Mother of Navy Seal
killed in Libya speaks out

WHDH-TV [Boston, MA], by Staff

Original Article

BOSTON -- The attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya became a major issue on the campaign trail and the mother of a Navy Seal killed in the violence is voicing her anger that Mitt Romney is speaking about her son on the campaign trail. “I met some remarkable people, one of whom was a former navy seal. I just learned a few days ago that he was one of the two former navy seals killed in Benghazi. It broke my heart,” Romney said to a crowd on the campaign trail. Glen Doherty was one of four Americans

Comments:
I note that the media didn't ask her how she felt about 0bama and because of the negligence and incompetence of the regime her son was killed. What a glaring omission. Romney told a wonderful, respectful story. I cannot see why she would be so offended. What else would you expect from the leftist media in Boston.

The obama administration is still lying and spinning what happened to her son. Romney's story was respectful. I know she is in pain but if she wants to be upset be upset at obama/clinton.

Wonder if she will change her mind when she gets her Condolences From Letter from Our Dear Reader...

Romney should just drop this mention of her son.

Someday when the election is over, she can sit and think about the great job Obama did of protecting her son...while he was denying additional protection for him.

It is not degrading Obama... it is telling the truth.

Contrast with his widow's comment.
One of the last things her husband
said to her,"get me a new President."
Romney had a relationship with her son and is honoring His Wish.

Who knows what I would say if it were my son ~ I know her heart is broken. The truth, however, is that the pleas for more security we ignored and 4 people died who should have never been in Harms way. Obama and company the blood is shared by you as well as the Muslim Terrorists.

Too bad she spews her anger at Romney and not BO, who is, after all, the real agent of disrespect and expedience.

I realize that she's going through the stages of grief. How she could launch on Romney makes no sense, though. Unless, that is, she is highly political. People like that subordinate everything to their political goals.

We are very sad about his and the others' deaths, and about every precious life lost in this War on Terrorism. Of course, this, despite the BO regime refusing to admit that Benghazi was a terrorist attack.

#10 I hate to break it to you, but soldiers are part of the political process because, as you must have forgotten, war is just politics by another means. Thus, every soldier ever to give his life for his country was in some way used by politicians. That's what being a soldier is.

At least Mitt is using it in an effort to be a better Commander in Chief than the current one is.

#11: you are correct. I'm sorry for this woman's loss (and his friend's loss), but this is really low. Contrast it with what the man's widow says and you can see who has an agenda here.

Obama got this man killed. He lied about the circumstances of his death and, now busted, he's lying again. Romney has called him out on it, as is right.

And now the media have their "squirrel!"

Human Events got a very different story compare to this. They got it that Horton was pleased with Romney while WHDH-TV Boston got this. I hope that Human Events got this one right.

I could be wrong, but I do not believe that Romney mentioned this man by name?

She is directing her bile at the wrong person. It would be interesting to see who she will vote for. She already said she does not trust Romney. If she votes for Obama, she did not deserve her son and God simply took him back from her. On a universal sense, this is less to do with that moment in Libya and more to do with her nature as a mother. Is she a lefty who hates what her son was willing to defend and die for. I concur with what #2 said.

One day it will hit her that the WH's mendacity and neglect contributed towards the murder of her kid. How can she live with that?

This just does it for me, I heard this on Rush today. While I softened my position about Romney after the debate, this heartfelt story honoring this brave man brings me solidly into the Romney camp. No longer is he the candidate I have no choice to vote for, he is the candidate I *want* to vote for. This may be a first in my life time of casting votes.

Reply 16 - Posted by: jar, 10/10/2012 4:27:38 PM     (No. 8923762)

Since when does anybody, regardless of whether they're running for political office, have to be muzzled and not speak about something if they so choose? Doesn't freedom of speech mean Romney, like anybody else, can talk about this incident? Also, I believe the two stories, Boston one and Human Events, are speaking about two different men, Dougherty and Horton, not the same story.

Reply 17 - Posted by: earlybird, 10/10/2012 5:48:03 PM     (No. 8923957)

Wait till she wakes up and hears how Obie's State Department minions caused her son's death by negligent disregard for calls for additional security - or just the ability to keep what they had, a good part of which was pulled out in August.

I'm with #10. Fallen servicemen should be honored, but use of this story in campaign speeches looks self-serving.

Cops might as well wear blindfolds if the City Council passes a bill that would let them use little more than the color of a suspect’s clothing in descriptions — or risk being sued for profiling, according to this provocative new ad (pictured) from the NYPD captains union. The ad asks, “How effective is a police officer with a blindfold on?” And the answer is not very, says the NYPD Captains Endowment Association, which is fighting the measure, claiming it would handcuff cops and send crime rates soaring. The Senate voted down an amendment to the upper chamber´s immigration bill proposed by Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) that would require a full biometric visa tracking system placed at every land, sea, and air port of entry in the United States before legalized immigrants could receive green cards. The measure, which was also called for by the 9/11 Commission in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks, would establish a biometric exit-entry system. The immigration reform bill drawn up by the Senate Gang of 8 would boost the economy and lower the deficit, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office says in a report out today. The newly released, and highly anticipated, report from the government’s nonpartisan bookkeeper comes as the Senate debates the bipartisan immigration legislation offered by the Gang of 8 and the House moves forward on a more piecemeal approach. The report, “The Economic Impact of S. 744, the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act,” says overall the legislation

NEW YORK — The New York Police Department´s widespread spying programs directed at Muslims have undermined free worship by innocent people and should be declared unconstitutional, religious leaders and civil rights advocates said Tuesday after the filing of a federal lawsuit. "Our mosque should be an open, religious and spiritual sanctuary, but NYPD spying has turned it into a place of suspicion and censorship," Hamid Hassan Raza, an imam named as a plaintiff, told a rally outside police headquarters shortly after the suit was filed in federal court in Brooklyn.

Mixed-race people are more likely to be considered black by conservatives, who are subconsciously attempting to “justify racial divisions,” said the authors of a new government-funded study. The report, originally released earlier this month, has begun attracting criticism from those who see political bias in the results. The study was conducted by graduate students and faculty in the psychology department of New York University. Researchers asked participants to look at pictures of mixed-race people and say whether they

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

The Obamas never miss an opportunity to mingle with the stars and during a two-day trip in Dublin, who better to have lunch with than iconic Irish rocker and philanthropist Bono? First Lady Michelle along with daughters Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11, started Tuesday with an hour-long visit to picturesque Glendalough in the Wicklow Mountains--but the two girls looked like they would have rather slept in at their luxury hotel. Glendalough is famous for its Medieval monastic settlement founded in the 6th century by St Kevin, the hermit priest. After appearing less than thrilled on Monday while viewing Medieval manuscripts
