| Where is CIA Director Gen. David Petraeus? He seems to be the missing man in the unfolding Benghazi debacle. It is his agency, among others, which is being fingered by the White House for getting the Libya attack wrong. However, we know that within a very short time after the murder of our ambassador (an extraordinary occurrence) and others, our intelligence community did have the story straight: This was an organized al-Qaeda attack.(Snip)1. When, if ever, did Secretary of State Hillary Clinton become aware that there was a request for more security in Benghazi before 9-11-2012? 2. Who participated

Clinton, Rice and Petraus need to resign and Obama impeachment needs to begin.

And why, as late as September 25, was Obie spouting the "video" story in front of the General Assembly of the United Nations?

Nice Jennifer Boobin at least knows this story isn't going away. We won't let it go away until the responsible party is in jail or out of a job.

State watched the attack and did nothing, Why didn't we at least send something-anything to the attack even a F-15 doing low level sonic booms would be better than nothing. Our base in Sicily is not six hours away.. Murder most foul..

General is apparently seeking a colleges presidency position since he knows BO's done. Princeton was a rumor two weeks ago, probably by Muchelle & Val Jar to ensure the Director of the CIA's silence on the Benghazi lies. He faces a second income hit as his silence on BO's multiple failures seems to have been bought by having Elizabeth Warren appoint Petraeus' wife to a top spot in the new Consumer Protection unit of Dodd-Frank in 2011. So, for a little bit of Chicago to supplement his military pension, the Director seems willing to be a silent witness to a disastrous national security policy.

I'm not excusing the general's absence from the Benghazi discussion since he went on thr video bandwagon, but I think he's got a communication plan almost ready to execute. He's no dummy, and I seriously doubt he'd sell out for thirty pieces of silver.

The response to anything by the Obama minions is always based upon their assumption that the media will cover their corruption. Therefore they lie with impunity full knowing they will have plenty of amplification of their story line. Their response many times is simply a denial of the obvious truth and the liberal media takes their story and runs with it as an advocate assuming most citizens are either blindly loyal to Obama, ignorant or stupidly gullible. And usually they are right.

Agree with Poster #5. Where was the military response? The attack took place over a period of six hours. With the assets in the Med, in Sicily and Italy, the poster is right... even low-flying aircraft with sonic booms would have been better than nothing.
Outrageous.

Just a short while ago many on this forum were advocating for Petraus as Romney's VP choice. He sold out to Obama and continues to protect him in the runnup to the election. Reminds me of Powell.

Personally, I believe that Petraus is just being a good soldier. It's what he has done his entire career. I would not expect him to speak up.

It's great to read Rubin's blogs on Saturday and Sunday in the election runup. She is clearly a smart and hard working woman. She said on Kudlow that she has been following the election minute by minute for the last year and a half. Clearly, one of the best people in the press helping me understand what is going on.

@#10: Just for the record, Patraeus is no longer a soldier. He `is` the Director of the CIA and therefore has a duty to stand up and tell what he knows. Until he does, we can only assume he was also asleep at the wheel like the rest of this regime.

He is now Obie's soldier as head of the CIA. He has appeared to be an Obot for some time now. I have never been as wowed with him as some have, and I never ever would have wanted him anywhere near the White House, especially Jobs #1 and #2.

The silence of Petraeus makes me guess that he holds a trump card in this mess and everyone is afraid he will play it.
But that may just be a romantic notion, maybe he was told, or chose, to shut up and did.
The WH and Biden and State have been pathetic. All sorts of leaks and intermediates lying about anything and everything.
Congress will get nowhere, which is more or less the 21st Century definition of Congress.
It almost seems a deliberate strategy to make the mess so confusing that the public cannot be sure of anything. Thus blame is focused on no one, no errors were ever made, nothing is tangible, and can't we just move along.
Real soon now Obama will have drones kill a few dozen people said to be responsible. They will probably be nomads with a dozen camels trudging toward an oasis.

The Dir. of the CIA reports to the Senate Select Commtt. but the CIA is an executive agency. So Gen. Pray-Tell-Us is controlled by the dems. Leaks seem to be the only out.

Lots of legitimate questions on Benghazi, but I'm getting the feeling that Cairo is being forgotten. It's almost as if Hillary is being tossed to the wolves to keep the focus on Benghazi. Here are a few questions about Cairo for my favorite WP blogger:
Why did the US embassy in Cairo issue a statement condemning a Youtube video BEFORE the protests even began (Check Max Fisher's Atlantic article from 9/13)? How early did anyone in the US government find out about the planned Cairo protests, from whom, and what plans were laid by Obama political operatives to exploit the planned 9/11 protests for his presidential campaign? When was his UN speech written?

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is an independent civilian intelligence agency of the United States government. It is an executive agency and reports directly to the Director of National Intelligence, (James Clapper)with responsibility for providing national security intelligence assessment to senior United States policymakers.
Clapper and his minions are yet to be heard from. It will be interesting to hear their explanation of how they deemed the video was the igniter for the "mob" that stormed the woefully under protected ambassador, and why he let the White House continue with the absurd notion that the video and a mob were to blame for over two weeks when his minions had a direct feed and on the ground reports showing that was not the case. Clapper should resign his position immediately for incompetence.
Issa will never be able to quiz him about the affair anyway. There will be presidential roadblocks and slow boating that will make the Eric Holder affair seem like child's play.

ARDMORE, Pa. — Phil Mickelson is in a familiar position once again at the U.S. Open — to either finally close out a win in a tournament he truly cherishes or to suffer yet another maddening close call. Mickelson, a four-time major champion but the only player to finish runner-up five times in the U.S. Open, shot even-par 70 Saturday in the third round of the U.S. Open at unyielding Merion Golf Club and has a one-shot lead heading into Sunday´s final round.

When President Obama makes his first extended trip to sub-Saharan Africa this month, the federal agencies charged with keeping him safe won’t be taking any chances. Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency. Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels

It first begins with a peculiar, bitter smell.(Snip)Get sufficiently exposed, and you may faint or even die. These are the effects of pepper spray, the chemical that was used by the Turkish police against peaceful sit-in protesters who tried to protect one of Istanbul’s few remaining green spaces against a controversial reconstruction plan in Taksim Square on May 28. Undercover police then proceeded to set fire to the tents left behind by escaping protesters — with all their belongings in them — despite the protesters’ pleas. For many people, this was the last drop in the glass, which

“Personal responsibility” is a theme frequently drawn upon by people addressing the social problems of the day, including problems that face black communities. (Snip) The bigger problem is that a message that exclusively focuses on personal responsibility without an accompanying clarion call for society itself to improve gives us only half of the answer. No one exemplifies this problem more than Bill Cosby, who recently dictated an editorial to the New York Post in which he said, “There is this situation where people tend to think that we are all victims. Victim meaning somebody else is doing

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:

Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels. President Barack Obama made the pledge earlier this week after the U.S. claimed it found ´conclusive evidence´ Assad´s regime has used chemical weapons against the rebel forces--which includes the most extreme Sunni Islamists--and has called for Britain and France to back the move. While Britain hasn´t made a guarantee either way as yet, more than 350 Royal Marines are being sent to Jordan

During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans
