| The first time I watched the Jimmy Stewart classic film, "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington", I was too young to appreciate how very insightful it was in describing how things work in our government. Many years later after joining our local tea party and getting involved in sending Michael Grimm to represent us in Congress, I was struck by how that movie presaged what he would expect in D.C.

After redistricting, Grimm's new district is CD-11 where he runs against Mark Murphy. According to a Sept 25th Siena College poll, Grimm holds a 10 point 48% to 38% lead over Murphy and a 5 to 1 advantage in money. According to my latest email (10/10) from the West campaign, the latest poll shows the Congressman holds a 53% - 41% advantage over challenger Patrick Murphy (no relation to NY Murphy) in the new Florida 18th CD. I hope both polls hold true.

Not just just Obama and his army of neo-Marxist activists are the problem inside the Beltway.
The entrenched egos in Congress and the permanent floating Federal bureaucracy are even more sources of bad government.
They cripple reform in subtle and not so subtle ways.
And, of course there is the corrupt and complicit press.
Notice how Palin, Herman Cain and the Tea Parties have been treated.
The only answer I can see is more Tea.

We need to make sure that Romney gets a full GOP congress to pass through reform and repeal Obamacare. That means pay attention to all races and donate in tough races

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men.
