| Heading into the closing stages of Thursday night’s vice presidential debate in Danville, Ky., moderator Martha Raddatz of ABC News steered the conversation away from foreign policy and the economy and toward abortion, a development that pleased both President Obama’s re-election campaign and some liberal media commentators. Raddatz, who has been under fire in recent days for her decades-old association with President Barack Obama, instructed Vice President Joe Biden and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan to discuss their Catholic faith as it regards the emotional and intensely personal issue.

In the selfish DNC imagined 'war on women' the only fatal female casualties are all the innocent, fully formed, murdered baby girls that 'Joe' and BHO and the 'impartial' members of the Supreme Court decree can be killed, EVEN if they survive the abortion.

Funny how the VP believes that you should bring your Catholic/Christian to help the poor but not to protect the unborn. An Easter and Christmas Catholic?

I loved Paul Ryan's answer and reference to his little "bean." I think a lot of people who were formerly neutral on abortion change their minds as soon as they see their own little beans in utero and realize - this is their baby!

Dems assume that all women support abortion. That is simply not the case, especially now with sonograms so readily available. While trying to help Dems, the moderator more likely hurt them.

My first thought during this part of the discussion is that the Catholic Church needs to step up to the plate and start denying the Sacraments to their members who support abortion. If protection of all life is a primary tenet of the Church, and you're unwilling to support that, then you should find a church more in line with your thinking. I'm sure the UCC would be thrilled to have Biden's tithe. Oh, that's right, he only gives 0.3% of his money to charity.

I was surprised that wasn't the lead off question frankly. The question came out sounding like it came from junior high.

When Razzatz asked the abortion question, I knew it was a "set-up." I felt it was an inappropriate final topic chosen for Biden to demagogue Romney, Ryan and the Rep. party.
Raddatz was complicit in encouraging Biden's interruptions of Ryan, and she stepped on Ryan's concluding statements numerous times so that the listener couldn't hear him.
This behavior is commonly seen on TV debates: interrupt and step on the opponent's conclusion so no one can understand the point that's being made. Usually it's the demonrat opponent who illustrates this offensive, rude behavior.

She knows darn well what side of the issue Romney and Ryan support so I can only assume she wanted to give Biden a chance to talk about the future Supreme Court picks, which he did. It works both ways on that tack.
I liked it when Paul Ryan said that on a trip to China, Biden said he supported their one-child policy.

ALL of her questions were focused on making Ryan look bad!
We all know Biteme had the questions in advance, he isn't that smart to know exactly what to say, how to say it and add in the arm waving if he wasn't severely coached WITH the questions that would come his way.
This whole 'debate' was a fiasco and was a planned hit job on Ryan, pure and simple!
Put them on truth serum and we'll get the truth!

Biden said he has been a "practicing catholic" all his life, then endorsed abortion. Biden and Pelosi have supplanted the pope for catholic doctrine.

Im glad to hear that any gains Crazy Joe got at debate were washed out by his indecency. But this Radditz upset me off. There was at least one - two moments where CRazy had finished his lame reply and Radditz asked a follow up and you could see abject fear in Crazys eyes as her qwuestion unraveled and then as she finsished she said please rpely to that Cong Ryan. ahnd Crazy breathed a sigh of relief. Gimme a break. The issue of why RNC allows far left moderators has to be discussed and dealt with. This is insane. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/261623-conservatives-say-debate-moderator-letting-biden-steamroll-ryan

Amid the political boiling oil of three simultaneous scandals, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney continued Monday to defend the Obama administration´s handling of troubles involving the Departments of Justice, Treasury and State. In a hearing that started 45 minutes late after a one-hour announced delay, Carney said that ´no one in this building intervened in an ongoing, independent investigation´ by the IRS Office of Inspector General, which was examining ´Nine IRS employees´ who were targeting conservative groups for special scrutiny. ´We did not have a copy of the draft report´ before it was leaked to media outlets

Former U.S. Attorney for Arizona Dennis Burke violated Justice Department policies by releasing a memo written by an Operation Fast & Furious whistleblower to the media, Justice´s Inspector General found in a report issued Monday. The report called Burke´s actions "wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney." He resigned after acknowledging the disclosure in 2011, so no discipline by the department is possible. However, Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred the matter to Justice´s legal ethics watchdogs for possible referral to bar authorities in the District of Columbia and Arizona.

Let me preface by saying that I´m not criticizing Bill Karins for his choice of words. Thank, uh, goodness, we live in a country where we´re free to believe in any God or no God at all. But I do see Karins´ construction as a sign of the cultural times. The Morning Joe meteorologist today aired dramatic footage of the weatherman at the NBC affiliate in Wichita, Kansas ordering his colleagues to take shelter because a tornado was headed right at the station. Said Karins: "By the grace of whatever, God or whatever else, it lifted

The White House Visitors Log reveals that President Barack Obama met with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) union boss Colleen Kelley on March 31, 2010—the day before the Inspector General´s report says the IRS began its scheme to target tea party and conservative groups. Furthermore, Obama appointed Colleen Kelley, president of the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), to the Federal Salary Council whose job is to recommend pay raises for IRS and other federal employees one week after Obama and Democrats suffered historic midterm losses in 2010. Two years later, Kelley’s 150,000-member union had raised $580,412,

Now that the race for Virginia’s next governor has kicked into high gear, NBC News’ Chief White House Correspondent has decided to be partisan and sharply criticized the Republican ticket. On his May 20 edition of The Daily Rundown, the MSNBC anchor hammered the GOP’s nominee for Virginia Lieutenant Governor, African-American pastor E.W. Jackson, as extreme and someone who “might make Todd Akin look like a moderate.” "Can the GOP win in 2013 with a ticket of candidates who are best known for being very conservative and very outspoken on social issues?" Todd rhetorically asked before playing several clips

As Congress and the public struggle to comprehend the scandals rocking the Obama administration, it is important not to overlook a common thread linking all of the misconduct: the administration’s paranoia that voters would see it as weak on national defense. For having the temerity to raise questions about U.S. policy toward terrorists and Iran, Israel and North Korea, the Obama IRS targeted a non-partisan group with which I am affiliated and illegally leaked its confidential information. The White House’s paranoia about public perceptions of foreign threats also drove its scandalous surveillance of Associated Press (AP) reporters.

NORFOLK -This was supposed to be the week when thousands of free-spending Norfolk sailors were to descend on lower Manhattan, where New Yorkers promised to shower them with gifts, drinks and kisses. But the annual party on the Hudson River was canceled. Fleet Week New York – like all the Navy’s big community outreach events this year – fell victim to sweeping federal budget cuts. Most of the sailors who would have been treated to free baseball tickets and complimentary subway rides instead will spend the week idling in Hampton Roads traffic and reporting for duty at Norfolk Naval Station.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

WASHINGTON – White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday Republicans owe Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, an apology for alleging she played a part in formulating the White House’s response to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, last year that killed four Americans. Pfeiffer said on ABC’s “This Week” that the release of more than 100 pages of Benghazi emails and notes show “beyond a shadow of the doubt” that accusations she tried to change the narrative of what happened in the attacks was false. "And, frankly, I think that many of the Republicans
