Catholic Bishops: Biden Didn't
Tell the Truth About the
Obamacare's Abortion Drug Mandate

Weekly Standard, by John McCormack

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops released a statement Friday saying that Vice President Joe Biden falsely described Obamcare's contraception and abortifacient mandate: Last night, the following statement was made during the Vice Presidential debate regarding the decision of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to force virtually all employers to include sterilization and contraception, including drugs that may cause abortion, in the health insurance coverage they provide their employees: "With regard to the assault on the Catholic Church, let me make it absolutely clear. No religious institution—Catholic or otherwise,

Biden says he doesn't like talking. He needs you to show him, so excommunicate him so he knows you mean business.

Has an order gone out to read this from every pulpit this Sunday?
The Catholic Church must stop being REactive..it is time to ACT. Stop allowing the Lions and Tigers in the Coliseum aka Obama Administration from chewing off Catholics' arms and legs.

I almost feel like going to Mass at two different parishes this weekend, just so I can see if the pastors will speak out. Hmmm...Mass at St. Edith Stein and Mass at St. John Vianney. Sat. and Sun. Could happen. Hoping the pastors will speak out.

You mean JOE LIED?

I hope the good bishops get that memo out when Joe shows up in the confessional booth. Last I checked, the nuns that taught me would have made me include something like that under that commandment about bearing false witness.

I too noticed what he said right away as being incorrect. I believe that as long as EVERY employee is Catholic then they could opt out of the birth control/abortion mandate. They know that is impossible.

I expected a lightning bolt to hit him last night when he went all Catholic.

If he is a good practicing Catholic, I am Catherine the Great.

Biden lied, why is anyone surprised?

God bless the Bishops for standing up for Truth, and pointing out Biden's lies.

PS: I agree with #1.
And tell him he can be reinstated ONLY when his words and actions reflect Biblical standards.

I still can't understand why "Catholics" like Biden and Pelosi have not been excommunicated yet. I do remember one very brave parish priest a few years ago who refused to give communion to Ted Kennedy when the disgusting fat pervert had the nerve to approach the communion rail.

Biden believes in taking care of those who can't take care of themselves....except if you are still in the womb. What a jerk! Suddenly he's religious when it seems to justify socialism, but oh no....abortion is a private matter.

All of those faux Catholics on the left need to be publicly excommunicated. Come on, bishops!

Priests of America, go tell it from your pulpits this day and every day up to and including November 6th that Jesus Christ truly lives as does Religious Freedom in America when Obama is voted OUT OF OFFICE.

To hear a priest who is unafraid of the truth, even when it offends some of his parishoners, listen to Fr. Sammy Maletta on Youtube, or at the website of his church. He is deeply involved as a canon lawyer in the health care and religious liberty debates. This guy is beyond brave. He also has some excellent homilies on marriage and fatherhood. The church website is: http://www.stjohnparish.org/homilies.php (click on the first homily listed).

Holding AWOL Obama Accountable

President Obama offers only weasel words to explain deaths in Libya and IRS abuses. He’s the master of verbal evasion. House Republicans need to replace debate with action to hold the president accountable on these issues. To get to the bottom of why four Americans died in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, House Republicans should issue a formal resolution demanding to know where the president was on the night September 11 and what role he played. Obama needs to be put on the hot seat. Benghazi- For eight months, the White House has maneuvered

Much has been written and said about the astoundingly tone deaf performance of White House spokesman Jay Carney during this past month of scandals. The former journalist has lost the confidence of the people who were once his colleagues due to his unwillingness to tell the truth about his own deceptive statements (never mind those he represents in front of the press) about the Benghazi talking points or even to acknowledge that he has changed his story. The same applies to the shifting story he has told about the Internal Revenue Service scandal

A nonprofit connected to Rep. Corrine Brown (D., Fla.) and run by a local political power player overbilled Medicaid by nearly $1.4 million, the Florida Times-Union reported. According to an audit by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, the Community Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville overbilled Medicaid by nearly $1.4 million. Reggie Gaffney, a former Jacksonville Port Authority board member, runs the nonprofit, which provides medical services for mental illness, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS for low-income residents. Brown’s daughter, Shantrel, is a lobbyist for Arlington-based Alcade and Fay, whose clients include the nonprofit. C

Former Cambridge neighbors of a Russian mixed martial arts brawler shot dead by an FBI agent early yesterday in Florida — after ?being questioned about his ties to the marathon bombing and a Waltham triple murder — said he was nasty. Ibragim Todashev, 27, also hung around with slain marathon bombing mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 — swilling beer and eating chicken on a stoop on Harding Street, they said. “I was the happiest person when they moved. ... It’s a little more peaceful since they left,” a neighbor told the Herald yesterday of the Russian buddies.

The Real Voter Suppression of 2012

The 2012 election season was filled with angry cries of “voter suppression,” almost all of them regarding attempts by states to require voter ID and otherwise improve ballot integrity. Bill Clinton warned that “there has never been — in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the other Jim Crow burdens on voting — the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today.” Democratic-party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said “photo-ID laws, we think, are very similar to a poll tax.” All of this proved to be twaddle.

The Justice Department’s secret seizure of phone records from The Associated Press and its monitoring of Fox News reporter James Rosen are nothing less than thuggish attempts to criminalize the practice of journalism — the only profession specifically protected by the US Constitution. Free and open inquiry is also the cornerstone of our democracy, a legacy of the Enlightenment that found its clearest expression in the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” By which the Founders specifically meant political speech. They understood that, even with the checks and balances

A blood-splattered jihadist with a meat cleaver in one hand declaring to a bystander’s smartphone camera “Allahu Akbar” and “we will always beat you” in a pronounced south London accent? While waiting twenty minutes for the police to arrive after he’s taken part in what seemed like a ritual assassination of a British soldier? Exactly what terrorist profile does this conform to? None. And that’s what concerns British terrorism officials. Is this bizarre episode the beginning of a new, unpredictable pattern of loners operating without any organized backing behind them, or a one-off?

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

There’s really no reason for the press to suggest that the recent slew of scandals involving the Obama administration — Benghazi, the AP phone-record seizure, the snooping in James Rosen’s e-mail, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and so on — are a confusing jumble. There is a very clear thread running through all of the administration’s actions: The U.S. deputy chief of mission in Libya, Gregory Hicks, says that he was told not to speak to a member of Congress about Benghazi without a State Department lawyer present, that he received a phone call from Hillary Clinton’s
