David Brooks Advice to Romney:
'Don't nitpick on small foreign
issue of the past' like Benghazi

Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

Original Article

Posted By:Fiesta del sol, 10/20/2012 6:24:08 AM

Call it counter-intuitive, but Mitt Romney shouldn’t focus heavily on what many conservatives are calling President Barack Obama’s biggest foreign policy blunder during Monday night’s upcoming presidential debate, according to New York Times columnist David Brooks. In his weekly appearance on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” Brooks said the debate, which will be dedicated to the topic of foreign affairs, is an opportunity for Romney to talk about other issues than the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya. “Don’t nitpick about Benghazi,” Brooks said.

Comments:
If this (and the creased pants thing) is the kind of stuff you have to say to get invited to the lib cocktail parties, it's not worth it. Of course, of course!!! he said it on NPR.

Let's see...Watergate was about a burglary and a cover-up. It brought down a President. And Benghazi is a 'small foreign issue' - don't 'nitpick'? What brand of Kool-aid are they selling in NYC?

If you read all over the internet, especially the liberal sites like Mother Jones, MSNBC, CNN, etc, that is their line: "Don't you dare talk about Benghazi." Brooks is the definition of a RINO. He admits he voted for Obama 2008. He's a liberal. He's just embarrassed about it.

Look who is giving the advice, then decide. Benghazi is the blue dress. The 1 to 1.18 million odds that a lie has been finally caught and exposed. The voters (At least the independents) fully understand this.

Let's review history, shall we? In 1972 there was a break-in that was politically motivated. No one got killed, or even injured. The dust-up by the Media and the Left was SO GREAT, a Republican President RESIGNED in shame (and to avoid Impeachment which would tear apart our nation).

In 2012, a Middle East Consulate BEGGED for more security forces, after there were many various terrorist attacks in the area for a few MONTHS. These requests were IGNORED and the Ambassador was SET UP for death by this administration. Four Americans were massacred horribly. The Media yawned. The prezdint went to Vegas. And they ALL covered up and LIED about the entire situation.

Up to date now? BTW - The prezdint took TWO WEEKS to admit that this was a TERRORIST ATTACK - after LYING TO AMERICA AND THE UN as to WHO WAS TO BLAME. He is STILL in office. No charges. No shame. No Impeachment. No jail time. He's a Leftist, of course. So are the Media folks.

Yo..yo..Dave right. Better stick to things like giving up our rights to the United Nations!! Like letting the butt holes tax our personal bank accounts, take over the Internet and use some stinking Arms Treaty to disarm our citizens!! Mitt don't have to talk about Bengazi at all there is plenty of dirt without even getting to Libya.

At the ceremony/photo-op of the Americans coming home in coffins, obama seemed bored. Clinton seemed really upset. And brooks is a nitwit and should be classified as a typical liberal hack of the nytimes.

Rush is saying that the real Achilles Heel is that obama went fundraising the next day. Shows his priorities.

Number One job of POTUS is to protect Americans. When it becomes obvious to the libs that obama couldn't care less about national safety, he is finished.

David Brooks is such a reliable Liberal Plantation tool.

Benghazi is a deadly microcosm showing the chaos and collapse of Obama's larger foreign policy.
In Benghazi Obama threw our Ambassador under the bus, followed by Hillary, his 'intelligence' chief, and various strawmen and mini-movie makers to be named later.
The little movie maker remains in jail as hostage to Obama's deadly foreign policy.

Obama has lied about Benghazi for 5 weeks.
Benghazi is where the ugly and empty underside of Obama has been exposed.

This moron wants to ignore the 800 lb gorilla standing next to obama on the stage? Yeah, let's talk about Big Bird and binders. The stupid liberal voters can understand deep things like that.

Murders of 4 Americans by muzzie savages, on American soil...'a bump in the road.'

Scheiffer (sp?) will do his best to ignore this also.

David Brooks is a pathetic-loser-wannabe at the NYSlimes, and a tired old liberal-hack disguised as a "conservative". Is there anyone out here who actually CARES what he says about anything? Brooks and Peggy Noonan, the Frick and Frack of the old GOP. Keep your "advice" David, and continue to salivate over obama. Remember, he's the guy you said had the "perfect crease" in his trousers and was going to be a "great president". Jerk.

Hey! If PBS, NPR and the NYT can ignore Fast & Furious, the failed "Stimulus", increased poverty, U-6 unemployment frozen at 14.7%, the falsity of man caused global warming, and the delusional emperor in the White House, they can easily ignore Obama's lies and failures in the Middle East. Obama's promise of socialism outweighs all the misery he has inflicted for these highly paid elites.

Here's some better advice:

Hammer Benghazi, and relate it to the plethora of other foreign policy failings, with both past and future costs.

Benghazi becomes the defining symbol of the whole stinking mess.

Good grief. brooks & all the other barry supporters have really sold their souls in order to protect their messiah. Benghazi represents all that is wrong with this administration, which starts and ends with lies. Four Americans are dead & it's being swept under the rug by the sock puppet press for one reason & that's to protect a failed, disinterested, disengaged barack obama.

Everybody knows this IS the issue & will be the final nail. That's why the left doesn't want to talk about it. Period.

Obama provided Mitt a baseball bat for the next debate, and the small minded Obama will focus on Benghazi in preparations as to what lies to tell. And then Mitt "will" strike O out by focusing on the entire collapse in foreign policy taking place right now. None of it in response to Brooks.
As someone who closely (military viewpoint) observed the collapse of the Shah and replacement by the Ayatollahs under Carter and the 30 years of attacks on Americans that has led to, Obama has made a much worse situation that our children will be dealing with if a World War doesn't cause it all to go up in smoke first.

Reply 21 - Posted by: jinx, 10/20/2012 7:24:01 AM     (No. 8947374)

Four Americans were murdered including our Ambassador who had said that there was a hit put out on him and he needed security. He was still asking for help on the day he was murdered. Hillary and Obama did not have his back. He was too busy campaigning, running off to one party after another. Partying with Beyonze and her crowd was more important to him. Who knows where Hillary was; she was obviously not at home for that 3AM call. The MSM talked about Travon Martin and called for more attention to his killer than they have for our Ambassador. Shame on them and this regime.

I kind of agree. I would not ignore it though. I would use Benghazi to show how dishonest the 0bama folks are, but would focus on the more important issues of Iran, Egypt, Russia, EU and China.

Brooks is unable to see this as a question of competence. This President has been totally disengaged throughout his Presidency. He has been campaigning since the first week of his term and is "addicted" to the adoring, nodding crowds.(this will be what he will miss most - while the wife will miss all the perks). It also comes down to integrity and doing the right thing - where he has clearly shown his stripes.

"Knee Jerk At Le Cirque: David Brooks Calls Palin A 'Fatal Cancer' On The GOP."

NEWSBUSTERS
October 9, 2008

The New York Times's ace columnist and NPR/PBS media super star, Professor Brooks, claims he is a conservative in the tradition of Edmund Burke and Alexander Hamilton. And yet, I can never recall him being a guest on the radio or television shows of Mark Levin, The Maha Rushie, Doc Savage or Sean Hannity. Did I just fail to tune in?

I heard some of this yesterday. The lisping E.J. Deionne was the other half of the discussion. When it was over I said to myself, out loud, "Well that was a very balanced discussion." (Note: sarcasm)

NPR has declared war on Romney. But they are not going to do it like MSNBC, but while stating the most damning lies possible about Romney in a very calm soothing tone and in a way that suggest of course, everyone knows that Romney eats children for breakfast.

The New York Times's genuflecting panting anorchus RINO mollycoddle strikes again. Yeah, we know, Mr. Brooks. If the voters come to understand what happened at Benghazi and why, the man you so eagerly voted for in 2008 will lose ignominiously. You and your employers can't bear the thought of that happening. That hopium is addictive, ain't it?

Just get it over with, David, follow Arlen S.P.E.C.T.R.E.'s footsteps over to the dark side, and admit that you're a Democrat for whom the sight of Obama gives a sexually electric charge up your crease. Standing beside Brooks, the principle free David Gergen looks like Ronald Reagan.

The Internal Revenue Service controversy dogging President Barack Obama is hardly the first time a White House and the tax agency have been accused of political meddling and bias. Over the past week, Republicans have been trying to link Obama to what the IRS has acknowledged was improper extra scrutiny of conservative political groups seeking tax-exempt status. That’s despite the fact that little — if anything — has surfaced to suggest White House officials had advance knowledge of the IRS actions. The line between IRS misconduct and the Oval Office appears less fuzzy in IRS political incidents in previous administrations.

Charlotte-based Belk Inc. found itself in the middle of an online battle between political partisans this week, when an ad featuring the company ran on conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh’s radio program. The fight highlights the fine line companies walk with advertising and social media. The ad featuring Belk was apparently first noticed Monday by a group on Facebook that monitors Rush Limbaugh’s advertisers in an effort to pressure the talk show host financially. On Tuesday, the liberal website Daily Kos mentioned the ad in a posting. People started posting messages on Belk’s Facebook page protesting the ad.

The White House held an off-the-record briefing with reporters on Friday afternoon to discuss recent revelations about the Benghazi investigation, sources familiar with the meeting tell POLITICO. The meeting began around 12:45 p.m. and postponed the daily, on-the-record White House press briefing to 1:45 p.m. White House press secretary Jay Carney did not respond to a request for confirmation of the meeting. The off-the-record session was announced to reporters in the wake of an ABC News report showing that White House and State Dept. officials were involved in revising the now-discredited CIA talking points about the attack on Benghazi.

John McCain is going to release a bill that would dismantle cable as it´s currently constructed, Brenden Sasso at The Hill reports. The legislation would force cable companies and satellite TV providers to give consumers an option to pick and choose which channels they get. This is called "à la carte programming," and it´s long been a dream of consumers who only want a handful of channels. McCain tried to introduce similar legislation in 2006 and it went nowhere.

Benghazi: Incompetence,

There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W. Bush years -- led by that least-credible of champions, the almost-always-wrong Darrell Issa --

The Republicans, apparently with nothing better to do, are still chasing their tails over the tragic events in Benghazi on September 11.Actually, no. That’s not true. They’re chasing their tails over what happened after the tragic events of September 11. They’re mostly concerned that the Obama Administration tried to cover up the fact that this was a terrorist attack by a local militia (translation: local street gang) which aspired toward bad-butt Al Qaeda status. This is a pretty hard sell since, the day after the attack, the President called it an “act of terror.”

But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”
