Washington-The United States must look past the violence and extremism that has erupted after the "Arab Spring" revolutions and boost support for the region's young democracies to forge long-term security, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Friday. Clinton, seeking to reinforce the Obama administration's Middle East policy following a wave of anti-American violence and last month's deadly attack on the US mission in Benghazi, Libya, said Washington cannot be deterred by "the violent acts of a small number of extremists." "We recognize that these transitions are not America's to manage, and certainly not ours to win or lose,"
"But we have to stand with those who are working every day to strengthen democratic institutions, defend universal rights, and drive inclusive economic growth. That will produce more capable partners and more durable security over the long term." Clinton said Tell that to the four dead Americans.
Her Thighness is reading from a script that's over a year old. We are witnessing the rise of islamic fundementalism which is nothing but a thin veneer for murdering Muslim savagery. Where the hell has this woman been and what the hell is she smoking? This statement has Huma Abedin written all over it.
Hillary needs to change her hairstylist and her politics ( she looks like a crone). A strong United States is the only route to peace in the world. Without a strong US, every little two-bit tyrant will think he can attack without retaliation. Without US leadership, pretty soon the world will be in chaos.
She is not altogether wrong on each and every issue, but O! O! she is SUCH an annoying person! How sweet and fitting 'twill be when we are no longer hectored and lectured by her and people like her, people who have never done or accomplished a single meritorious thing or distinguished themselves in any way during their whole lives, people who have coasted, been carried, promoted, given a free pass and ridden on the shoulders and coattails of others to get where they are. People who are head over heels in love with themselves and their exalted principles.
There is hope. She cannot live forever, neither in the flesh nor in public life. Not even Jimmy Carter can live forever. The trouble is that it precisely people like these, people of no real substance or accomplishment or wisdom, who are the most tenacious in clinging to the public eye. This is a definite characteristic of Democrats. They never just fade away. They keep right on blabbing and scolding and finger pointing to their very last breath.
Sure, we are supposed to overlook the violence, so that the Middle Eastern 'Fast and Furious' does not get exposed any further....won't look too good when it comes out that the empty chair put weapons into Al Qaeda's hands, does it?
Not ours to win or lose?? Just how stupid is that? We spent 800 million dollars bombing Libya, supposedly freeing the people who are now killing our embassy employees. In the upside down world of hillary and mr. barack, though, ours is not to win or lose. It would have been like Truman saying, at the end of WWII, that germany is not ours to win or lose.
""But we have to stand with those who are working every day to strengthen democratic institutions, defend universal rights, and drive inclusive economic growth. That will produce more capable partners and more durable security over the long term." Clinton said"
I agree. However.....who are these people and where are they? Because the people that YOU supported and ARMED are interested in payback and implementing sharia.
As if we didn't have enough problems. Do Muslims now control the ACLU? According to this report they do. http://news.investors.com/ibd-editorials/092612-627214-aclu-hijacked-by-islamists-practicing-lawfare.htm?p=full

We will eventually have to refight the11th, 12th and 13th century's crusades. Weapons are going to be different, it won't be exclusive to middle Eastern countries and all enemy combatants won't look like Arabs. But it will be either that or surrender Western civilization to Islam.
Coming from the same people who ridiculed Bush for middle east democracy dreams. These were fake democratic efforts pushed by Islamists and given a green light by Obama.
There's no reason they couldn't have given Mubarak or Gadaffi 6 months to start election reforms and a more participative government.
I'll bet half the people in these countries wish they had the old way back.
Back when Turkey adopted secularism as it's government style,it could have been a model for the rest of these countries. Too bad Turkey has sold out to the Islamists but they're still moderate compared to the muslim brotherhood, hezbollah and hamas.
The former South African president died Thursday at age 95. Remember him through his uplifting and revolutionary words. 1. "A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination." 2. "Never, never again shall it be that this beautiful land will again experience the oppression of one by another. " 3. "There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living." (Snip) 12. "It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person
BEGIN TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I´ve gotta tell, another little thing about Nelson Mandela. Do you realize in a couple of ways, maybe even more than a couple, Nelson Mandela has more in common or had more in common with Clarence Thomas than he does with Barack Obama? For example, Nelson Mandela (even prior to becoming president, but certainly after he became president of South Africa) insisted on compliance with his country´s constitution. He insisted on it. Obama looks at the US Constitution as an obstacle and makes end runs around it every day, practically. In that sense... These are the kind of
RUSH: Let me give you what is, I think, one of the most amazing things I ever heard Nelson Mandela say. We had fun with Mandela when he was in New York, when he came to New York and went to Yankees Stadium. But I´ll tell you, there are very few people that could have undergone what he went through and maintained any sense of dignity or optimism.(Snip) "Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies." Is that not great? And it´s great because it´s exactly right. Resentment doesn´t do anybody any good.
The U.S. federal health insurance website HealthCare.gov, which has had technology problems since its October 1 launch, is now experiencing errors in transmitting applications about 10 percent of the time, a government spokeswoman said on Friday. The online insurance marketplace relays information about new customers in ´834´ transaction forms to the private insurance companies that provide the health plans. HealthCare.gov serves people in 36 states, while 14 states are running their own websites. "We believe nine of 10 transactions are being successfully transmitted," the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, spokeswoman Julie Bataille said at a news briefing.
Washington — Thad Cochran, a Mississippi Republican who was first elected to the Senate in 1978, set up a generational and ideological clash in the state’s Republican primary when he announced Friday that he would seek a seventh term in 2014. While Mr. Cochran, who turns 76 on Saturday, has the support of many leading Republicans in the state, he is already facing opposition from Chris McDaniel, 41, a state senator aligned with the Tea Party who announced his candidacy in October and has won the support of some conservative groups. Mr. Cochran, who has raised less than $1 million
Rep. James Sensenbrenner Jr., the original author of the Patriot Act, says Director of National Intelligence James Clapper should be prosecuted for lying to Congress. "Lying to Congress is a federal offense, and Clapper ought to be fired and prosecuted for it," the Wisconsin Republican said in an interview with The Hill. He said the Justice Department should prosecute Clapper for giving false testimony during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing in March. During that hearing, Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) asked Clapper whether the National Security Agency (NSA) collects data on millions of Americans. Clapper insisted that the NSA does not
Washington - President Barack Obama on Thursday defended his nuclear diplomacy with Iran before an audience of Israeli diplomats and senior members of the US Jewish community and officials. At a White House Hanukkah reception, Obama said that it was important for the United States to test Iran´s intentions, and pledged to keep working for a comprehensive deal to deprive Tehran of a nuclear weapon. "For the first time in a decade we have halted progress of Iran´s nuclear program," Obama said. "Key parts of the program will be rolled back even though the toughest of our sanctions remain in
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
US President Barack Obama may have moved the masses attending Nelson Mandela’s memorial service with his stirring eulogy, but it was his grinning "selfie" with the Danish and British premiers that set social networks abuzz. In a candid moment captured by a photographer, Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt can be seen holding up her smartphone, with Obama lending a helping hand, as they pose for a picture with David Cameron, all three of them smiling broadly in their seats at Soweto’s World Cup stadium.(Snip)Mashable, the news and technology website, ran the photograph under the headline: ‘‘Dear Obama: Funerals are no place
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
