| Mitt Romney's post-debate surge appears to have all but wiped out President Obama's once double-digit lead among women voters. A new Pew Research Center survey depicted a remarkable swing in the numbers, with Romney pulling even among women in polling late last week. In September, the same polling outfit showed Obama leading by 18 points among women. Among all likely voters surveyed, Romney climbed from an 8-point deficit last month to a 4-point lead. For months all we heard was Romney is toast, he is done stick a fork in him but now things are changing. I have to wonder if this a true turn around or has Romney actually been up in the polls along and now that we are getting close to the election they are being more truthful?

Agree with #1 ... I think at *the very least* Romney may have been tied with Obama at the beginning of the summer (not behind/toast), but now the pollsters have to start reporting the truth in order to semi-sorta-kinda save their reputation/credibility for future political campaigns.

I think it is a combination #1. The pollsters have been skewing their samples as we all know, and are finally entering the phase where their findings will hurt future business prospects if they turn out to be very inaccurate. So they're getting more realistic.
Plus as Rush pointed out, the debate was the first time a bunch of folks have seen anything of Romney apart from 30 second obummer political ads and "news" stories, which are essentially slightly longer obummer political ads. When they saw he was well spoken and confident, and not the ogre they were expecting, more than a few of them started realizing that there was a legitimate alternative to the current pResident.

My wife was going to vote for Romney anyway, but after the debate she was surprised how well he looked and sounded. She said she loves his voice and that he sounds like Reagan

Obama's problem is that he risks a wipeout when voters take a real look.

I didn't believe the polls when they showed a solid win for Obama and I don't believe them now. None of the pollsters are neutral, all of them have patrons who finance what they all do, and they all have an agenda. Still time to crawl to the polls and VOTE.

The White House on Tuesday threatened to veto a House bill designed to approve building the Keystone pipeline, saying President Obama should have final say over the controversial project to bring oil from Canada to the U.S. “Because [the bill] seeks to circumvent longstanding and proven processes for determining whether cross-border pipelines are in the national interest by removing the presidential permitting requirement for the Keystone XL pipeline project, if presented to the president, his senior advisors would recommend that he veto this bill,” the White House budget office said in a statement of policy.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
