Political guru Dick Morris predicted Saturday that the White House will announce an "October surprise" — a deal with Iran over nuclear inspections before the Nov. 6 election. Citing an Internet report on ***, a conservative website, Mr. Morris said a deal between the White House and the Iranian regime is in the works to ease sanctions on Iran in return for concessions on the Iranian nuclear program. Such an agreement, announced before the election, would represent a big foreign policy victory for the president, who has been under pressure from Israel to take a more robust stand
See post immediately below this one, from the New York Times, announcing just that. I wonder what Obama offered for them to agree to this. Probably as he said to the Russians, "After my election I'll have more flexibility."
Exsqueeze me, a report on ***? A conservative web site? Is worth what?
[and just why is *** a "bad word" on ldot?]
Still, it does sound like something Dick Morris would say. It even sounds like something that Zero would do. But what would it be worth? Obvious answer: Zero. Would even come across as pandering, wag-the-dog stuff. Only the insane would credit it, and they're already solid Democrats.
know what...obama could discover the cure for cancer...and I still would not vote for him....and I dont trust anything Iran that comes out of Iran... I really dont think I am the only person who thinks this way....
A secretive former CIA expert who is known as Reza Kahili maintains that in return for an end to economic sanctions, the Tehran regime will, before the U.S. presidential election, publicly state that it will temporarily halt some aspects of uranium enrichment in return for a lifting of sanctions by the United States early in 2013.
This article, published 18 hours ago, includes information from the writer's interview with Frank Gaffney, the founder and president of the Center for Security Policy, and former Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, the senior position in the Defense Department with responsibility for policies involving nuclear forces, who stressed that as of that time there'd been no confirmation of such an offer.
This would return relations to about the same point they were at 4 years ago in terms of hope for an agreement. All you have to do is have amnesia for the last 4 years and believe that, after 4 years of abject weakness, the Ayatollah will be scared of Obama this time. Right.
We can only pray that the administration will take such a desperate step. Nothing would better demonstrate their incompetence and the extreme danger they pose to national security. As Clint once said: Go ahead. Make [our] day!
Do they really think this will make everyone forget about Obamacare, the national debt, his green energy scams, and disastrous policies that are hurting everyone in the pocketbook? I sincerely think not.
Probably less harmful than Gloria Allred producing a cascade of women who "are willing" to testify that Mitt allowed discrimination against them in some way. Or worse. Remember what she did to Herman Cain...
It would not represent a "big Obama foreign policy victory". Iran cannot be trusted. Much like the Russians who are famous for simply ignoring any treaty they sign. What it would represent is Obama being snuckered one more time. The guy is a total fool when it comes to dealing with the Middle East. And those countries are in chaos thanks to his rampant mismanagement.
... a deal between the White House and the Iranian regime is in the works to ease sanctions on Iran in return for concessions on the Iranian nuclear program. Such an agreement, announced before the election, would represent a big foreign policy victory for the president ...
Oh goody, another Munich Agreement. Yeah, that's the ticket.
The October surprise is going to be Gloria Allred's little circus. My prediction is that she's going to bring out a "client #1" who will say (through Allred) that Mitt Romney or one of his sons sexually assaulted or harassed her. Ultimately, she will not file charges.
If client #1 doesn't do the trick, there will be a client #2. It will happen so close to the election that the Romneys won't even have much of a chance to answer the accusations.
It's worked for them before, they'll try it again. Romney better have his lawyers on stand-by.
#31, if that happens, then Romney should immediately issue a statement that he is personally filing suit for slander against the person making the claim. I wouldn't even wait an hour. And make it a huge amount...say 50 million plus.
I do believe the people of America know that the "religion of peace" Muslims can't be trusted to abide by any agreement with the "infidels". If this admin does anything Romney should state he will immediately renegotiate any policy signed from now till he is sworn into office in January.
An agreement with iran will not help Obama. Another middle east agreement that will ultimately be broken for the millionth time. Obama is all done in Carter fashion. Nothing should or will save his presidency.
So Barry is going to sell his soul directly to the devil himself and the "Great Satan IRAN", amazing how far the Dumbacrats will go just to stay in power. But a former student who helped take over our embassy in 1979, and is now calling for the extinction of Israel, and is now the president of I-ran is probably pretty darn credible...NOT!!!
Reza Kahili is a 100% on our side. He thinks Obama is a total disaster and if watch any of his interviews on his website, ( atimetobetray) You will see him on panels with so called "intellectuals" trying to tell them how wrong they are and how dangerous Iran regime is and what total fools they think the US is. Also his book is amazing and scary. I learned a lot about Iran in that book.
Sure, and if peope believe this, they are not ver smart! and that is putting it mildly!! Just think, he tried it with the unemployment rate, and how many jobs (part time, volunteer work, and people dropping out of the work force) Gas prices and now this. Sure, i believe you. Not!!
The Iranians know that they will lose their moles in the white house if Romney succeeds. I am sure if they thought they could ensure their man Solbama was re-elected they would say what ever is necessary. They also are aware he would never hold them to it.
I mentioned this the other day that there would be a temporary halt until after the election to make jugears look like he was a great prez. Just a con-man, nothing else! This 30 min You Tube video spells out his life from Chicago early days to the WH. So scary!
The October surprise is that Romney is beating Obama!
If Iran wants an agreement with Obama, I'm sure he will give them anything to stay in power. All indictions point to a Romney sweep. Still, with Obama in control, I am holding my breath. Sure hope Romney performs like Reagan. It is terrible to have such a low, down low, opinion of Obama, but I just can't hide it. He's more deadly than the Spanish Flu.
While much was made about President Barack Obama´s handshake with Cuban President Raul Castro at Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, the U.S. leader also gave a warm greeting to Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, despite recent tension between the two countries. As Obama took his place among other world leaders and dignitaries before he addressed the memorial, he shook hands, embraced and patted them on the shoulder. When Obama arrived at Rousseff, he kissed her on both cheeks The U.S. and Brazil jointly agreed in September to postpone Rousseff´s state visit to Washington - originally scheduled for October - over controversy over
LUNENBURG, Mass. —Investigators say the mother of a Lunenburg teen whose home had racist graffiti sprayed on it last month is a "strong suspect" in the case. According to the search warrant, Isaac Phillip´s mother, Andrea Brazier, replied "OK" when an FBI agent said she was the one who spray painted graffiti on the house. Watch Report "Most of the leads we have followed up throughout the investigation have led back towards the house," said Lunenburg police Lt. Michael Luth. When asked if police considered Brazier a strong suspect, Luth responded, "I would." Court documents also claim Brazier made false statements and then asked
The fight for Christmas took a hit this week when politics bigfooted a troupe of adorable little ballet dancers performing “The Nutcracker.” MSNBC’s Chris Matthews is scheduled to interview President Obama on Thursday night at American University as part of the “Hardball College Tour.” MSNBC approached AU to host the chat, and officials jumped at the chance for a free, hour-long commercial for the university and its students. But the interview, announced Tuesday morning, abruptly kicked the Ballet Petite’s rehearsals of”The Nutcracker” out of AU’s Greenberg Theatre. That didn’t sit well with the ballet school’s staff, teachers and parents who
Well, it’s not like there’s any danger of this stuff crossing the porous border into the US… Tepojaco (Mexico) (AFP) – Mexican authorities scrambled Wednesday to find a truck containing “extremely dangerous” radioactive material used in medical treatment that was stolen by two gunmen two days ago, officials said. The white Volkswagen Worker truck was transporting a teletherapy device containing cobalt-60 when it was stolen Monday in the central Hidalgo state town of Tepojaco, near Mexico City, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency. (Snip)So they found the container, just not the incredibly dangerous material that was in it. The
A fourth student at the University of California Santa Barbara has come down with a strain of meningitis similar to the one that sickened eight Princeton University students in New Jersey, authorities said. The California students began getting sick about three weeks ago, according to a university statement. One student had to have both legs amputated, ABC News has learned. "He´s from my hometown. I hope he is doing well," said David Burkow, another student. "It´s just kind of scary because there is a constant fear." The California school has suspended social events, including sorority and fraternity parties, to avoid
With a ruling by a federal judge on Tuesday that Detroit is eligible to enter bankruptcy, the fate of the city’s art collection — one of the finest in the country — now moves front and center in the legal battle over the city’s future. But the judge, Steven W. Rhodes, questioned for the first time the push by some of the city’s largest creditors to sell paintings and sculpture from the Detroit Institute of Arts, a sale that could generate hundreds of millions of dollars or more. While he did not say specifically that the art should be spared,
WASHINGTON – The National Transportation Safety Board has removed the Association of Commuter Rail Employees as a participant in its investigation into the December 1 fatal derailment of the Metro-North passenger train in the Bronx that killed four people. Organizations designated as parties to investigations sign an agreement to abide by NTSB rules during an investigation, but on Tuesday, the chairman of the union, Anthony Bottalico, spoke to the media and discussed what he thought happened during the derailment and engineer William Rockefeller. “While we value the technical expertise that groups like ACRE can provide during the course of an investigation, it
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
President Obama, former president George W. Bush and their wives departed Washington Monday morning on Air Force One on their way to a memorial service in South Africa for Nelson Mandela. The president and first lady Michelle Obama are being accompanied by Mr. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on the flight to Johannesburg. A four-hour memorial service will be held on Tuesday for South Africa’s first black president. Mr. Mandela, the anti-apartheid revolutionary, died on Thursday at age 95. Former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea are traveling separately to South Africa. Former President
