| Al Gore is about 50 times richer than he was when he left the vice presidency in 2001. According to an Oct. 11 report by The Post’s Carol D. Leonnig, Gore accumulated a Romneyesque $100 million partly through investing in alternative-energy firms subsidized by the Obama administration. Two days after that story ran, Mitt Romney proclaimed at a rally in Ohio’s Appalachian coal country: “We have a lot of coal; we are going to use it. We are going to keep those jobs.” Thousands cheered.

As Rush always says, "Follow the money". These leeches do nothing without looking at the monetary gain. Bore's daddy who was a school teacher before going into congress, left a millionaire thanks to Armand Hammer who rewarded him generously for his votes.

#1, Armand Hammer's close ties to the Soviets, including a nine-year vacation there in the 20s, and a father who was a CPUSA member, gives one pause, knowing he was so close to both Sen. Gores.

If there’s one thing we know about Americans, it’s that they love a winner. By extension, they can be very tough on those who don’t. The fiftieth anniversary of the first woman in space is a fitting hook to look back over the long process of enabling gender-independent access to the final frontier. One of the interesting secondary tales associated with this theme is the campaign story offered by Hillary Clinton that, in 1961–2, she wrote to NASA about her interest on becoming an astronaut, and they dismayed and angered her by replying, “We don’t take girls.” (snip) The story is clearly politically useful, and comments on its actual authenticity have predictably split along partisan lines.
