White House: Obama and Biden
were never aware of requests
for more Benghazi security

Vice President Joseph Biden speaks only for himself and President Barack Obama, and neither man was aware that U.S. officials in Libya had asked the State Department for more security before the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, a top White House official told The Cable. Biden has come under fire for saying at Thursday night's debate, "We weren't told they wanted more security. We did not know they wanted more security there." The Cable asked Deputy National Security Advisor for Communications Ben Rhodes whether Biden was speaking for the entire Obama administration,

Proof of the Uhhhbama's administrations disengagement and lack of leadership regarding ANYTHING not relating to the Wan's er-election.

If true(And I doubt it is) it is far far worse than lying about it.

So both the president and vice president have been totally out of touch with what's going on regarding the terrorist situation around the world?

and that he is among the most sophisticated consumers of intelligence on the planet.

Really? This is their defense for the horrifying lack of security in Benghazi????

Another example of a lack of executive experience in either of these Jokers (and I can now use that term literally!). No executive would EVER trot out such a lame excuse.

Unfortunately, most Americans sense this and will be completely underwhelmed by this latest example of incompetence from the most powerful leaders of the free world.

When you have a community organizer and a 1950's windbag politician leading the nation, Americans are in danger. Whoever thought that Obama could learn to lead the free world intone or 2 terms has enabled our ambassador's murder.

Maybe because they don't attend security briefings? Of course, I doubt it got out of the State Dept. in the first place. But, guess what, Obama (and media puppets) ... the State Dept. is part of YOUR administration. They represent your leadership.

Suck on that.

Precisely #4. When the CEO of a company is on vacation 11 months a year it`s kind of hard to know what`s going on below deck.

Obama/Biden declared war on America in 2009. They both expected a few casualties along the way, or as Barack states, `a few bumps in the road`.

Is it surprising that the country is spinning out of control? The President and the Vice-President didn't know that an AMERICAN EMBASSY was asking for protection on Sept 11 Anniversary...who does Clinton, the Secretary of State work for? I thought it was for the President... he makes the policy...so Hillary should have been on the horn with him ASAP! Just like in Fast and Furious, Holder was not aware that HIS department was allowing weapons to be smuggled into ANOTHER COUNTRY and he was not aware what HIS department was doing...do these Obamacrats really think the American people are that stupid??? Other than the 47% that don't give a flip???

Several times Biden bragged about what he didn't know, he didn't get what Ryan was saying.

Ryan missed a HUGE opportunity to point that out, each time.

"I believe you didn't know, Joe, and now the ambassador is dead, so how do you feel about not knowing?"

FTA - ""Our ambassador in Paris has a marine detachment guarding him, shouldn't we have a Marine detachment guarding our ambassador in Benghazi?," Ryan said."

"According to the U.S. Embassy Paris website, there is a Marine Security Guard Detachment in the embassy, but they are there primarily to protect classified information and are not part of the ambassador's personal security detail."

A distinction without a difference. I have been to the American Consulate in Paris. They damn sure do have Marine guards at the entrance gate and at the doors as well. If that is not security, I don't know what is.

Does anyone know why the news networks, and C-Span, no longer carry the Jay Carney Press briefings?

I saw a brief clip on Fox News earlier, where he was completely flummoxed on the Benghazi security question. Would be great to see it happen live, as we did when President Bush was in office.

So BHO and JB are gonna do the "We knew nothing polka". Did neither of them attend the briefings? If not where were they? Did anyone try to contact them with the needs?? Who tried? Something isn't rotten in Denmark but it stinks to high office in the WH.
So is Boehner going to have the fortitude to begin hearings on this? Any need for an impeachment??? Anybody...you better believe there is or at least some resignations. Even if it has to be done after the election and BHO wins.

The Al Kyda(?) guys are on the constant look out for a US out post without securety and will surely go after it and as in this case kill any and all associated with it.

May be this why BHO scooted off to Vegas to evade (in legal sense ) any thing to do with this White HOuse fiasco.

Had same reaction as #29 – to split these hairs any finer you would need some pretty complex nanotechnology.

Hint, Joe: The American people aren’t interested in your explanation as to why you are incompetent. Somehow 0-bama is sooooo savvy that he put the noose on Osama single-handedly, but doesn’t know when our embassies are being threatened by terrorists on the anniversary of 9/11? Then he compounds the problem by blaming a YouTube video for weeks, including in front of the world at the UN? We agree that you are stupid and incompetent, but how does that demonstrate you are better suited for the job?

Reply 39 - Posted by: formerlyphelps, 10/12/2012 1:01:33 PM     (No. 8928511)

Sorry…
AND FURTHERMORE, if your defense is that there was a communication breakdown within the Executive Branch that led to the murder of 4 US citizens on US soil, what are you proposing to do about it?

We are done with your excuses. Now, 30+ days later, we’re still wondering what the response from the US will be - other than jailing the maker of a YouTube video and threatening free speech. Not interested in “We’ll make sure they are brought to justice!” Let’s see it.

Reply 40 - Posted by: Teleologicus, 10/12/2012 1:02:45 PM     (No. 8928514)

This is disingenuous and childish. "Nobody told me" is no defense. The buck stops at the top - or used to, before Obama. Obama inaugurated the "It was broken when I picked it up" excuse, which is equally childish. The president is responsible for a foreign policy that consciously and deliberately downplayed security in Benghazi. This was not some oversight, some tragic mistake resulting from a memo that lost its way. State was simply trying to carry out the misguided policy of the administration. Rather than owning up to their wrong-headed policy, Obama et al. are shoving anybody and everybody under the bus to protect their own hides. It would serve the White House right if all the career Federal bureaucrats began copying them on all memos and decisions in every department of the U.S. government, just to protect themselves from the "Nobody told us" excuse in the future.

Reply 41 - Posted by: John21, 10/12/2012 1:04:41 PM     (No. 8928522)

Which begs the question

Is this administration so out of touch with its own state department?

Or

How does the administration monitor the activities being done under their authority?

or

Is this administratiom so disconnected from the actions of its agencies that a fifedom environment has been created.

or

The total incompetence of this administration now on open display is the norm action?

I realize that the White House has not except responsibilty for any government action by any agency since before 2008.

That is the Chicago Way

Hillary knew or should have known. She was trying to cover her own rear end and now she is going under the bus. It also shows why Obama should have been going to Intelligence meetings every day instead of lining up fundraisers, going to the gym every morning, listening to Valerie, and playing golf. #40, I did that once or twice at a major Aerospace firm. It is very effective but one doesn't want to do it all the time. I had a particularly sticky problem that was getting stonewalled by my management. I replied and copied the president. The next day the problem was fixed and there were numerable people asking why they didn't have a chance to fix the problem before I copied the president. I ignored them.

Sometimes you have to notify the top before you get results. In this case with Obama and Biden, they are telling the world that they didn't know the security status on one of the worlds flaming and boiling hotspots!

A severe breakdown that only the President is responsible for. Libya, Syria, and Iran are where the Third World War may start and Obama went golfing and putzing around in Las Vegas instead of keeping himself informed!

After four years he doesn't know how to do that and for that we have to let him go.

That story is not believable. There had been as many as 12 previous incursions. To me, the real story is why officials in the State Dept and the "Intelligence Community" are not speaking out against the President and VP's claims. What are they scared of ? Congratulations to the two men that did speak up. But they are not getting support from their own or other agencies; This Administration is a cesspool of corruption, fraud, harassment, lies, lack of transparency, and you can keep on going. This is arguable the most vile Administration in History kept under wraps by the MSM. One only need look at the VP's debate decorum to see
what has crawled into the leadership of the u>S>

HIGHLANDS, NJ — New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Monday that President Obama "has kept every promise he´s made" about helping the state recover from Hurricane Sandy. Speaking on MSNBC´s "Morning Joe" program on the 6-month anniversary of the deadly storm, the Republican governor said presidential politics were the last thing on his mind as he toured storm-devastated areas with Obama last fall. "The president has kept every promise he´s made," said Christie, widely considered a potential candidate for the republican presidential nomination in 2016. "I think he´s done a good job. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails.
