - what do others see in this man to like? I see a petty, evil, sneering, you can't touch me affirmative action produced child - not a world leader!! Me thinks most just see his skin color and that's about it.
The simple truth is that he is a very ordinary person with a knack for dirty politics, learned Alinsky tactics, and a deep absorption of Marxist philosophy, with a serious lack of intellectual ability.
This is a result of the Quota Factor. Nobody wants to be perceived as racist or not open minded to the color guy hunched down in the White Hut. If any of us was polled out of the blue, most would say sure I love the guy because its nothing but a little white lie and we can't be accused of being racist. And that is one reason the blow out will be so shocking. The race industry has poisoned the environment so much that honesty can only be expressed in secret. Much like the old Soviet Union.
I swear people like him just because he watches Sportscenter, makes his March Madness picks and has a beer with people he has wrongly insulted. I think the polls about his likeability are just as cooked as all the other msm polls. To me he has been creepy from day one not only to look at but to listen to. He never sounded or acted like an American to me.
Honestly, if he were a white man he would be reviled and hated for his attitude. He got a pass all his life and the result is he really thinks he is above all other life forms. God complex? Maybe. I pray he will one day humble himself and know that there is only One God and Savior.
I don't see his attitude any different from the any number of 'democratic strategists' appearing on FoxNews most any morning. Nor from any number of plaintiffs and defendants on Judge Judy and Judge Mathis daytime shows. That 'in-your-face' attitude is apparently the way to get 'street creds' in these circles. In other words, he's playing to his base.
Most of the people who proclaim him "likable" seem to be from inside the Beltway where something in the air makes people loopy. For example, the normally completely sensible Senator Tom Coburn who pronounced the baby killing, Constitution bashing Nancy Pelosi a "nice person".
We are now paying for the terrible age of the 60s. Loose morals, sex, party time, drinking, drugs. Let's forget there is a God, so I can do my own thing. These people raised today's adults and grandchildren. We are paying dearly for it! Obama is an adult from that era. Listen to how he talks to us. He is a spoiled, narcissistic child. His mother was basically a prostitute, his father abandoned him. He makes up a story about his father because his real father is not there. What do you expect?
He apparently believes it is beneath him to consult or get into the details of legislation.
It's the reverse: Obama believes it's above, not beneath him. He doesn't understand, afraid someone will find out he's not that smart, so he presents the picture to others that he's fully aware and competent.
As for O's snarky remarks during the last debate, I'm sure his handlers cringed when they saw him reveal his utter lack of substance. That's what people do who lack substance and real information -- they attack others.
Obama spends time alone because he is always on guard, afraid of exposing himself to others for who he is; a vacuous, vacant, mentally gnarly shell of a man.
Some months ago I got into a debate with a friend over Obama. While he "agreed" Obama was in over his head, he maintained that O was - deep down - a "good man".
As the world is quickly learning, Obama is not a "good man". He is a petty, childish boor who happens to look nice, say clever things (at least, he used to), and come from a vicious Chicago political machine that vaunted him over every hurdle in his career.
Big Bird, Binders, and Bayonets. That's all he has. That's all he ever will have.
Early voting is the only thing that can save him. Let's hope enough people waited to see him unmasked, and don't live to regret an early vote for this juvenile.
Has anyone else noticed the really grating habit Obama has been coached into, where he says "li'l" instead of "little?" So we hear "The rich have to pay a li'l more." Or "We'll have to reach a li'l deeper." Along with the thumb-nestled-in-the-bent forefinger "point" that began with Clinton, to the whistling esses, this silly, empty, soulless punk has a bag of focus grouped tricks which, with any luck, we won't have to suffer after January.
He is not liked. People pretend to the pollsters to get the label 'racist' off their backs. We are sick to death of him, his cadence, his jive, his lies and his warm, comforting prison stare at his adversaries.
“I had given her a reassuring smile and patted her hand and told her not to worry, I wouldn’t do anything stupid. It was usually an effective tactic, another one of those tricks I had learned: People were satisfied so long as you were courteous and smiled and made no sudden moves. They were more than satisfied; they were relieved—such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn’t seem angry all the time.”
Lil teleprompter is the famous grapefruit. The reference is to a grapefruit that someone pointed a webcam at in the early net days; later people woukd go to see it in "real life" when it was placed on exhibition.
Teleprompter is famous because he's famous. The dims worship the man and will excuse him for anything.
This empty suit is so shallow! There is no there there! Does anyone know if there is much credence to the report I read two places today that is seems likely Romney could win the popular vote and Obama the electoral??
Much to the population can no longer recognize truth. They are humiliated for speaking the truth and discouraged from thinking the truth. Obama was influenced by Frank Marshall Davis, Farrakhan, Rev. Wright and William Ayers. Obama is anything but a nice person. That goes for his wife too.
1.'You guys' 2.'Ta' for to 3.'Bunches of'(fill in blank) 4.'Ya' for you 5.'Ums', 'ahs', ad nauseum trying to connect his "incoherent thoughts" 6.Using 'kids' inappropriately instead of the more respectful 'children' 7.Dropping g's - goin, doin, talkin, etc.
So many examples like this reveal his disdain for his audience as much as his inate inability to speak correctly. Shouldn't the rather poetic, literary tone of "Dreams..." be reflected at least occasionally when he's speaking?? Of course it can't - he didn't write the book.
Too bad Obama didn't go to kindergarten in the US. His entire affirmative action, foreign student education shows what he truly is...he is not a well-educated American. He has learned from the democrat play book to assassinate the character of everyone to make himself appear intelligent...most people can see that he isn't
I'd love to see a survey done on the topic of Obama using the techniques researchers use for taboo subjects. It basically involves asking not what your answer is but how you think your neighbors/peers would answer the question.
He's Barry Soetoro. He smoked dope. He sold drugs. He lies a lot. He sneers at our great traditions and customs. He's a racist. He's a phony. He's lazy. He's NOT one of us.The experiment with this mulatto failed, and lives have been lost. Get rid of him in less than two weeks. Beat it back to Chi ca-ca and take that loony mooch with ya!
For a moment, if at all possible, forget his Stalinist Marxism agitation habits, and his bowing to Muslim totalitarianism, just forget it for a moment. What American need to know is the unresolved psychology of his horribly deprived childhood, and the best understanding can be found in the book by Paul M Fick, PhD, THE DESTRUCTIVE PRESIDENT. The raging, vindictive, dangerous person can be found in this clear cut revelation by reading just a few descriptive pages from Dr Fick, www.destructivepresident.com
I've never understood why people say he's a nice guy, or personally likeable. He's NOT likeable at all! He's nasty and petulant and thin-skinned and narcissistic. If he ever sneered at Michelle that way I bet she'd slap his face. But Romney stayed cool and came right back at him.
He expects everyone to fawn over him, but he's disrepectful and disdainful of others. He truly has a god complex, and it's not pretty. Those who don't see it just choose to overlook it, because it's so evident it cannot be missed.
This business about so many people liking Obama continues to baffle me. To me, you either like a person because you know that person and you like their personality, what they stand for, their character, etc. or you know of them and what they have done or accomplished or their behavior in public (like an author or an actor or a politician). So people who don't personally know Obama but like him but don't like his policies baffle me. I just don't get it. What is it that they like? That he plays basketball and golf, that he takes a lot of vacations, that his ears stick out, that he has a wife and 2 daughters? What? Just tell me what it is about him that is so likable? I don't like Obama - I don't like his policies and I definitely don't like the arrogant attitude he exudes. But I don't know him personally (and have no desire to).
Do you remember the screaming bobbysoxers who got hysterical crying over the following: Valentino, Rudy Vallee, Sinatra, James Dean, Presley, the Beatles, Duran Duran, Justin Beiber, etc? Notice that the time period makes no difference in the behavior? Whether it was the 1920's, 1950's, 1980's or present day, the reaction over the last 100 years has always been the same. Uncontrollable screaming & raw emotion. No real explanation other than mass hysteria, raging hormones and the fact that young girls love the idea of being in love ... even with someone who is totally unobtainable and can't love them back. In fact, it is this unrequited love that is part of the attraction. This is my explanation for Obammy. He's a rock star/movie star in the eyes of some people and they don't care he is rude & obnoxious and even probably not too bright. He's ours and you can't have him! It is time for adults to take charge from the children and turn the T.V. off, break the 45 rpm record, ban the movie, ground them to their bedrooms or do what it takes to break the spell.
I couldn't believe the American people would elect Clinton. Now the electorate can't disappoint me because I expect the worst.//The number of people I consider real Americans is a minority in the country. We've been swamped by immigrants who won't assimilate and generations now trained by the '60s traitors in academia. Throw in groups like the majority of American Jews who seem to hate this country and we're in sad shape. Obama was handed the Presidency by white, guilt stricken liberals like he's been given everything else in his life.//He stays away from people because they'll find out he doesn't like them and he's not very bright.
Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul is traveling to Detroit this week armed with an ambitious plan to save the bankrupt city. In an interview with The Daily Caller on Wednesday, the Kentucky Republican senator previewed his trip to Michigan, where he will present his ideas for an “economic freedom zone” to the Detroit Economic Club on Friday. Paul acknowledged his idea is similar to those of former Rep. Jack Kemp’s “enterprise zones,” which similarly used incentives to encourage private sector investment in urban areas. “What we’ve done is taken enterprise zones and really given them enterprise zones on steroids,” Paul told TheDC. The plan
Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve looked at the various polls on Barack Obama’s performance and noted the dramatic decline in approval on both policy areas and personal qualities. Today, the Washington Post’s Aaron Blake and Sean Sullivan take a look at the former, and inform readers that Obama is in much bigger trouble than just dropping below 40% overall approval: Recent polling from the Pew Research Center and Quinnipiac University has shown Obama’s approval rating on almost all major issues plunging into the 30s — below even his lowest-ever overall approval rating, which has stood around 40 percent
Australian researchers said Thursday they had established the existence of vast freshwater reserves trapped beneath the ocean floor which could sustain future generations as current sources dwindle. Lead author Vincent Post, from Australia´s Flinders University, said that an estimated 500,000 cubic kilometres (120,000 cubic miles) of low-salinity water had been found buried beneath the seabed on continental shelves off Australia, China, North America and South Africa.
Washington -- Donald Rumsfeld´s most famous quote has to do with whether there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. But he might as well have been a reporter talking about Obamacare. "There are known unknowns," said Rumsfeld back in February of 2002. "That is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don´t know we don´t know." When it comes to Obamacare and the frantic White House effort to right the listing website meant to bring private health insurance to the uninsured, there´s a lot more we know we
Marco Rubio’s leadership PAC is launching a six-figure ad buy for Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.)’s Senate bid in Arkansas, the second time he’s aided a sitting senator or Senate candidate this year. The group, Reclaim America PAC, will put six figures into ads across Arkansas beginning Thursday that focus on Cotton’s military background. The buy was first reported by the Wall Street Journal and confirmed by POLITICO. Cotton is running to oust incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Pryor in what’s expected to be one of the most competitive Senate races of 2014.
WASHINGTON — For the past decade, Texas has been at war with Washington. Gov. Rick Perry and Attorney General Greg Abbott have fought the federal government on health care, voting rights and environmental regulations. On spending, new programs and regulations, federal officials have been hard-pressed to find friendly ears in the Lone Star State. Now, with Perry fading from the state’s political scene, the 2014 contest for governor could determine whether Texas takes a different approach to the White House and the federal government. Abbott, the likely Republican contender for governor, promises much of the same, saying he would make
I do my fair share of carping about Washington’s “elites,” say, for their free-spending ways or their reckless adventurism abroad. That said, when I speak to family and friends back in the Heartland, I usually dissent from at least some of the common epithets thrown at the inhabitants of the Beltway who claim to govern America. “Stupid,” “dumb,” “idiots,” and sometimes “clueless” are the typical pejoratives used. From my perspective only the last one is accurate. The denizens of Washington may live in an impenetrable bubble, but they are actually quite smart, well educated, top of their class, and… clueless
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
A stunning new study unveiled on Fox News´ Hannity finds that President Barack Obama’s White House calendar records just one face-to-face meeting between Obama and his Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the more than three-and-a-half years leading up to the disastrous Obamacare launch. The startling statistic comes from a new Government Accountability Institute (GAI) analysis of Obama’s own official White House calendar, as well as the Politico presidential calendar, and raises new questions about Obama’s executive leadership and management throughout the implementation of his singular legislative achievement. More alarming still, the president’s schedule lists 277 private
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Nineteen people stood behind President Obama on stage in the Executive Office Building Tuesday as the president kicked off a new campaign to promote Obamacare. One of those people, a young Florida woman named Monica Weeks, introduced Obama after telling the story of being struck with Crohn´s Disease at age 19 and receiving expensive treatments for several years that were covered by her parents´ health care plan — because Obamacare allowed her to remain on that plan until age 26. Now, Weeks said, she has coverage through a job. "The Affordable Care Act gives young adults who are just starting
