| As with the vice-presidential debate and Joe Biden, Barack Obama's attitude in Monday night's debate spoke more clearly than anything he said. No, he didn't laugh like Bozo the Clown, giggle like a schoolgirl, shake his head, and roll his eyes like Jokin' Joe did. But he looked petulant, perturbed, and on edge (and was occasionally rude) throughout much of the night, despite three days of debate preparation at Camp David. It seems Barack Obama just can't help himself. It wasn't that he was under withering attack by Mitt Romney. In fact, I was struck by how Romney opened

Obama was practically begging Romney to hit him on Libya. Why, just today, the CIA fell on their sword and totally contradicted their statements from two weeks ago and declared that they told Obama for a week that this was all about the video. Clearly a lie. Romney didn't bite and Obama lost the argument with no words spoken.

Last time Romney went there on Libya, Obama had the fix in with Candy. Mitt was astonished to see Obama lie like he did right to the face of the whole country and of course Candy later had to walk it back because it WAS a lie. Mitt wasn't going to fall into that trap again. He was steady, gave a closing that almost made me cry for America and the take away is Obama's death stare all night. That's an SNL parody but of course they won't make fun of their fav.

Barry wasn't playing small ball tonight. He was playing small spit ball as he repeatedly sniped at Romney with petty wads of sarcasm. Very unpresidential, Barry.
And incredibly Obama will sit there and lie and lie. Romney didn't have time to keep up with all the lies. The biggest lie repeated daily in Ohio crew is that Romney wanted the auto companies to go bankrupt without any government assistance. Easily refuted by an editorial Romney wrote at the time, but Obama and his crew continue to tell the lie with impunity. Actually Obama's slowness and union payoffs when he took the auto companies through bankruptcy cost the taxpayers an additional $20Million.

Romney has gotten into Obama's head. For the president, the debate was personal. When all the words spoken are long forgotten, it will be the look of confidence on Romney's face contrasted with the look of contempt on Obama's that looking back at tonight will be said to have sealed the deal for the voters.

0 was thrown off his plan when Romney gave him a pass on Benghazi. 0 had probably spent a lot of time and strategy in preparation for a big fight on that one. He had to. Then no fight. 0 didn't have the guts to bring up the subject himself. Mitt Romney didn't even use the word 'optimal' once.

Perhaps the strongest overall impression I take from the three debates is the consistently "presidenetial" demeanor of Romney -- strong and in command -- contrasted with the three different faces of Obama across the debates -- first lost, then boastful and manipulative, and finally petulant. Obama seemed to "decide" what face he would present each night while Mitt simply came out as himself to face a tough job. I hope the world sees this.

I agree with the posts at #10 and #12 in that Obama 'trained' for this debate in ways to defend his non-action in and lies about Benghazi. Mitt went elsewhere, to subjects for which the president had no memorized lines. .... It continus to become more obvious that Obama doesn't 'think' much about anything. The teleprompter tells him how he feels each day. Thought process and actual knowledge have never been on his agenda. Ooops.

It hasn't worked with President Romney. His good hearted personality came through the television via the debates -- even with lefite/libbie narrators.

It was astonishing to hear Obama so suddenly pro America, so cognizant of American values and exceptionalism, so pro military, so friendly toward Israel. WHO IS THIS?
After four years of demeaning Israel, apologizing for America, using the troops for his own gain, alienating our allies, and generally running down American values and national pride, his suddenly " positive" words sounded robotic and completely insincere.

It took me about 15 minutes to realize that Mitt Romney's strategy was to completely disarm Obama on Romney wanting to start another war. That was the talking point for the past couple of days in the MSM. It threw Obama off when Romney didn't get down in the weeds of the details on Libya.
Instead, Romney pivoted to the big picture which is to create a world where the United States can educate countries and tie our help into their participation in democracy. That, my friends, is what a Commander in Chief does.
Obama resorted to taunts and demeaning rhetoric (''we have planes that actually land on ships'') His arrogance showed with the ''Me'' and the ''I saw the shot and I took it.'' Well, I wanted to puke.

right #11, 13. Obama looks sooo angry! If he could have ditched that look, might have helped him...some.
Is it perhaps b/c he is a man who is conflicted? Most signs point to him not really wanting another four years. However the heat is on and the Chicago syndicate, according to the deep throat-style interview of the Obama insider, has BIG expectations in the form of another four years. Perhaps Obie is scared to death of what will happen to him, when he does NOT deliver.
He could also be worried about what his handlers have told him he must do, to stay in power, should he lose the election and he is absolutely terrified to implement it. Remember that look of horror/deer in headlights in the situation room during Bin Laden kill? Ditto the debate. The man could very well come unglued when he loses the 2012 election. Captain Queeq is knocking on the door.

Here is a woman we will need to learn much more about in the coming weeks. Sarah Hall Ingram is a highly valued employee at the IRS. In the last three years she has received $103,390 in bonuses for her excellent work. She was the Commissioner of the Tax-Exempt and Government Entitles Division. Under her leadership, groups that expressed a fear of large, out-of-control government were systematically crushed by her branch of our large, out-of-control government. I was on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show last night, talking about the Benghazi talking point emails. Near the end of the segment, Hugh asked whether I thought the presidential election might have turned out differently if Obama and Clinton had not succeeded in covering up the truth about Benghazi. I was skeptical. The story of the election, I said, was the Obama campaign’s ability to turn out, once again, a large majority of the low-information voters who swept Obama into office in 2008. Few of those low-information voters, I said, would either have understood, or cared about, Benghazi

As tax collector for the nation’s second-largest state, I know it’s a necessary function — from the fire station to the space station, nothing government does is possible without taxes. But it’s sure no path to popularity. Tax collectors have had a rotten reputation since biblical times. For all the services and all the people that depend on it, our work has to be viewed as fair and even-handed. It’s a basic bond of trust, and once that trust is lost, it’s hard to get back. Our entire nation was born when the colonists decided Britain’s taxes were unfair

While many Democrats have joined Republicans in public shaming of the Internal Revenue Service for singling out conservative groups, others say the scandal is just a byproduct of muddied rules about nonprofits and political activity in the wake of the Citizens United ruling — and they’re hoping that they can steer the conversation from outrage over political targeting to fuel for campaign finance reform. But senior Dems may have much more than an opportunity to try to turn scandal to their advantage: they may have a degree of culpability as one especially vocal proponent

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.
