| President Obama touted his administration's bailout of the U.S. auto industry as American car companies are beginning to sell their 2013 model year vehicles."Every year around this time, American car companies start rolling out their newest, shiniest models, hoping to entice you into buying one," Obama said in his weekly address. "And this year is no exception. They’ve got some pretty good-looking cars coming out. "But something is different this time around – and it starts with the auto companies themselves," the president continued. "Just a few years ago, the auto industry wasn’t

This was and is a bailout of the United Auto Workers. They won, big time.
The rule of law (bankruptcy law) took a huge hit. The white collar retirees took a big hit. The "secured" investors took a big hit.
The UAW won.
The 95% of Americans who do not belong to unions should revolt. (11% of the workforce [bls] = 5% of population)

The new Bidenmobile will be unveiled. It has a huge shiny grill, a vinyl top and it only goes around in circles until it runs out of gas.

The new Bidenhole 2013 generates its own windpower but cannot be steered. Each new 2013 Obamagulf requires $2,000,000 in Union payola,a $100,000 charger in your garage, and then burns up itself, garage, and charger. The super Affirmative Action model will take out your house in addition.

somehow I don't think Obama is touting the $50 billion the US is in the hole with the bailouts and tax credits.
Nor do I see much about how the BANKRUPTCY COURT is about to rule that the deal was fraudulent. It seems that the conveyance to keep the Canadian parts was kept secret from the court.
The unsecured lenders want their money back.

It is very likely that GM will go bankrupt again [to reorganize] in the next 18 months. Maybe quite a bit sooner. So if you want to buy a GM product, there may be some real bargain prices coming...

"Bankruptcy" is completely misunderstood by the majority of people. Most believe that bankruptcy means a company closing its doors forever. Of course, in the case of GM and Chrysler, bankruptcy would have been the courts giving the companies a legal standing under which the company would be allowed to renegotiate its contracts and debts, and come back out as stronger and leaner. And still in business (which the Democrats fail to mention, so that Obama can be characterized as the "savior" that his narcissism demands).

CRAWFORD —Former President George W. Bush needed little help to blaze a trail Friday for 14 veterans mountain biking with him through open prairies, slick ravines and steep canyons. That’s because he brought the third annual Warrior 100K Ride — a three-day mountain biking trek to honor service members injured in Afghanistan and Iraq — to the well-worn paths at his Prairie Chapel Ranch outside of Waco. But even as Bush welcomed the wounded warriors to his home to thank them for their service, he made clear that his mission to help veterans extends well beyond the trails

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. You could even go to the post office and purchase one

Michelle Obama certainly knows how to work a room! In this case, it was a kindergarten classroom at Savoy Elementary School in Washington D.C., where the patrons were, well, pint-size. The first lady paid a visit to the youngsters, brightening their day with some silly dance moves performed in unison and imparting an important message about hard work and perseverance.Awww. According to the Huffington Post, Obama encouraged the kiddos to "try new things and not be afraid to fail, because we have all failed," and referenced Kerry Washington (also in the audience),

Today his teleprompter took the fifth.” JAY LENO: I´m sure you know by now, Anthony Weiner, the peter tweeter, you know that whole story. Well, he announced he is running for mayor of New York City, but he´s having some problems. A lot of Democrats are distancing themselves from him. They say he doesn´t

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience
