Biden contradicts State
Department on Benghazi security

Foreign Policy, by Josh Rogin

Vice President Joe Biden claimed that the administration wasn't aware of requests for more security in Libya before the Sept. 11 attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi during Thursday night's debate, contradicting two State Department officials and the former head of diplomatic security in Libya. In fact, two security officials who worked for the State Department in Libya at the time testified Thursday that they repeatedly requested more security and two State Department officials admitted they had denied those requests.

I guess nobody on Team O-B watched the hearings the other day.

Or read their newspapers either.

Or got online either.

And I guess they don't have enough friends, since nobody else told'em either.

And THEY'RE IN CHARGE of EVERYTHING.

Greaaaaaat................. But not for long!

In the memo from the official concerning security in libya, he used the word "recommend" rather than "request". I'm serious, they (dems)actually went there.

I'd like to be the first to recommend a title for Joe Biden's pre-posthumous autobiography: "Dreams From My Blather ".

I feel like this question coming out first was a set up for Biden. If you noticed, she went to Ryan first, then Biden got to answer and basically lie, then she went on to other things, not giving Ryan the chance to contradict. If Im wrong, I stand corrected and I think Ryan missed a huge opportunity. Either way, dont think Obama will get away with this on Tuesday with Romney. For the first time, the presidents debate will address foreign policy. Up till the Libyan mess, Romney didnt have a lot to talk about. Now he can smack him where it hurts.

2 SEALS murdered.

1 MARINE murdered.

1 United States Ambassador raped and murdered.

Biden ''We weren't aware they requested more security.''

obama: ''This is just a bump in the road.''

obama: ''This is only being discussed because the Romney team has politicized it.''

Who ya gonna vote for?

If the reviews on Biden's performance are too caustic, Obama is going to have to change any plans he has by being disrespectful and contemptuous of Romney in the next debate.

Ugh! I can't get the image out of my mind of that clownish behavior of Biden's. I would be embarrassed if I were a Democrat. Is this who you want in the driver's seat, Independents?

I agree with the above post at #6. I also believe that the Biden team was given the questions in advance by the liberal press.
... I wonder if I am the only person who noticed that Martha actually inserted herself into the debate, aiming her biased tongue at Ryan a couple of times.

The dems are not offended when their leaders reinvent the truth, if it is for a good ultimate goal. As Romney said last week, just because you keep saying it doesn't change the facts of what happened.

Go to CNN and listen to Piers Morgan and Wasserman-Shulz about "lying" to the American people. She made a comment that is not included in the bit about "just telling the people what they 'need' to know. In other words, democrats lie!

#9 Martha tried to make the debate about her.
Unlike Lehrer.
She obviously took rudeness lessons from Biden.
Many times when Ryan was in the process of answering a question -she cut him off.
Apparently letting him finish his answer was not her priority.
I'm glad she never attempted to bring decorum to the debate by trying to enforce some basic rules of
behavior .
Biden took this as his cue to run wild and the grimacing, sneering, eye rolling, rictus grinning ,
snorting and constant snide interruptions reinforced that he is just as unfit to be in
the Oval Office as Obama is.

Re #2, Eric Norwood, who sent the cable from Libya requesting the security personnel, has specified that he used the word "request". This was abundantly clear from the testimony of the witnesses who represented the Libyan post at Wednesday's House Oversight Committee hearing on Benghazi security.

A for Biden, he is obviously far, far out of the loop as he denied there had been a request for security when that had been discussed thoroughly at the highly reported hearing on Wednesday.

His reason for being stuck on the video vs. terrorists position on the Benghazi attack may be traced back to DNI head James Clapper. Reported September 28th:

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper's office on Friday tried to explain the shifting public explanations for who was behind the deadly Sept. 11 attack on the American compound in Benghazi, Libya. DNI public affairs director Shawn Turner said U.S. intelligence concluded "in the immediate aftermath" of the assault that it had begun "spontaneously" in the wake of violent protests in Egypt.

"We provided that initial assessment to Executive Branch officials and members of Congress, who used that information to discuss the attack publicly and provide updates as they became available," Turner said. "As we learned more ... we revised our initial assessment to reflect new information indicating that it was a deliberate and organized terrorist attack carried out by extremists."

The point is this blathering idiot grimacing and smirking at Paul Ryan was distracting to the viewer . Paul Ryan on the other hand was calm collected and a real gentlemen even congratulated Biden after the debate.V.P. Biden LIED when he said he did not vote for the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. For the record he did VOTE YES for both wars.Suming up Biden lost his cool and as a consequence lost this debate.

Maybe if Obama had attended national security briefings he would have known about the need for more security in Libya. If he was aware - or cared about - the ongoing threat, he wouldn't have to be told more security was needed.

I know it is easy to second guess the "man who is actually in the arena", but I wish our next VP would have said something along the lines of - "President Romney will not be going to bed when an American Ambassador is missing...but, of course, President Romney will not allow an American Ambassador to be in such an unprotected situation!"

The White House denies that the request for additional security reached Obama and Biden. Perhaps the critical question is whether the request reached Valerie Jarrett.

One thing sure, and Dick Morris said it effectively today, the bombastic, 1950's style characature of a windbag politician, Biden, certainly is not the kind of bufoon that America needs a single heartbeat away from being the President. This guy is wierd.
There was no winner, Ryan was too soft, but there WAS a loser in Biden's erratic, scary behavior.

The "inconvenient truth" is that, after several request, the requests for more security for our embassy in Libya were denied. At the same time our embassy in France had a detachment of Marines protecting it.

Now I know how hostile and dangerous Paris is relative to Benghazi. And, the Libyan government is far more capable of providing protection for our embassy than the French government. But, I do think a detachment of Marines would have made a difference in the outcome in Benghazi.

Ah, well! That's just "bumps in the road." Four bumps to be exact!

Reply 24 - Posted by: Franz, 10/12/2012 2:17:15 PM     (No. 8928695)

It was revealed that the State Depart was receiving real-time information about what was happening in Benghazi. This included the fact that all was quiet until armed men invaded the embassy compound.

If the “intelligence community” was reporting that this was a spontaneous demonstration for more than a week after the attack, it should be justification for firing the lot of them for gross incompetence. The same goes for all the State Department officials said the same thing. They should have known the truth since they had access to the real-time information. If they didn’t know, they were stupid beyond belief. If they did know, they were out-and-out lying! If the State Department withheld the real-time information from the intelligence community, heads should roll!

It is beyond belief that the Obama administration, State Department, and intelligence community didn’t know the truth from the get-go.

Perhaps if the quasi-Muslim, dilettante pResident had spent time with his daily security briefers instead of Joy Behar and Whoppie Goldberg, four brave Americans would not have had to die at the hands of Muslim terrorists on September 11, 2012.

The nation has been in peril from Islam for a long time, but never more than at this moment when we have a Mulatto Marxist Muslim Butt Boy in office.

I am so angry I could spit. All this administration can do is lie, lie, lie. I wanted to slap Plug's Chicklet teeth out of his mouth last night. And he's back on the campaign trail today telling more lies.

Reply 27 - Posted by: Pepper Tree, 10/12/2012 9:01:13 PM     (No. 8929326)

So Biden's excuse for him and Obama doing nothing to prevent the sacking of our embassy in Benghazi is ignorance.

They didn't know. And why would they? They don't attend security briefings, they don't start "working" until late morning if at all, and their main purpose in life is to collect money for their re-election campaign.

"I didn't know" and "I forgot" are the excuses of a seven year-old. But Old Joe acted almost twice that last night.

At a secret February ceremony at CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., the chief of the CIA’s base in Benghazi the night of the 9/11 anniversary attacks there was awarded one of the agency’s highest intelligence medals, according to U.S. military and intelligence officials. The honor given behind closed doors to “Bob,” the officer who was in charge of the Benghazi intelligence annex and CIA base that was attacked in the early morning of September 12, 2012 and then abandoned for nearly three weeks, illustrates the murky lines of command that preceded the attack, and helped make it a politically volatile issue.

The Senate on Monday opened debate on a $955 billion farm bill that would reduce federal spending by as much as $23 billion over the next 10 years by cutting funding for food stamps and eliminating some farm-support programs. "This legislation will create jobs, cut taxpayer subsidies and reduce the deficit," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Monday. The White House offered only conditional support for the bill, an indication that lawmakers will need to make changes to win the president´s signature. The Obama administration in April called for a 3 percent reduction in the nation´s crop insurance program,

Journalists are understandably alarmed by the revelation that President Barack Obama´s Justice Department targeted Fox News reporter James Rosen during a leak investigation of a State Department employee. The news, reported by the Washington Post late Sunday night, reveals that the Obama administration will apparently stop at nothing to track down whistle-blowers who leak classified information. In Rosen´s case, that included implicating him as a "criminal co-conspirator" whose actions were punishable with up to 10 years in prison. The Democratic candidates for mayor in New York are campaigning to win the support of the teachers union. They threaten to return the city to the horrors of the David Dinkins era. Back at the turn of the 1990s, New York City was a mess. Crime was rampant. The schools were dreadful. Children in foster care were brutalized because–as the head of the Child Welfare Agency said–”oversight is racist.” The mayor was an incompetent. And, above all, the city was run for the benefit of its employees rather than its citizens. What followed was 20 years of governance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”
