| COLUMBUS- President Barack Obama's campaign is urging the U.S. Supreme Court not to consider the Ohio secretary of state's appeal in a dispute over early voting in the presidential battleground state. Attorneys say in a court filing the campaign said it submitted Friday that the court should let a lower ruling restoring early voting rights stand and not hear Secretary of State Jon Husted's appeal. Husted appealed a ruling reinstating early voting the three days before Election Day and returning discretion to local elections boards. The Republican also asked the court to delay the lower court ruling

As far as I'm concerned, the federal voting day is November xx, not a day before, unless the federal government prohibited you from voting on that day. This would include, and be limited to, those in embassies, the military, and MAYBE contractors in service to our country, such as (gasp) Halliburton. If you cannot make it to the polls on that day, then that's your problem. This will eliminate a huge amount of voter fraud.

Sorry, #1 but what you want isn't the law. Some States have early voting, some don't. I agree with you that we should have ONE voting day and that's it. However, if Obama is "urging" Ohio's supreme court not to allow something (which he shouldn't be doing anyway), then whatever Obama wants, I want the reverse. There's a reason for this "urging" and could it be not enough time to get the fraud apparatus in place?

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. A 17-year-old boy and 22-year-old man were killed within hours of each other in separate West Side attacks Friday night, and a 29-year-old man was killed on the South Side, officials said. GUJRAT, Pakistan- At least 17 children were killed and 10 others injured when a gas cylinder on a school van exploded Saturday in northeastern Pakistan, officials said. The van, carrying 20 to 25 children, caught fire after the cylinder exploded, Dawn News reported. The driver survived but a teacher was reportedly killed, the BBC reported. The children, ages 5 to 15, were just a few miles from their school in Gujrat when the compressed natural gas canister exploded.
