| President Obama is once again engaged in intense debate preparation at his resort in Williamsburg, Va., getting ready for his rematch with Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. “I’m not going to get into details about strategic changes that he might make. But I just encourage you to watch and show up. I think it will be an interesting debate,” Obama senior campaign strategist David Axelrod said. The president is under pressure to make a strong showing in the rematch, especially after polls are beginning to show Romney edging closer to Obama in the swing states.

I like that..."edging closer in the swing states.." Axelrod whistling past the graveyard. I will be so glad when he goes away...but he probably will accept a position with Fox!

I think Mitt was ready for the Bain Capital / class warfare attack strategy in the first debate. If 0bama tries it this time, it will be Biden/Ryan redux - the angry dopes of the left will suck it up and the majority of America will reject it. 0bama's entire campaign (career actually) has been targeted at the dummy vote and me's maxed out in that area already.

Correction - only Romney will make it interesting. I do not find being lied to the least bit interesting.

I hope Romney brings up Hillary's old "3 o'clock phone call' meme...and tells Obama using Call Forward (to Hillary) isn't allowed!

#1, there's an easy fix for that. Don't watch.
Zero can't even act humble so aggression is his only way. Coke has to be refreshed about every 20 minutes so that's out. Speed makes you sweat and veins bulge so that's out. He'll probably just hit the Xanax again and hope things turn out better this time. Same way he's governed for the last 3 1/2 years.

obama needs no help from Axelrod in how to lie. This is truly a case where the student is better than the teacher.

as strong and smart as i believe romney is, never, ever underestimate the plotting, conniving and mean-spirited teamobama. as much as they (the democrats) have infuriated and disgusted me in the past four years, i never would have believed that biden would have behaved as he did last week on the debate "stage" with ryan. he, of course, behaved that way to distract and get ryan off his game. this tactic of ridicule and interruption will be done again, albeit this time, more subtly. the other thing that scares me to death is that something could "happen" to romney before this election. an accident, of course, but unproveable. so, that's where i am these days. suspicious, hopeful, angry, anticipatory, and i guess in need of a little medication!

Translation: after seeing the lies Biden spewed out minute by minute the 0bama staff has crafted some even bigger whoppers. I wouldn't be surprised if 0bama turns out to have been born in a log cabin in Hawaii in a manger surrounded by native donkeys.

More trash talk. In the meantime Romney feels no need to pre-announce his intentions for the debate.

Have you noticed that there is story after story tonight about how hard Obama is preparing, how he is going to bring his game this time, etc. Where I come from, that is called "trash talking". Meanwhile, Romney quietly goes about his business....

The way the media is spinning this whole debate prep, I would not be surprised if Leno went out after the debate and asked which participant is the incumbent and which one is the challenger and a plurality of respondents believe that Mitt Romney is actually the president.

The man shot dead by an FBI agent in Orlando, Florida early today was "about to sign a statement" admitting to a role, along with Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in an unsolved triple murder in Massachusetts in 2011, two people with direct knowledge of the case told ABC News. Ibragim Todashev "just went crazy," and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI, said state and federal law enforcement officials briefed on the latest strange twist in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing. One official said an FBI agent was stabbed several times,

WASHINGTON- Senator Elizabeth Warren has found a publisher two months after the Massachusetts Democrat began shopping her book proposal. Henry Holt and Company, one of the nation’s oldest publishers, announced it had obtained the rights to publish the book, which it characterized as telling both “Senator Warren’s improbable rise from a working class family in Oklahoma to the United States Senate,” as well as providing “a rousing call for protecting the middle class.” The book will be published in the spring of 2014 and will be edited by John Sterling, who is editor at large for Macmillan,

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

A large majority of Americans hold a bleak outlook on the state of morality in the United States, as 72% said the nation’s moral values are “getting worse,” and only 20% said that moral values are “getting better,” according to a recent Gallup survey. The poll specifically showed that Americans who attend church weekly, are married, or are Republican, were the most negative about the country’s moral direction. But even Democrats, people who attend church infrequently, and the unmarried had high negative outlooks about the nation’s moral values. In the telephone survey of 1,535 adults

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa on Wednesday displayed a string of emails showing his failed efforts to get an update from the Treasury Department inspector general’s office about its investigation into the IRS practice of targeting conservative groups who sought tax-exempt status. Emails seeking the information date back to September 2012, six weeks before the November election. At that point, the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration had promised an update. Based on other evidence provided to the committee, the inspector general was aware of the IRS practice of targeting conservative groups

Piled high amid a trail of destruction, these tragic horses are among more than 100 thought to have been killed in the Oklahoma tornado. As well as human lives that were lost, farms around the suburb of Moore took a direct hit from the giant twister which swept up everything in its path with winds of more than 200mph and the power of up to 600 nuclear bombs. Witnesses who cowered in terror described seeing ´horses and stuff flying around everywhere´ and returning to find ´scorched earth´ and crumpled buildings. They came across distressing scenes of horses

A mother-of-two described tonight how she put her own life on the line by trying to persuade the soldier’s murderers to hand over their weapons. Cub scout leader Ingrid Loyau-Kennett selflessly engaged the terrorists in conversation and kept her nerve as one of them told her: “We want to start a war in London tonight.” Mrs Loyau-Kennett, 48, from Cornwall, was one of the first people on the scene after the two Islamic extremists butchered a soldier in Woolwich, south east London. She was photographed by onlookers confronting one of the attackers who was holding a bloodied knife.

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
