| When Mitt Romney faces off against President Obama on Tuesday night in the first of their debates to involve foreign policy, the Republican challenger will take a page from Ronald Reagan’s playbook by attempting to portray the Democratic incumbent as the second coming of President Carter, and himself as the champion of the Gipper’s “peace through strength” mantra. Those of us who loved Reagan truly loved him and knew he wanted the best for our country. Its a shame you media types can't just let Romney be Romney. Only time will tell if he means what he says and I pray that he does. We KNOW what Obama wants for the US.
Sadly, I am burned out on politics this close to the election. I'll vote, of course, and I'll wear my patriotic buttons when I do. But I am sick of media all together. I thought I could at least read the NYP and the Washington Times, but they can't stop the snark.

Romney's going to be too busy fending off attacks and interruptions from both the moderator and Obama to be channeling anyone.

The election really comes down to whether you believe in the government or private sector. The left has spent the last 4 year vilifying the greedy capitalists.
The real redistribution that works is rich people hiring other people to do something.People spend money when they feel they have job security. That's all under a magnifying glass now because Obamacare is right around the corner.
How crazy is it that people will go from 40 hour weeks to 30,just to avoid the costs of Obamacare.
Wait until people see their tax refunds go down because the gov't snagged the fine for not participating in health insurance.
On the other hand,you could have a welfare queens snagging a $5000 earned income refund but would be exempt from Obamacare because they're assigned the poverty label.

7 years after Osama Bin Laden and crew attacked our country, and after a madman named Saddam Hussein wreaked havoc in the Middle East, who'd have thought we'd elect a man named Barack Hussein Obama??

There seems to be bipartisan consensus that whatever the White House is doing to fend off scandal is making things worse. Howard Fineman sounds a lot like Right Turn these days: “White House aides are tempting fate with their reluctant, piecemeal and contradictory disclosures of what they knew and when they knew it, especially about a report on the Internal Revenue Service’s 18-month effort to target tea party and other conservative groups for special scrutiny.” The constantly shifting stories from Jay Carney and the IRS dissembling and pleas of ignorance only heighten concern that there has been serious wrongdoing.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. John Podhoretz has a good column today on the Obama administration’s travails. I did not know this bit until I read the column: Even more startling, the search warrant makes clear that the FBI already had everything it needed on the leaker, as the request for a search warrant features quotes from an interview that were tantamount to a confession. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
