NHPR producer: Hassan edit a mistake
Union Leader [Manchester, NH], by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:nhchemist, 10/16/2012 6:58:10 PM

An executive producer at New Hampshire Public Radio said Monday he made a mistake by editing the word “tax” out of a key answer given by Democrat Maggie Hassan during a September debate in a recent partial rebroadcast. Hassan supported RGGI, saying, “I was proud to be a sponsor of that tax — eh — the energy efficiency program because it has saved businesses millions and millions of dollars and created over 400 jobs.”

Comments:
This was on American Thinker yesterday. Now NHPR says they were wrong to support their preferred Democrat candidate in such a blatant fashion. Apparently a tax is not taking your money under penalty of law unless the Democrat says it is.

Wonder how many times NHPR or any public broadcasting company -- heck, any RAT infested media -- ever edited out a politically unpopular word by a Republican?

My bet on the over/under is Zero.

I emailed the Programming Department at NHPR yesterday, and this is one of the comments in the reply I received: "NHPR has not nor would ever edit the comments of a candidate made during a debate."

It looks like she "misspoke".....

When they do this selective editing it's so weird that they always make their mistakes in favor of liberals.

I wonder how in the world that just happens..... all the time.

How NH Dems made Havenstein
eligible for governor
Union Leader [Manchester, NH], by Drew Cline    Original Article

Walter Havenstein of Alton is running for the Republican nomination for governor. Democrats claim he is ineligible because although he has lived in New Hampshire since 1999 and maintained his legal domicile here all that time, he also was a legal resident of Maryland from 2008-2011. The New Hampshire Constitution states that the governor “shall have been an inhabitant of this state for 7 years next preceding.” (Snip) Because of the Democrats’ insistence that “domicile” be kept strictly separate from “residency,” Havenstein has been a legally domiciled inhabitant of New Hampshire since 1999.

An answer to the perennial question:
Is it safe to pee in the pool?

Sanitary-minded pool-goers who preach "no peeing in the pool," despite ordinary and Olympic swimmers admitting to the practice, now have scientific evidence to back up their concern. Researchers are reporting that when mixed, urine and chlorine can form substances that can cause potential health problems. Their study appears in ACS´ journal Environmental Science & Technology. (Snip) They conclude that swimmers can improve pool conditions by simply urinating where they´re supposed to -- in the bathrooms.

When government bullies children

Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana recently told a Nashua, N.H., audience about his experience with a school bully. Bullying is a nationwide problem, but the bully Jindal was describing was U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who recently tried to crush school choice in Louisiana. Last Monday, March 17, parents in New York City who send their children to Success Academy, a Harlem charter school, filed suit in federal court to stop another school bully, Mayor Bill de Blasio, from denying them previously arranged space in a public school building.

LAST YEAR, somewhere deep in the bowels of Fiat´s Ufficio Stampa in Turin, Italy, an employee had a problem. On the screen was a news release about the first load of Serbia-built Fiat 500Ls arriving from Montenegro to the Port of Baltimore. He or she was obliged to write something pleasant about the car´s driving. The "North American Fiat 500L delivers excellent performance and great driving pleasure," this person perjured blandly. "These enviable characteristics are made even more interesting by typical European handling and precise, responsive steering."

James E. Ryan, a former state representative from Franklin who served as a state chairman for then-Sen. Joe Biden´s presidential primary campaign in 2008, was arrested without incident in Connecticut Tuesday as a fugitive from justice. The state of New Hampshire listed him as a fugitive and issued a warrant for his capture on Feb. 21 when his whereabouts were unknown, said Jeff Lyons, spokesman for the state Department of Corrections. Ryan, 56, entered state prison on Feb. 9, 2010, and was paroled June 24, 2013. Before he left the state and was listed as a fugitive, he was to

Gun control supporters turn to
new front: Corporate America
The Hill [DC], by Ben Goad    Original Article

The American gun control movement is going corporate. Still reeling from the stinging legislative defeats of 2013, proponents of tougher firearm regulations are increasingly turning their focus to private sector campaigns. Gun control groups have claimed victories in recent months, successfully pushing Starbucks to declare guns unwelcome in stores and persuading Facebook to crack down on unregulated firearm solicitations. With no end in sight to the congressional gridlock that has thwarted more stringent federal gun laws, groups say they will continue to apply pressure on major companies.

Branford, Conn. - A Branford police officer is off the job after he got into a fight online with someone about gun ownership. That officer is on leave after he told someone online he couldn’t wait to bang down his door and take his gun. A heated Facebook discussion with a Branford police officer that John Cinque says the cop took too far. “I’ll give my left nut to have the ability or have the opportunity to kick your door in and take your guns.” That was one of the comments Cinque says was over the line. But there is a whole thread of questionable remarks said to be posted by Officer Joe Peterson.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.
