Ryan’s Benghazi Surprise
National Review Online, by Larry Kudlow

Original Article

Posted By:Pluperfect, 10/13/2012 10:31:32 AM

The irony of ironies: The Biden-Ryan debate was more about foreign policy than the economy and jobs. And yet another irony: Paul Ryan, an expert on all things fiscal, revealed a much better knowledge base of foreign policy than anyone thought existed. Shows how smart and well-rounded he really is. In fact, Ryan’s Benghazi slam, right out of the chute, won him the debate. This terrorist attack is going to be a huge presidential-race issue. Americans are furious at the Obama-Biden-Clinton stupidity and mismanagement surrounding the tragic Benghazi deaths.

Comments:
Bill Kristol says he has been in the White House when a national security emergency broke and the President, Vice-President, SofS, National Security Adviser do not sit around twiddling thumbs and waiting for information. He said "It just does not happen that way."

4 weeks of spin, lies and coverup and now Obama prepares to double down and blame Hillary.
He has tried to shift the blame to almost everyone else and that little con-man film maker in California is still in jail.

Bill crys tell has achieved the obummer status imho. He has lost all credibility in his musings--only thing different is that obummer never had it!

Ryan won the debate with his sober, conscientious demeanor. I know there is a segment of the population that thinks the way Biden acted is "cute," but cute is not what we need in command.

I still can't believe how they are dumping this on SOS. Shouldn't POTUS step up to the plate and accept responsibility for what happens in his administration? This is not s/one getting a parking ticket -- four people were killed and the US was literally raped.

How any woman could vote for Obama is beyond me.

It was apparent that Raddatz's concentration on foreign affairs was meant to help Biden and trip up Ryan. It backfired.

Had that debate taken place 200 years ago during the infancy of the Republic, Biden would have been given the choice of pistol or sabres at dawn.
Rarely has any serious politician acted in such an insulting manner.

If Hillary is a true patriot, or even a true politician (2016), she would resign and leave the State Dept. immediately, telling the whole truth about Benghazi as she slams the door behind her, and saying she can no longer affiliate herself with the travesty that is the Obama Administration. This would signal the "old time Dems" (like Lanny Davis, etc.) who remain Bill & Hill fans, that they no longer have to prop up the imposter in the White House, and the Party could resurrect their theme song, "Happy Days are Here Again." To do anything less, means that Hillary will be forever tainted by the growing Benghazi scandal, and her future political prospects would be nil.

If Romney wanted to seal the election at the next debate, he should play the bi-partisan card.

Under his administration, he would ask Hilary Clinton to consider accepting a cabinet position (UN Secretary) for the good of America, the World, and the healing of the partisan divide in Washington.

Romney would also come to her defense and say that the State Department would finally have adequate defense at ALL Embassy offices around the world and that some Embassy office would immediately be closing the day he takes office.

The Obama “Foreign Policy of Appeasement” will end in 2013.
If a country is hostile to America, kick them out of the US and immediately bring our people home.

If the World wants to have ongoing relations with America, they need to show us their reasons: Fair Trade | Human Rights | Rule of Law (US Constitution not Sharia) |Religious Tolerance | Women's Rights. These should be the litmus tests.

Romney would get the Women's Vote and the Libertarian vote with just this one policy statement.

" Americans are furious at the Obama-Biden-Clinton stupidity and mismanagement surrounding the tragic Benghazi deaths. They are enraged at the Benghazi cover-up."

Really?? I haven't seen any evidence of that outside of republican circles.

President Romney should run, not walk, from both Clintons. The notion that Hillary is popular among American women is rubbish, perpetuated by her minions. She is the type who most women despise. Pushy, political, mendacious. Dangerous.

Looks as though her propaganda machine has invaded LCom.

The object of the Dims and the debate host (but I repeat myself) was to switch the topic to foreign affairs where it was thought Ryan was weaker. Surprise, he isn't.

Let's look at the record and see clearly that the idea that Joe Schmoe from Delaware is a 'foreign policy expert' is completely empty. His foreign policy 'credentials' are as false as his hair and his teeth. Mr. Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly enumerated examples of Joe Schmoe's foreign policy imbecility.

Your hyper-partisan mindset assumes that I am a propaganda machine for the Clintons.
Nothing can be further from the truth.

I am a Libertarian that has seen the Far Left and the Far Right blame their way into power, create a 16 trillion dollar accumulated deficit, and place over 120 trillion in unfunded liabilities at the doorstep of your and my children and grandchildren.

Washington is a bi-partisan disaster that is being perpetuated by people just like you.
You give no solutions other than a partisan one.
“Insanity” is defined as doing the same thing over and over again…..
Reagan and O’Neill worked things out.
Gingrich and Clinton worked things out.

It took 7 generations to screw up Washington.
It is likely to take 7 more to fix it.

Romney can start that process and Washington may resist.
But the American People will rally ‘round that initiative in spite of your pessimism.

So take another look at what I said and think it through again.

We want the same thing, don’t we?

Hillary Clinton started out miles to the left of Bubba before they ever married. She was and still is a rabid Alinskyite and will never change. She is probably to the left of Obie, if truth were told.

Objection to her has nothing to do with being a partisan. She is just the wrong person to use in any so-called bi-partisan endeavor.

Wasn’t Dzhokhar also wounded by the cops at some point? He’s a victim of gun violence too, you know. Am I awake? The event [in Concord, New Hampshire] had people supporting the Mayors Against Illegal Guns movement, founded by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, reading the names of those “killed with guns” since the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary outside their “No More Names” bus… Some of the loudest shouts came when a reader spoke the name of Tamerlan Tsarnaev, one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects who was killed by police during a gunfight. “He’s a terrorist,” several protesters shouted.

Karl Rove, the top political strategist to the Bush administration, said Tuesday that President Obama was right to contend that he was not like former Vice President Dick Cheney in his handling of the National Security Agency (NSA) surveillance programs. “He’s right, he’s not Dick Cheney — Dick Cheney at least had the guts to step up and defend these National Security Agency programs, where the president was sending out underlings in order to defend it himself and then going on a talk radio program, a TV talk program, as he fled the country for the G-8 meeting,”

Today, speaking at the Brandenburg Gate, President Obama paid appropriate tribute to the brave East Germans who rebelled 60 years ago against Communist dictatorship: "Today, 60 years after they rose up against oppression, we remember the East German heroes of June 17th. When the wall finally came down, it was their dreams that were fulfilled." But he drew a strange lesson from their uprising: "Their strength and their passion, their enduring example remind us that for all the power of militaries, for all the authority of governments, it is citizens who choose

Washington -- P. Jeffrey Black bumped up against his bosses in the Federal Air Marshal Service, eventually becoming a whistle-blower and testifying to a closed-door congressional hearing before his retirement in 2010. He had taken a long list of complaints to lawmakers about how the air marshals service was run, ranging from problems keeping marshals on flights to allegations of ineptitude and favoritism by managers. The same year he retired, he appeared in "Please Remove Your Shoes," a documentary critical of the airline security measures travelers endure on every trip. Then came the audit,

Within hours of announcing they were ready to talk peace, the Taliban took credit for killing four more Americans and the government of Afghanistan is backing out of negotiations. Is the whole process of bringing peace to the country doomed to fail? We´re not sure how Taliban leaders expect to forge a "political and peaceful solution" to the war in Afghanistan while continuing military operations against their opponents, but the Taliban has, in fact, taken credit for yesterday´s attack on Bagram Air Base that left four U.S. soliders dead. Their statement earlier on Tuesday on the opening of their diplomatic office

HARRISBURG — Sarah Murnaghan won her chance to get a new lung. After a week-long saga that involved U.S. Sens. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Bob Casey, D-Pa., Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius and a federal judge, the 10-year-old girl from Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, received the lung that she needed to continue her fight against cystic fibrosis. It’s a sad story, made all the sadder by the fact that Sarah’s parents had to seek out political leaders and public officials to solve a health-care problem that exists, at least in large part, because of federal regulations regarding organ donations.

Both parties constantly make accusations that their rival is engaged in hypocritical, unethical, or illegal behavior. Given the drastic lack of ideological diversity in the American elite media, the general public usually only hears about such accusations against Republicans. Beyond the fact that biased reporting shapes public opinion to favor the left, it may also have an effect on law enforcement. The persistent lies that have been told about right-leaning political groups by leading Democrats, including President Obama himself, may have led to the IRS abuses of power that we’ve heard so much about in recent weeks.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

This is the thirtieth anniversary of the publication of How Democracies Perish, an analysis of the spread of world communism by Jean-François Revel, one of freedom´s most serious French defenders since Tocqueville. At the heart of this work, Revel details "The Tools of Communist Expansion," among which the most relevant for understanding our current situation comes in Chapter 16, "Ideological Warfare and Disinformation." The profound simplicity of Revel´s nuts and bolts account of totalitarianism´s Cold War advance, far from being obsolete
