W.H. Tries to Write
Al Qaeda Out of Libya Story

Weekly Standard, by Stephen F. Hayes

The Obama administration appears to be mounting yet another version of its campaign to push back on claims that it misled on the intelligence related to the attacks in Benghazi on 9/11/12. But the new offensive by the administration, which contradicts many of its earlier claims and simply disregards intelligence that complicates its case, is raising fresh questions in the intelligence community and on Capitol Hill about the manipulation of intelligence for political purposes. (Snip) The administration's new line takes shape in two articles out Saturday, one in the Los Angeles Times and the other by Washington Post columnist David Ignatius.

Comments:
Both these pieces, the LATimes and the Ignatius column are on the site today and are just plain frantic attempts to muddy the waters. Shame on both the Times and Ignatius for carrying Obie's bath water.

They're trying to swipe all of Romney's ammo against Obama for the debate in two days. They have some faulty CIA info from the 15th that says something about the so-called demonstrations and I'm seeing that several places. But it doesn't wash when the testimony, video and e-mails have made it clear that there was no protest.

Believe me, this will be used the moment Romney tries to talk facts. Shieffer will probably bring it up himself, Candy Crowley style.

I saw a WaPo-sourced article somewhere today which went so far as to say the attack was unplanned, but opportunistic. The fact that the date was 9/11 was merely coincidence. Just sickening. I guess Gloria Allred couldn't come through with a smear.

It really doesn't matter what the arguable cause was, a video, crowing about Osama, whatever -- it never should have happened -- no security. The cause, bottom line, was Obama's policies.

The Benghazi attack was the payback for Obama taking out Osama bin Ladin. Al Qaeda is back and badder than ever.

Thanks for that fine show of spiking the ball, Barack. You have truly made a martyr out of bin Ladin.

Allah is pleased.

That might not be a good thing for the rest of the world, though.

Mitt just has to keep asking which timeline are they using today? The White House isnt going to take responsibility for not responding to a terrorist action. Obama will side with the Muslim's as promised.

Stay on point, stay focused, and speak the truth... Or ask for which scenerio is truth!

The protests in Egypt were organized by aymans brother mohamed. They absolutely were a go signal for the attack in Benghazi. The attack was revenge for the death of Abu Yaya al Libi. al Libi means from Libya, you'd think a great consumer of intelligence like Obama might put two and two together.

FTA:"David Ignatius, a reporter's columnist with excellent sources in the Obama administration and the intelligence community, reports:"

I really like Stephen Hayes, and this is a great article, but why do writers (especially conservatives) feel the need to add these qualifiers? Ignatius is clearly a shill for the Regime and deserves nothing but our contempt.

A couple of articles can't undo the mess the Middle East and America are in today. Benghazi is just a symptom of Obama's failed ideology, overall passivity and confusing messages.

Under Romney we'll seek peace through strength (like Reagan) and a firm foreign policy which clearly supports our allies. America must protect her own interests first, starting with our currency and defense.

No more shuck and jive, pro-muslim diplomacy.

The CIA's talking points, which everyone (including CIA) knew were false at the time they were issued, stated:

"The currently available information suggests that the demonstrations in Benghazi were spontaneously inspired by the protests at the US Embassy in Cairo..."

CIA provided a roadmap with a single bold, blue superhighway that led, straight as a string, directly back to Cairo. Why no one follows it is beyond me. Rush gets it. He mentioned it yesterday. And he repeated it several times, just in case you didn't hear it the first time. Here, let me repeat it again:

The embassy in Cairo issued a statement condemning the video BEFORE the Cairo demonstrations began.

So, the Cairo embassy knew the demonstrations were coming, whih means the Obama administration knew they were coming. They had advance notice. Who got that notice, and from whom? And when? That morning? The day before? The week before? In August? In June? And did they just sit on that information, or did they prepare a narrative to exploit the demonstrations?

Heard Newt on Hannity the other day asking why, since the State Dept. was watching this 5 hour attack in real-time, weren't ANY reinforcements sent in to assist? Impossible to believe we didn't have anybody nearby to assist.

I don't know what protocol is in the State Dept. or the Executive Branch, but it would be common sense for the State Dept. to notify the Executive Branch (let me be clear who I refer to in the "branch" - Barky, Crazy Uncle Joe, etc.) of an attack taking place. Although, I'm sure Barky didn't want to hear about it too much since it was going to interfer with Letterman and Jay-Z.

Mitt needs to zero in on these questions and corner him like the rat he is!

Brett Baier's Special on Fox last night pretty much walked through the whole thing, timeline.. video's and pleas for help. No one came after hours of fighting. They didn't want to save them. Why is that? Plan gone wrong? You betcha.

Selecting Brett Baier for this Fox Special is interesting. It is even more interesting that they weave this story directly into Candy Crowley's debate debacle - with Obama goading her on. Looks to me like Fox is using this special, not only to construct the accurate story of the Ambassador's death, but also to try and put a dagger through the heart of CNN.

That's what I'm talkin' about!

You would think that, with the very good possibility that their messiah is going down in November, the old media would at least try to save what's left of any credibility they might have and do just some good reporting and journalism. Romney will turn this disaster around and this antiquated media will be preaching their idiocy to about 20% of the people, having totally lost the rest.

If the USA would just maximize our own domestic energy production, be it oil and gas, coal and coal gasification, nuclear and the occasional windmill, we could satisfy all our domestic requirements and tell all the ragheads in the Middle East to go take a flying puck. The only reason that we have to put up with them and their barbaric 7th century cult of Mohammed religion is all the oil that they are sitting atop.

Well guess what we have more energy assets than those idiots do. Leave them to their own devices and maybe they will start a few Shia-Sunni-Wahabbi Holy Wars and thin the herd by about 200 million or so. Nobody'd miss 'em if they did.

We are entering a very dangerous time. Obama is a very unstable man struggling to maintain his lordly position. So long as his enablers continue to support him the nation is in peril.
To think that America's survival depends upon whatever vestige of patrotism and historical sense that such as Jarratt, Plouffe, Axelrod might retain.
Pray.

Reply 35 - Posted by: GreatPlains, 10/20/2012 10:45:51 PM     (No. 8949150)

# 15 The thinking is that Axelrod or Jarrett
( or Michelle ? ) decided not to send military help, while the attack was in progress
because it would be too politically embarrassing to admit that we suffered a terrorist attack.
In other words, they made a political decision
to let those trapped in the consulate- die.
The death toll could have been even higher.
Remember that Obama went to bed during all of this.
He's lazy and could have cared less .
There better be orange jumpsuits in some of their futures
because they were de facto accessories to murder.

But no one has ever explained why there was an Ambassador in Behghazi. The rest of the World's Ambassador-level offices which are called embassies are in Tripoli.
In Benghazi, there are missions from 12 countries. I don't think any rise to the status of the Ambassador, consulate maybe or something like first officer.
It is possible that because the National Liberation Front(whatev its formal name) was headquartered in Benghazi that the establishment of Ambassador-level offices there was to butter them up.
Certainly brings other question: What was Chris Stevens job there? Why was it necessary to have such a high level diplomat there in Benghazi? What was going on in Tripoli as it is listed as an Embassy, which is the Ambassador's office and residence, typically. Did Libya have 2 Ambasadors and why? Was the obama regime involved with the National Front other that what Congress dictated?

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

The Obama administration’s sudden plunge into scandal territory has two aspects — the actual and the political. The first, and most important, has to do with what actually happened. Why did the administration promulgate a false account of the terror attack on Benghazi? Why did the Internal Revenue Service target conservative groups for special scrutiny? Why did the Justice Department act in an unprecedented fashion toward The Associated Press for publishing details of a foiled terror plot the White House was planning to discuss openly the next day?

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight.
