| CBS News Foreign Correspondent Lara Logan, who was sexually assaulted in Egypt during the Arab Spring and overthrowing of then President Hosni Mubarak, shredded the Obama administration and Islamist "apologists" in a recent speech for claims Al Qaeda is weakened. Logan made clear the War on Terror isn't in a downslide and said Islamists are as strong as ever with a willingness to attack Americans. Eleven years later, “they” still hate us, now more than ever, Logan told the crowd. The Taliban and al-Qaida have not been vanquished, she added. They’re coming back.

Wherever ms Logan stands politically is not my concern, after what she survived she should speak out and often.

Ms. Logan has been to the worst parts of the war in Afghanistan. She's got more guts than any reporter I've ever seen. Her perspective has nothing to do with what happened in Egypt. She's also very respectful and loyal to our troops. This is her interview with Medal of Honor recipient Staff Sgt. Sal Giunta -

This is a brave woman. Not only because of what she went through, but going against the MSM meme of Osama is dead and GM is alive, and all is well in the world. About time someone tells the truth about "them" hating us more than ever. I thank you, Ms. Logan.

Lara Logan has the cred to say this. She has been in the war zones.
Making Al Qaeda disappear rhetorically, if not in fact, is a major part of Obama's political and reelection strategy. Think, 'man caused disaster' and the angry movie critic mobs in Benghanzi. Lara must know this and is showing courage to speak outside the cramped confines of the usual liberal bubble JournoListism. Any honest reporter, who bucks the usual partyline political liberal news, is a treasure.

Up until the incidence in Egypt, according to Ms. Logan's own words, she had no idea that the muslim/islam people did not treat women well. No idea. When asked to explain, after ALL of her experience of being in muslim dominated areas during war time, how could she be unaware of their attitudes towards women, she reported that she had ALWAYS been in the company (up until egypt)of our military. And THAT explains everything.

Where Obama Went Wrong In The Gun Control Fight

In one of the toughest defeats of President Obama´s political career, the Senate this week sank a piece of gun control legislation that the White House had been laboring over for months. As the post-mortems of the loss begin, some have questioned if gun control got bogged down with the president´s ongoing struggle to effectively operate the levers of power in Washington. Culprits for the bill´s demise are plenty — from gutless Senate moderates, to inflexible pro-gun conservatives, to a brazen gun lobby that waged an aggressive, and sometimes misleading, campaign to defeat the legislation.

I remember it so clearly — a memory you can only remember so clearly when it is from sadness. You can’t let it go. I was sitting in the mud by the rear passenger side tire of my old Acura cradling my one year old in the steady, driving rain. I was sobbing doing my best not to fall apart in front of my little girl. But the tears ran. My throat hurt as I tried to suppress the guttural cries I wanted to cry there in the mud.

Pat Toomey obviously isn´t flummoxed by basic arithmetic. The Republican Pennsylvania senator is proving that as he and Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., attempt to modestly modify requirements for criminal background checks on gun purchases. The two senators, both gun-rights advocates, are pushing legislation that would require such checks for all gun show and Internet sales. Toomey is being labeled a Judas in conservative circles for backing what is being described incorrectly as a gun control bill. It is not.

Kermit Gosnell, a Pennsylvania abortion doctor, is on trial for a lurid series of lurid crimes at his clinic. I can´t bring myself to describe them, so I´ll let Kirsten Powers do it. Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven´t heard about these sickening accusations? It´s not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, famous as the jurist who kept silent on the bench for seven years, has a lot to say. Thomas, on the court since 1991, visited Duquesne University on Tuesday afternoon and talked freely with law school Dean Ken Gormley and 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Thomas Hardiman (snip) Thomas, 64, known as one of the court´s most conservative justices, surprised some when he spoke of his sentiments as a young lawyer who voted for Hubert Humphrey and George McGovern

Five centuries before Christ, Sun Tzu wrote “The Art of War,” which teaches enduring principles of combat: Position troops so the enemy must face the sun. If an enemy leaves a door open, rush through. If outnumbered, retreat. The book by the ancient Chinese general and military strategist is well-known among those in the military and in the business world. Its underlying theme was the axiom, “All warfare is based on deception.” It is through this lens that Americans and others must view the situation with young North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

President Obama has built a reputation for going around the traditional White House press corps in favor of so-called soft media, taking his message to “The View”, ESPN and friendly local radio, among other general-entertainment outlets. Who can forget these hard-hitting questions Obama was asked by a New Mexico radio station last August: “What’s your favorite song to work out to?” “If you had a superpower, what would it be?” But senior Obama adviser Dan Pfeiffer scoffed at the suggestion that the White House is deliberately avoiding tough questions.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: You are the mantle of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

"Can you see in your mind´s eye a way that this might not have been political, that this was a misguided stupid way to sort, but that they didn´t intend it to be some kind of political attempt to harass the Tea Party?" So actually asked CNN´s Candy Crowley of her guest Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) concerning the Internal Revenue Service scandal Sunday (video follows with transcript and commentary):CANDY CROWLEY, HOST: Moving on to the IRS problem at this moment, which is really sort of in its infancy. There will be lots more hearings coming up this week

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
