CNN's Crowley reveals how she
is prepping for presidential debate

The Hill [Washington DC], by Judy Kurtz

The presidential campaign has Candy Crowley seeing blue — literally. The “State of the Union” anchor is awash in TV blue cards, colored notes she uses to write down potential subjects and talking points as she prepares to moderate the next debate between President Obama and Mitt Romney on Oct. 16. “I have blue cards on my bedside table. I have them in my bathroom. And I have them at work. And I have them in my kitchen,” Crowley says. Despite her more than 25 years in journalism, CNN’s chief political correspondent

If she were at ABC she would be pouring over her Wedding Album.

She tossed out the Red Cards long ago. I'll bet she's sharpening her hatchet right now. Maybe Mitt can set an Acme Bullshirt Detector on the podium and watch it go ballistic when Candy opens her yap.

I think Candy Crowley as one of the moderators is probably the best we could hope for. She generally seems pretty even-handed when questioning politicians. She will work hard to be fair and although we may be grumbling about some questions, my guess is so will Obama partisans.

Can't wait for tonight by the way. Joe will be charming, but Paul Ryan will be ready for him. If (as I expect) Ryan is perceived the winner of the debate, Obama will be under more pressure and O doesn't do well under pressure.

Plus, every morning Candy checks her email to find the most recent questions she will be expected to ask of our beloved Dear Leader(US) and that dastardly, mean, murderous, evil Romney.

Easy to find ... they'll have the whitehouse.gov email or obama.com email address

Given the incestuous relationship between the press and democrats it would be nice if someone could produce a flowchart of her connections, both personal and professional with the administration.

Though Ms Crowley favors the Democrats, hopefully, with many millions of viewers, she will play it straight, like a true journalist.
If she does a really impartial job, we just might see her on the FOX cable channel ,where
she can double or triple her normal viewing audience. I'd like to see her on THE FIVE where she can bump Mr Beckel into retirement. He will exit LEFT.

I don't watch CNN, but if she is the best they have it's no wonder CNN has such low ratings. On the bright side there are many worse liberal moderators they could have come up with than her.

Ryan has enough intellectual firepower to level both of them. I want her to come off as a shrill, shrieking shrew; a class-less partisan hack. In other words, I want her to just be herself. Ryan will speak directly to America and demolish both of them. And then we can begin discussing separation of Media and State and civil RICO suits against the DNC and the academic-media complex.

My only wish is that after the election she will not only be seeing blue, but also be feeling blue.

It's her far Left brain, and elite media tiny circle group think that I am concerned will influence her questions for R. and not for O.

Michael Hastings, a contributor to Rolling Stone and BuzzFeed, died on Tuesday morning in a car crash in Los Angeles at the unforgivably young age of 33.He is best known, rightly, for his 2010 Rolling Stone profile of Gen. Stanley McChrystal, who as commander of the U.S.-led force in Afghanistan was the face of the war that Hastings saw as misguided and poorly managed. His profile, “The Runaway General,” portrayed McChrystal as a loose cannon so sure of himself and his strategy for the war that he and his staff openly derided their civilian overseers,

Senate rejects border fence

Senators on Tuesday rejected building the 700 miles of double-tier border fencing Congress authorized just seven years ago, with a majority of the Senate saying they didn’t want to delay granting illegal immigrants legal status while the fence was being built. The 54-39 vote to reject the fence shows the core of the immigration deal is holding. The vote broke mostly along party lines, though five Republicans, including Sen. Marco Rubio and the rest of the bill’s authors, voted against the fence, and two Democrats voted for it. Republicans had offered the fence as a way to

[Video] Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory (R-Opelousas) explains why he recently switched from the Democrat Party to the Republican Party. He discusses the history of the Republican Party, founded as an Abolitionist Movement in 1854. Guillory talks about how the welfare state is only a mechanism for politicians to control the black community. Hello, my name is Elbert Lee Guillory, and I’m the senator for the twenty-fourth district right here in beautiful Louisiana. Recently I made what many are referring to as a ‘bold decision’ to switch my party affiliation to the Republican Party.

Tough global rules to stop mega-rich firms and individuals from dodging tax were unveiled at the G8 summit today. David Cameron demanded the world’s most powerful countries act to stop countries shifting profits to low-cost tax havens instead of paying they dues where there are earned. The Lough Erne Declaration - signed by the UK, US, Germany, France, Italy, Canada, Japan and Russia - vows to ´fight the scourge of tax evasion´ by ensuring automatic exchange of tax information and changing the rules to stop multinational companies shifting profits across borders to avoid paying their fair share.

A controversial federal agency subject to little congressional oversight has advised its employees to include minimal details about agency events on work calendars that are subject to Freedom of Information Act requests. In a flier circulated to employees and obtained by the government watchdog group Cause of Action, the bureau’s FOIA office instructs employees to “keep your calendar entries brief and general.” The guidance has some observers concerned that the agency is instructing its employees to be more opaque in its daily operations. “Transparency is at the core of our agenda, and it is a key part

On ‘Morning Joe’ this morning, the slightly thinner Gov. Chris Christie R-N.J. dodged 2016 presidential speculation by announcing that he would not wear a Speedo swimsuit on the Fourth of July. “I can announce I’m not wearing the Speedo on the Fourth of July, that’s something I’m happy to announce” Christie joked after MSNBC’s Willie Geist pressed the governor for his political aspirations. Christie has reportedly lost 40 pounds after a successful lap-band surgery earlier this year. Later in the show, Christie explained that during a visit Jersey Shore on Monday, he was approached by several young women

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Is Marco Rubio, R-Fla., getting played by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.? During his interview with ABC’s Jonathan Karl this morning, Rubio didn’t even seem to understand what that meant. “Are you being played by the Democrats?” asked Karl. “Is Chuck Schumer playing you?” “I don’t — I quite frankly, I don’t even know what that means,” Rubio replied. “Is he using you?” Karl continued. “Is he using you to try to accomplish something that the Democrats want and is not — not a conservative bill?” Rubio responded that immigration reform was a bi-partisan issue that “all Americans

We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
