The irony of ironies: The Biden-Ryan debate was more about foreign policy than the economy and jobs. And yet another irony: Paul Ryan, an expert on all things fiscal, revealed a much better knowledge base of foreign policy than anyone thought existed. Shows how smart and well-rounded he really is. In fact, Ryan’s Benghazi slam, right out of the chute, won him the debate. This terrorist attack is going to be a huge presidential-race issue. Americans are furious at the Obama-Biden-Clinton stupidity and mismanagement surrounding the tragic Benghazi deaths.
Comments: Bill Kristol says he has been in the White House when a national security emergency broke and the President, Vice-President, SofS, National Security Adviser do not sit around twiddling thumbs and waiting for information. He said "It just does not happen that way."
4 weeks of spin, lies and coverup and now Obama prepares to double down and blame Hillary. He has tried to shift the blame to almost everyone else and that little con-man film maker in California is still in jail.
Bill/Hill are livid...betcha the break comes next week. she wants out of there before all of her political capital is kaput forever....it almost is now..that stupid talking like we all are in kindergarten is a joke...
I still can't believe how they are dumping this on SOS. Shouldn't POTUS step up to the plate and accept responsibility for what happens in his administration? This is not s/one getting a parking ticket -- four people were killed and the US was literally raped.
Had that debate taken place 200 years ago during the infancy of the Republic, Biden would have been given the choice of pistol or sabres at dawn. Rarely has any serious politician acted in such an insulting manner.
If Hillary is a true patriot, or even a true politician (2016), she would resign and leave the State Dept. immediately, telling the whole truth about Benghazi as she slams the door behind her, and saying she can no longer affiliate herself with the travesty that is the Obama Administration. This would signal the "old time Dems" (like Lanny Davis, etc.) who remain Bill & Hill fans, that they no longer have to prop up the imposter in the White House, and the Party could resurrect their theme song, "Happy Days are Here Again." To do anything less, means that Hillary will be forever tainted by the growing Benghazi scandal, and her future political prospects would be nil.
If Romney wanted to seal the election at the next debate, he should play the bi-partisan card.
Under his administration, he would ask Hilary Clinton to consider accepting a cabinet position (UN Secretary) for the good of America, the World, and the healing of the partisan divide in Washington.
Romney would also come to her defense and say that the State Department would finally have adequate defense at ALL Embassy offices around the world and that some Embassy office would immediately be closing the day he takes office.
The Obama “Foreign Policy of Appeasement” will end in 2013. If a country is hostile to America, kick them out of the US and immediately bring our people home.
If the World wants to have ongoing relations with America, they need to show us their reasons: Fair Trade | Human Rights | Rule of Law (US Constitution not Sharia) |Religious Tolerance | Women's Rights. These should be the litmus tests.
Romney would get the Women's Vote and the Libertarian vote with just this one policy statement.
President Romney should run, not walk, from both Clintons. The notion that Hillary is popular among American women is rubbish, perpetuated by her minions. She is the type who most women despise. Pushy, political, mendacious. Dangerous.
Looks as though her propaganda machine has invaded LCom.
Let's look at the record and see clearly that the idea that Joe Schmoe from Delaware is a 'foreign policy expert' is completely empty. His foreign policy 'credentials' are as false as his hair and his teeth. Mr. Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly enumerated examples of Joe Schmoe's foreign policy imbecility.
Your hyper-partisan mindset assumes that I am a propaganda machine for the Clintons. Nothing can be further from the truth.
I am a Libertarian that has seen the Far Left and the Far Right blame their way into power, create a 16 trillion dollar accumulated deficit, and place over 120 trillion in unfunded liabilities at the doorstep of your and my children and grandchildren.
Washington is a bi-partisan disaster that is being perpetuated by people just like you. You give no solutions other than a partisan one. “Insanity” is defined as doing the same thing over and over again….. Reagan and O’Neill worked things out. Gingrich and Clinton worked things out.
It took 7 generations to screw up Washington. It is likely to take 7 more to fix it.
Romney can start that process and Washington may resist. But the American People will rally ‘round that initiative in spite of your pessimism.
So take another look at what I said and think it through again.
I haven’t completely made up my mind about it. So I’m just going to think out-loud for a moment. As Christmas presents go, it’s certainly closer to a really sturdy pair of socks than it is to a new bike. And that raises the first point I think people should keep in mind: If you’re of a mind to oppose it, fine. If you’re inclined to support it, fine. But can we please dispense with the overheated rhetoric about it? It is neither a triumph nor an abject surrender. Attempts to turn it into the Defining Issue of Our Generation (until the next one at least), do not help the GOP or the cause in any meaningful way I can see.
Let me add a word to my comments from Tuesday night supporting the budget deal. I continue to believe that, as a matter of policy, the defense increase—which at least begins to undo the very considerable damage from a wildly and disproportionately anti-defense sequester—swamps in importance everything else in the deal. Everything else is basically a wash. The defense increase is a real plus. I continue to believe that, as a matter of politics, the deal is very good for Republicans. If passed, it takes another government shutdown off the table, and allows Republicans to focus on fighting President Obama rather
It was a short sound bite but it was replayed endlessly yesterday, angering some conservatives and leaving liberals chortling. When House Speaker John Boehner was asked during a press conference with other Republican leaders about criticisms from conservative activist groups of the budget deal struck by Budget Committee Chair Paul Ryan, he exploded: REPORTER: Mr. Speaking, most major conservative groups have put out statements blasting this deal. Are you – BOEHNER: You mean the groups that came out and opposed it before they ever saw it? REPORTER: Are you worried – BOEHNER: They are using our members and they are using the American people
MISSOULA, Mont. - A Montana woman on trial for killing her newlywed husband at Glacier National Park told the FBI "I pushed him and I took off." The statement by 22-year-old Jordan Graham was heard on Wednesday, the third day of her trial. She is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree murder in the July 7 death of Cody Johnson, 25. Flathead County Deputy Coroner Richard Sine testified that Johnson had an 8-inch fracture on his forehead and was not wearing a wedding ring when his body was found. Jordan Graham´s statement was in a recoding made by an FBI
Planned Parenthood’s 2012-2013 annual report is out, and a pro-life group has already found that the pro-abortion group received nearly $1.5 million a day in government funding over the year. “We are the nation’s leading reproductive health care provider and advocate, with more than 700 health centers across the country that will see nearly three million patients this year,” reads the report’s introductory message from Planned Parenthood chair, Alexis McGIll Johnson and president Cecile Richards. The report looks at Planned Parenthood’s impact, health services and financial situation.
I’m in a tough spot. Paul Ryan is one of the brightest stars in the Republican Party. He is a true fiscal (and social) conservative, and I cheered when Mitt Romney selected him as his running mate (although I wished Ryan rather than Romney were the presidential candidate, and I still hope he will be in the future). Ryan towers, literally and figuratively, over his Democratic opposition-turned-collaborators.(Snip)Some are arguing that no deal would be better than this deal; it is a refrain that you will hear from both the right and the left in coming hours and days. And in a
Following the release of the budget deal Paul Ryan agreed to with Patty Murray, there will be talk of a shift in Ryan’s political principles. The deal is being framed by its authors as a model of pragmatism, which is a good indication that it will conform to the belief that a fair deal is one from which both sides come away equally unhappy.(Snip)The truth is, most of Ryan’s career suggests he wants the gavel, not the veto pen. Such a career path, by definition, requires staying put. So the clearest evidence of Ryan’s aspirations was when he passed on
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
When I was a kid, I knew two different Santa Clauses. The first had a fat belly, rosy cheeks, a long white beard, and skin as pink as bubble gum. He was omnipresent, visiting my pre-school and the local mall, visible in all of my favorite Christmas specials. Then there was the Santa in my family’s household, in the form of ornaments, cards, and holiday figurines. A near-carbon copy of the first one—big belly, rosy cheeks, long white beard: check, check, check. But his skin was as dark as mine. Seeing two different Santas was bewildering. Eventually I asked my father what
Johannesburg - A man who provided sign language interpretation on stage for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service, attended by scores of heads of state, was a "fake," the national director of the Deaf Federation of South Africa said on Tuesday. Asked about the claim by The Associated Press, South Africa´s government said it was preparing a statement. Three sign language experts said the man was not signing in South African or American sign languages. South African sign language covers all of the country´s 11 official languages, according to the federation. It wasn´t immediately clear if the unidentified man was using a
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) snapped at conservative groups that have come out in opposition to the budget deal reached Wednesday between Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.). "They´re using the American people for their own purposes. This is ridiculous," Boehner said at a press conference with other members of House Republican leadership on Wednesday. Over the past few days, a number of conservative groups have blasted the deal because it sets discretionary spending levels in the budget higher than previous levels under sequestration. In the past three days, the influential Heritage Action, Club for Growth, Americans
Views of the tea party are at all-time lows in a new poll, as primary challenges to establishment Republicans continue to heat up Washington. Just 30 percent of Americans view the tea party favorably in a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the movement’s lowest point since Gallup began polling about it during its rise in 2010. Also in a first, a majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of the tea party, at 51 percent. Similar numbers of respondents described themselves as proponents or opponents of the tea party: Twenty-two percent identified themselves as tea party supporters, while 24 percent said they
