| A new survey from Public Policy Polling (PPP) shows Mitt Romney with a 1-point lead in Florida thanks to strong gains among independent voters. The poll from the Democratic-affiliated firm finds Romney leading President Obama with 49 percent support to 48 among likely voters. (Snip) Voters now rate Romney positively at 50 percent favorable and 47 unfavorable, a shift from the last poll when he was negative at 44-51. The last poll put Obama at 51 favorable to 47 unfavorable, and those figures have shifted to 48 positive, 50 negative.

Comments:
PPP is one of the most biased national polling agencies out there. If they stopped satisfying the Dems they would be out of business. They only put this out so after the next debate (they hope) 0bama will show a sudden increase in their poll. I wouldn't even be surprised if they coordinated with the people announcing 0bama's debate preparations. Other polls are showing Florida as Romney's with the gap growing out of 0bama's reach.

Yep, great news. Even the Dem-friendly poll can't show Obama in the lead. And this is nearly 2 weeks after the debate. If anything Romney is capitalizing on his debate bounce while ''O'' is losing even more ground.

Maybe, but vote. If you're not in state, get your absentee ballot. There's still time. If there's even a chance you won't make it on the day, vote absentee. It's an unfortunate mathematical reality that some who plan to vote for Romney today won't make it to the polls on election day for some reason. Imagine if we lost by one. Don't chance it. Don't wait. Vote. Vote now. Your country needs you.

Jewish voters in Florida probably aren't too happy with Obama's persistently shabby treatment of the prime minister of Israel. Obama's snub of Netanyahu likely has cost him Florida and narrowed his path to 270.
Ohio is slip-sliding away from Obama too. Romney/Ryan have been campaigning there hard to huge crowds while Obama does debate prep, in seclusion in Williamsburg. (What is Obama practicing anyway, a crash course in How to Look Like You're Governing America When You're Not 101?)
We may well take America back in three weeks. Pray - and vote - for America.

The PPP guy was on Fox last week saying they're not polling in Fl.Va and NC anymore because Romney has them locked up. Now all of a sudden they're polling again and Romney's lead is a whopping 1 point.Somebody got to this guy the same way they used a lawsuit against Gallup to change their polling method.
I've never seen such corruption in my life. Obama would put any African dictator to shame.

"Democrat affiliated firm". That says all we need to know about their "polling". If they are giving Mitt Romney a couple of points, obama is in more trouble than even THEY understand! I guess HOPE really DOES spring eternal for the leftists in the "msm".

We at Townhall have been covering this hotly contested Senate race for months and the results are finally in: With 36 percent of precincts reporting, Elizabeth Warren has been declared the next junior Senator from Massachusetts. Warren has never held public office before and the eye-popping $40 million she raised this election cycle evidently proved more than enough to unseat incumbent Senator Scott Brown. This was the most expensive Senate race of 2012 -- by a long shot.

The Obama and Romney campaigns may be gearing up for a very late night, with one Obama campaign adviser predicting that in Florida alone, "they'll be counting until 2 a.m." The Obama adviser said signs suggest the race is quite tight, though the campaign claimed to be "holding strong" in key battlegrounds like Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The adviser also said turnout among black voters in Virginia was better than expected, suggesting that could be a problem for Mitt Romney. Republican operatives in Virginia, though, predicted a razor-thin victory for their candidate in the state.

A week after Hurricane Sandy slammed into the East Coast, a majority of voters said President Barack Obama’s response to the crisis wasn’t a factor in their vote, according to early exit polls. Fifty-five percent of those surveyed, per CBS News’ early exit polling released by radio station WKZO in Kalamazoo, Mich., said Obama’s handling of the storm was a minor factor in their vote or wasn’t a factor at all. Twenty-six percent named Sandy as an “important” factor, and 15 percent said it was the “most important” factor in their decision.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
