U.S. and Israel 'considering
joint aerial strike' against
Iran's nuclear facilities
using bombers and drones

Daily Mail (UK), by Eddie Wrenn

America and Israel are considering a joint surgical strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, it was claimed today. Foreign Policy magazine reported a source 'close to the discussions' and said the strike might compose primarily of bombers and drone support. The suggested attack is expected to last no more than a few days - or even just 'a couple of hours', the magazine said. Such a strike could be carried out without civilian casualties, and would set back the Iranian nuclear program by back many years. Benefits of such a strike would be regional, Foreign Policy says.

Well obama does need a wag the dog. Hope, unless it's entirely necessary, Bibi doesn't do it...

Obama needs this.
This is the 'wag the dog' Obama October surprise.

Obama will try to tip over the chess table.

The failure of the Obama weeks of lies about the deadly Benghazi debacle leaves Obama desperate.

And Congress will again be bypassed.

It's October.

FTA -- The source, said to be in favour of the strike, said the Israel-led assault would be 'transformative' and would end up 'saving Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, reanimating the peace process, securing the (Persian) Gulf, sending an unequivocal message to Russia and China, and assuring American ascendancy in the region for a decade to come.'

Now that's one magical strike. The source, code name plugs, forgot to mention the strike would take place the day before Obama's next debate.

Reply 7 - Posted by: Mass Minority, 10/9/2012 1:18:07 PM     (No. 8920792)

Warning to Bibi.

This is nothing more than an election ploy. Such a strike will not simply end the standoff. Iran has too many facilities dug in too deep for a single strike to significantly damage. Iran will most certainly retaliate.

If the attacks do result in an obama win expect absolutely no American support from November 7th forward.

In other words this administration will help you poke a rwalyy pointy stick into a very large hornets nest but once the hornets swarm forth, you're on your own.

You want to judge the sincerity of the Wons commitment? Schedule the raid for November 10th. Watch how the won reacts, if he is adamant it happen a week earlier, leave the room, you're being set up.

If Bibi is smart, he won't allow this to happen until AFTER the election.

Obama is NO friend to Israel.

Hopefully Bibi can hold out until after the election. I`m sure he`d feel better about the whole situation knowing Romney will be taking the helm.

Never gonna happen. If he plays this game, he will lose votes. The Islamic constituency (vital to Michigan) will stay home. The code-pink types will stay home, NoI will stay home, and the jew-hating, truther freaks that latched on to Ron Paul's campaign will stay home. This could cut out 20% of the votes for Obama and put California in play.

Obama must feel that this will help him in the Election.

Just noise. Such a raid wouldn't do much, and would be 95% US bombers. Unless we just lend a few to Israel for the month.

Any major action against Iran has to be as much about regime change as about nuke targets.

Hoping Bibi doesn't let Obama use him this way. Israel is fighting for it's life, not for Obama's reelection.

Reply 14 - Posted by: bobgray2, 10/9/2012 1:47:26 PM     (No. 8920875)

Israel would be better off doing it on their own. There would be a far better chance of it surprising Iran. Keeping the politics out of it is much more likely with no US involvement right now.

What #7 said. I don't think Netanyahu got where he is by being gullible, but I still pray. No Israeli should trust Obama. His actions speak very loudly -- he wants you gone.

I ask myself: "Would an attack on Iran before the election actually enhance Obama's re-election chances?" I find myself saying he's got nothing to lose right now........

Scares the *ell out of me....

Warning to the PM, it's October shenanigans. If you do it, the event will be exploited to get Obama re-elected and you will be on your own after Nov 6. Count on it.

This is based on an unnamed source 'close to the discussions'. It is being considered.

Not much for Bibi to entrust the existence of his country and the lives of its citizens.

While many (including me) think a joint strike might be the best approach to stop an Iranian bomb, beware the constraints that would be placed on Israel if it were to happen. Bibi would need a reliable partner in such a dangerous move - a partner far more reliable than NerØbama.

Reply 19 - Posted by: Blue-Z-Anna, 10/9/2012 2:34:50 PM     (No. 8920997)

The refueling logistics for Israeli bombers are troublesome. Barky's only play is creating a chaotic situation as a excuse to 'postpone' the elections until a better time.

Israel can't trust Barky but they see a Mormon Eagle Scout in the distance....riding over the hill.

I'd like to see Israel simply use their own Nukes because they will need to take out Iran's ability to retaliate as well as cripple their centrifuge farms.

There are newer and better Nukes waiting to replace the ones expended.

Big war---good.

Long war---bad.

Reply 20 - Posted by: mickturn, 10/9/2012 2:37:38 PM     (No. 8921005)

Simple, blow a huge hole below ground at the nuke facilities, then blow a path between the nearest water supply lake to the facility...let the water fill up the facility. If they try to pump the water out, blow up their electricity supply.

Another target will be the govt. leadership, the military and all weapons stockpiles. I'm sure the Israelies know where all of them are!

Reply 21 - Posted by: KTWO, 10/9/2012 2:46:33 PM     (No. 8921022)

May and up being the best alternative.
but Bib should refuse any joint action before the election. If you do it then do for military not political motives.

You don't have to erase underground facilities although that is the idea. If the facility cannot be entered or exited or supplied it may as well not exist.

But I don't see it as a one day or one week deal. Air superiority and surveillance to blast anything that moves or can even be seen near the facility would be needed for some time. Israel can't do it.

Reply 22 - Posted by: MtGardenerview, 10/9/2012 3:44:24 PM     (No. 8921150)

If this was really going to happen we would not be reading about it until a week after it happened.
Just more Obama BS
Another scenario is
Both parties secretly agree to attack, US launches its weapons and planes and at the most crucial minute Israel stands down and states we have no knowledge of this plan, asks what are you doing Obama?

A major tea party group is planning protests at Internal Revenue Services nationwide Tuesday following revelations earlier this month that the tax agency had flagged organizations with the words "tea party" or "patriot" for additional scrutiny. The protests were originally scheduled only for Cincinnati, where the IRS has said employees responsible for the targeting were based. But Tea Party Patriots head Jenny Beth Martin tells Whispers she received requests to protest across the country. President Obama will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in California on June 7-8, the White House announced Monday. It will be Mr. Obama’s first meeting with Mr. Xi since he became president of China in March. They previously met in Washington in 2011 when Mr. Xi was vice president. The talks come amid heightened U.S. tensions over cyberattacks reportedly originating in China. But the Obama administration said it has been pleased with Beijing’s cooperation in trying to persuade North Korea to reduce its belligerent military actions this spring.

The Indiana attorney general’s office confirmed Monday it is investigating a security breach in which Social Security numbers and other personal information were posted online for roughly 44,000 low-income Americans who applied for a federal program that provides discount Internet and phone service. The program was nicknamed the “Obamaphone” during the 2012 election, though it actually started long before President Obama took office. Indiana reportedly has the highest number of applicants, roughly 17,400, who were signed up by TerraCom Inc. and the affiliated YourTel America Inc. Applicants from at least 26 states were exposed to the security breach,

WASHINGTON- Apple Inc. has used an elaborate web of offshore subsidiaries to avoid paying billions of dollars in U.S. taxes on $44 billion in foreign income over the past four years, a Senate investigation has found. Many of the tactics, such as cost-sharing arrangements, are common among large multinational corporations seeking to shift profits to countries with lower tax rates. The investigation did not find Apple violated any laws. But three of its subsidiaries in Ireland claim to have no responsibility to pay income taxes to any country, according to a 40-page, bipartisan report released Monday

Monday afternoon, ABC News released a chilling report that details what journalists have faced while trying to get some answers from the Cincinnati IRS office, which is where a majority of the Tea Party targeting took place. According to ABC, an "armed uniform police officer with the Federal Protective Service" "escorted" reporters through the public building. ABC says if the intent wasn´t to "scare off" employees who might talk, "it was the effect." ABC News is also hearing conflicting reports from Cincinnati IRS employees and the IRS Headquarters in Washington.

CINCINNATI- Few workers know the IRS Cincinnati office better than Bonnie Esrig, who worked there for 24 years. She retired from her job as a senior manager in January. Esrig said she did not recall any discussion of politics in the office. "Politics and religion were things people generally didn´t talk about at work," she said. Esrig did not work on political cases and was not connected to the applications at the center of the controversy. But she worked in the same office where fewer than 200 people were dealing with 73,000 applications for exemptions last year.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.
