Have Americans Finally Tired
of the Obama Narrative?

In the very best postmodern fashion, Obama and his supporters have relied on a narrative about Obama that has been carefully constructed. He’s brilliant, a great writer, a rare thinker, a moderate, a first-class temperament with neatly pressed pants, a uniter, a cool guy who’s unflappable. The first debate last Wednesday threatened to make that narrative seem absurd. You might say that the narrative got mugged by reality, and an awful lot of people were watching while it happened. But the next day there was a new narrative in place — or rather, several narratives:

Comments:
It's beginning to look that way. I hope it continues to a landslide defeate of 0bama on November Obama’s “make-believe greatness” perfectly describes that empty suit loser.

Many here were tired of this crap 4 years ago. Need to fix headline: Has the Damocrap Media Finally Tired of the Obama Hoax?---Much more accurate.

Reply 5 - Posted by: Teleologicus, 10/9/2012 9:50:28 AM     (No. 8919991)

Intellectuals in academia developed the narrative of the narrative as a tool to evade the truth and to reduce cognitive dissonance when fantasy and reality do not coincide. The narrative of the narrative allows adherents to believe pretty much anything they want to believe without the bumps, shocks and restraints of reality. The narrative of the narrative holds that terms such as truth, reality, evidence etc. are old-fashioned, arbitrary and even fascist. There is no truth, there is no reality, there are only narratives. This kind of reasoning goes better with a hit of weed or a couple of drinks, but perfectly sober people with high intelligence and advanced degrees are quite capable of asserting it with straight faces.

We should not do such obscuranist, nihilist language the honor of employing it, not even ironically. Instead of "the Obama narrative" it would be far better and more precise to refer to the Obama fraud. There was never anything "narrative" about it. It always was, and remains a complete fraud.

I've been tired of watching that Indonesian komodo chewing up America
from the very beginning. He just takes bites out of us, waiting for
our country to die.

Obama is a con-man, a very good one, supported by a complicit and activist media.

Week after week of lies from Obama about what happened in the deadly attack on our Ambassador in Benghazi tell you all you need to know about Obama if you choose to look.

We live in Eastern Iowa and both Mr. Cow and the Calf work in Illinois. All of us here have been aware of the Obummer long before he ran for even Senate. I have watched him lie his way through life for several years amazed that he was getting so far, but then again I listened to people complain about Blago for years then turn around and re-elect him. Believe me, I've been very active in the effort to get Barry and his boys out of the WH.

FTA: ""He's brilliant, a great writer, a rare thinker, a moderate, a first-class temperament with neatly pressed pants, a uniter, a cool guy who's unflappable."

The Real Obama Narrative: (1) Undocumented (2) Couldn't pass a basic background security clearance (3) Never held a regular private sector job (4) Zero military experience and (5) Never previously managed anything, to include a Burger King Drive-Thru Window.

As of today, libs hope is that obama grill Romney on specifics to fix these problems. But that won't work in obama's favor either. He's POTUS, and Romney is not applying for a job as consultant to fix obama's problems. Romney is applying for obama's job.

If obama goes on a fishing expedition looking for Romney solutions, will just prove to the entire country that obama has no ideas to fix anything, and has to go.

I am tired of being lied to. That narrative is excatly the opposite to what I have seen of Obama from day 1. I mean this is a joke right? He’s brilliant (not), a great writer(can't write sentence), a rare thinker(so true he never thinks), a moderate(flaming liberal), a first-class temperament(always acts stupidly) with neatly pressed pants(His wife wears the pants), a uniter(racical divider), a cool guy (an AH) who’s unflappable (except when confronted).

The fraudulent characterizations of Barack Obama in the first paragraph of this article sounds reminiscent of things said about Mao Zedong by the Chinese communists during the great Chinese Revolutions of the past century. I wonder if they both like apples?

Editor slipped on this one. Sentence in the article got missed.

FTA: "He’s brilliant, a great writer, a rare thinker, a moderate, a first-class temperament with neatly pressed pants, a uniter, a cool guy who’s unflappable."

Should read "He's a BS-artist, a ghosted writer, rarely thinks, a mocker, a first-class fool with nearly peerless ego, a whiner, a fake man who's unfamiliar with the truth."

Yeah...that's better.

Although White House Chief Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler claims to have learned about the IRS audit scandal only last month, she had three unprecedented one-on-one meetings last year with the Treasury Department’s chief lawyer, who has known about the inspector general’s investigation of the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of conservative nonprofits since at least June 2012. The Treasury lawyer in turn has a long history of extreme left-wing agitation. Christopher J. Meade, Treasury Chief Counsel, met with Ruemmler on September 27th, December 11th, and December 13th, 2012, according to White House Visitor Records requests.

President Barack Obama condemned “in the strongest terms the appalling attack" that killed an off-duty British soldier in a London suburb. “There can be absolutely no justification for such acts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim, the police and security services responding to this horrific act and the communities they serve, and the British people,” Obama said in a statement the White House released Thursday. Obama also reaffirmed the “special relationship” between the United States and the United Kingdom.

President Obama is using his national security address today to reject the "Global War on Terror." "Beyond Afghanistan, we must define our effort not as a boundless ‘global war on terror’ – but rather as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America. In many cases, this will involve partnerships with other countries. Thousands of Pakistani soldiers have lost their lives fighting extremists. President Barack Obama knows the dangers of not going far enough or fast enough to stop the climate crisis. History will celebrate his decision to lead us toward a clean energy economy that solves climate change and creates long-term, sustainable jobs for Americans. But achieving this awesome goal requires that we reject the TransCanada Corp.’s proposal to build the Keystone XL pipeline, which would cut through the heartland of America. This is a simple decision for a president who supports protecting our climate and creating jobs. Returning our economy to stable growth requires Americans to

What does a murderous jihadist terrorist have to do to get some recognition for his cause? You hack a British soldier to death in broad daylight on a London street while shouting “Allahu akbar” and then “swear by the almighty Allah” that you’ll never stop fighting, and the U.S. broadcast networks still can’t bring themselves to utter a word about Islam. True, the ABC CBS and NBC evening broadcasts called the attack “terrorism,” but for all the information they gave viewers, the attackers might have been Basque separatists or animal rights zealots. Republican Rep. Darrell Issa declared Thursday that the embattled IRS official who refused to testify Wednesday had no right to do so, and is now looking to haul her back before his committee. The chairman of the House oversight committee made the call after consulting with attorneys about IRS official Lois Lerner´s bizarre appearance before the panel on Wednesday. Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division which oversaw the controversial targeting of conservative groups, caused confusion Wednesday morning when she pleaded the Fifth and refused to answer questions -- but also delivered an opening statement in which

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
