| The 31-year-old singer was due to team up with the Oscar-winning director in the iconic film about a young performer who falls in love with an older fading star. The remake of the original 1937 romantic drama will still go ahead but the 'Single Ladies' hitmaker has dropped out due to scheduling issues. She said in a statement to E! News: 'I was looking forward to the production of A Star Is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood. 'For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but

Yea, right.
Agree with casting Stacey Dash. She's a woman who judges people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.
She would work well with Clint Eastwood!

Hmm. Clint's support for Romney had nothing to do with that. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Sorry but I don't beleive it's due to scheduling issues. It's all about Politics. Hey Clint! Call Stacy Dash.

Every version of this movie to date has been a stinker. I guess Eastwood wants a tough challenge.

Mm-hm. Definitely a scheduling difficulty.
If he wants to make a film with black actors, he's going to have a hard time casting it at this point. He should turn to another project and let those actors struggle for the handful of parts available from the loyal lefties.

This will be just as successful as The Wiz and the made-for-tv black Cinderella with the white evil stepmother. Maybe in this umpteenth remake, the nasty press agent can be the token evil white guy.
I am sick of Beyonce and others who are famous for being famous.

Got a better title for a movie that Bouncie (deliberate misspell) can choke in "A Star Will Fall. She can't act - her singing doesn't come close to Whitney Houston's and she is of the 1% who don't want to pay extra but pander to the 47% that take the dole.

I agree with the Stacy Dash replacment, but if you want a direct replacement for Bed/Bath/Beyoncé, an empty chair would be fitting.

Beyoncé uses autotune. Listen and watched her concert video at a store. It was so obvious. Whenever you see dancers jumping around on stage and the lights going on and off. It is just a show and not a concert.

IMF chief Christine Lagarde avoided immediate charges but was named an "assisted witness" after French prosecutors grilled her for two days over a state payout to a disgraced tycoon when she was finance minister. Lagarde was questioned for a total of 24 hours by prosecutors working for a court that probes cases of ministerial misconduct over her 2007 handling of a row that resulted in 400 million euros ($515 million) being paid to controversial business figure Bernard Tapie. "My status as assisted witness is not a surprise," she told reporters as she left the Paris courthouse late on Friday. Headline resplit for balance.

Senators may confirm Penny Pritzker next month to lead the Commerce Department, a top Senate Republican said after a drama-free hearing Thursday. Commerce Committee senators on both sides of the aisle largely shied away from the controversies surrounding the family of Chicago billionaire and Hyatt Hotel heiress Pritzker, despite GOP criticism centering on the use of subprime lending practices and offshore bank accounts. (Snip) The hearing was surprisingly cordial with questions ranging from cybersecurity to the National Weather Service to creating manufacturing jobs to fisheries. Only three questions, two from Thune, related to Pritzker’s family.

Raymond Maxwel --one of the four State Department officials disciplined over security lapses that led to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year -- is also a prolific poet. And he´s been publishing provocative verses since he was put on administrative leave December 18. Some of the poetry represents scathing commentary on the post-Benghazi fallout and implies that he feels like he´s been made a scapegoat. In "Trapped in a purgatory of their own deceit," Maxwell writes in part: "The web of lies they weave / gets tighter and tighter / in its deceit

Whatever else happens as a result of the multiple controversies that have engulfed the administration, one thing is clear: President Obama has failed to meet one of the most important goals he set out when he was first elected, which was to demonstrate that activist government could also be smart government. (Snip) As he put it then: “I think what you saw in this election was people saying, ‘Yes, we don’t want some big, bureaucratic, ever-expanding state. On the other hand, we don’t want a state that’s dysfunctional, that doesn’t believe in its mission, that can’t carry out

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. Marimow broke earlier this week. The memo’s a masterpiece, too. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience
