| The studios and filmmakers behind Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln are avoiding the appearance of trying to influence the U.S. presidential election by holding their movies' release dates until after Nov. 6.Another film, though, is making no bones about its attempt to sway voters. Atlas Shrugged: Part II, which opened Friday, not only wants to encourage moviegoers to vote against President Barack Obama, it’s boasting of its motives in its ad campaign. “Ayn Rand’s best-selling novel is now a major motion picture event. Will it influence the election?” a TV and radio commercial has been asking.

It is amazing that Ayn Rand could write a book of fiction in the 1950's, and that the Obama administration could change Atlas Shrugged into non-fiction.
Ms. Rand was truly a visionary that was able to look ahead to an America as a socialist nation.
I do hope the movie impacts the election.

Sadly, what Ayn Rand wrote about in 'Atlas Shrugged' is coming true under the community organizer.

I saw it yesterday, and it was good, but in a way that it was the setup for the next one.
There was some goofball in back of me that was talking to himself (but really for me) obviously a fan of the kenyan...with his "that's so ridiculous" burping and little laughs at crucial times. Though the old me would have started with him, I let it go...it was very desperate sounding.
We're winning, guys...
BTW, the guy who does the casting really, really, really knows how to pick the "adult female" for his movies. A true treat for the eyes of us red blooded American males.

My husband and I saw the movie yesterday and it's really, interesting to think this was written in the fifties and was a fictional novel and we are seeing it played out right before our eyes in 2012. We can not survive 4 more years of Obama. We must vote him out and vote Romney/Ryan in.

"Zero Dark Thirty" is released on December 19, 2012. The Seal Team Six Movie by National Geographic is televised the day before the election.

The movie will not influence the election. I saw it yesterday to support the group that made the first one (saw it too). If you did not read the book, you would be lost. Nobody that reads the book and sees the movie will vote for Obama.....perhaps Romney either.
I thought the camera work was not very good. There was a shot where they were across the street from a door and you could see the top of a sign. Rather than shoot the sign, or move it, they panned the camera down so you could read it and then panned back up.
To me, the only shot that made a statement was the $800+ gas pump image for 20 gallons of fuel.

An amazing show of thick headedness by proclaiming the cart before horse. Who would of thought a conservative in the 1950's writing a book against socialistic rule and tendencies would be writing specifically against the current admin? Is Animal farm also propagandisic material pro Romney? Is Soylent Green outing Food inc?

The Lady Chihuahua and I saw the movie yesterday. Both of us thought it was well made. Both of us have read the book, and the movie follows the book closely. Fascinating how they managed to make the movie apply to present day or 'near future'.
For people who won't understnad the message of Atlas Shrugged, best way to connect with them is to point out how much money the government is costing them, especially food and energy. Even welfare bennys don't go as far. Heh.
Go out and see the movie!
On a slightly different topic, found out Atlas Shrugged part 1 was shown in our area even though it wasn't advertised anywhere. Even on the Atlas Shrugged website. You had to check around, and it might be playing. The same could apply for part 2.
Looks like there will be a part 3.

WASHINGTON— The hunt for proof that Syrian government forces used banned chemical weapons may come down to a rotting corpse exhumed late last month from a makeshift cemetery near Damascus. The grave diggers — a Syrian doctor and several medical students — were seeking tissue from the remains of a man who had died of respiratory failure after a rocket allegedly spewed poison gas on Dariya, a suburb of the Syrian capital, on April 25. Reaching the cadaver several feet down, the team sliced open the cloth shroud, cut into the torso and removed a small piece of lung.

What do you do when your base is angry about Guantanamo? I guess that you promise to close it again. You also blame Congress for not giving you the money to do it. The problem is that it was a Congress controlled by Democrats that did not provide the funding. What about drones? You promise that we will "drone" more carefully from now on. Let´s hope that the terrorists will cooperate by keeping children away from them. What about tapping reporters phones? You say that it was about national security and because that "darn Congress"

On Melissa Harris-Perry Saturday morning, David Cay Johnston, an investigative reporter and professor at Syracuse University College of Law, lambasted the Obama Administration as hermetically sealed toward journalists, even in comparison to the Bush and Reagan administrations. Following a discussion on the President’s drone speech, in which the panel agreed that while drones are here to stay, the true problem is the lack of visibility and accountability into their use, Johnston expanded the point to a larger condemnation of the White House’s lack of transparency.

The emergency operating room where doctors tried to save President Kennedy´s life after he was shot has been broken into pieces and covertly stored in crates for years, guarded as if it were a state secret. As the 50th anniversary in November of the President´s assassination nears, an investigative team from local Dallas station WFAA went digging for the exact location of the broken tiles and medical equipment used on that fateful day. They found that the room was formally destroyed in 1972 when Parkland Hospital was going through an expansion and Trauma Room 1 had to be demolished.

CRAWFORD —Former President George W. Bush needed little help to blaze a trail Friday for 14 veterans mountain biking with him through open prairies, slick ravines and steep canyons. That’s because he brought the third annual Warrior 100K Ride — a three-day mountain biking trek to honor service members injured in Afghanistan and Iraq — to the well-worn paths at his Prairie Chapel Ranch outside of Waco. But even as Bush welcomed the wounded warriors to his home to thank them for their service, he made clear that his mission to help veterans extends well beyond the trails

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. You could even go to the post office and purchase one

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience
