Did Obama Just Throw
The Entire Election Away?

Daily Beast, by Andrew Sullivan

Original Article

The Pew poll is devastating, just devastating. Before the debate, Obama had a 51 - 43 lead; now, Romney has a 49 - 45 lead. That's a simply unprecedented reversal for a candidate in October. Before Obama had leads on every policy issue and personal characteristic; now Romney leads in almost all of them. Obama's performance gave Romney a 12 point swing! I repeat: a 12 point swing. Romney's favorables are above Obama's now. Yes, you read that right. Romney's favorables are higher than Obama's right now. That gender gap that was Obama's firewall? Over in one night:

Andrew Sullivan - poor guy - has his apron over his head. He just cannot BELIEVE his messiah can have bungled it this badly.

I won't be satisfied until I see a Romney sweep on 11/6. Anything less can be fiddled. Look what just happened in Venezuela...

Reply 9 - Posted by: Calvinesq, 10/8/2012 11:02:48 PM     (No. 8919343)

Oh, Andrew. Where is your empathy?

FTA: "Much, much more than Obama's vanity is at stake."

I feel so, so sorry for your own vanity. Yours and many liberals have their personal vanity at stake. You have been had, and we will no longer be had by you.

Reply 10 - Posted by: Shimp, 10/8/2012 11:11:46 PM     (No. 8919353)

I will now go out on a limb here: Romney/Ryan in a landslide, especially after Thursday nights debate. Oh, did I mention get the popcorn ready for that one?

When you lose the New Yorker Daily, Chris Matthews, F. Chuck Todd, the nyt's, and la times, you are cooked.

Unless he declares Marshll law, the Tea Party is going to do to him what we did in 2010.

Not saying don't go out and vote, we all need to! Just saying the numbers don't add up and time is growing nigh. I think obamster is tired of "leading" the country and wants all the perks an ex-president gets without all the hassle. He HATES the work!

I'd be interested in knowing just what Obama has done to improve Andrew's life, and how his re-election would matter one way or another.

I know. Gay marriage. It always comes down to that. But Geez...

To put it bluntly: yes.

But to be fair, was there really anything else that Obama could have been expected to do? He has failed America in every way, and has nothing positive to show for four years in office. Osama doesn't count. Hunting him was W's program.

FTA: "Obama still has an edge on Medicare, scores much higher on relating to ordinary people, is ahead on foreign policy..."

In the next debate, which is a townhall syle, Romney will have a chance to be conversational with the audience. Then the last one on foreign policy on the 24th. Romney will do a slice and dice of Obama on foreign policy, and by Halloween even ILLINOIS will be in play. If Sullivan thinks it's bad for Obama now, just stick around and pay attention.

I have an image of Mr. Sullivan in a bunker with a toothbrush mustache screaming 'Lies! Lies! Everything from Romney's mouth is a lie!' But when questioned as to what were the lies he offers no rebuttal, but throws his coat over his head an runs away. How can anybody take this guy seriously?

Remember when Andrew was a fiscal conservative and a war hawk? That was, until Bush came out in support of a marriage amendment. And Andy's transformation to hardcore liberal was complete when Barry entered the race. I wonder why? Where, by the way, is Andrew on the Libya debacle? You would think that he would show the same amount of emotion over the murder of our ambassador (and the mobs dragging his body through the streets) that he does over Obama's lackluster debate performance.

Dream on Sullivan, Zero never had such a lead, it was just the usual liberal publications and pollsters juggling the numbers and the people polled. Face it, the man is incompetent, lazy, an ideologue and a danger to the Republic. You bozos knew this and still sold him to the American people. Romney exposed him for what he is... a completely empty suit, so stop whimpering and change your diaper.

In his desperate attempt to rally the troops, Sullivan says that Romney and Ryan would amount to "We're back to Bush-Cheney, but more extreme."

The MSM continues to foist this notion that Obama is responsible for Romney's upturn. The truth is we all had an unvarnished look at Romney (w/o the extreme media bias clouding our perception) and guess what - Romney looks pretty good!

Romney won that debate because he was prepared, he was confident, and he was enthusiastic. He was much more dynamic than the Poser.

There were alot of AA (African Americans) voters. They were Bused in.

I had to fill out 2 sheets,on both it asked for your DL# or last 4 digits of SS#. Officials check it to see if they match, one AA bro was called out on it... that was reasuring.
I will go to my polling place in Nov. to see if it is recorded that I voted early.

#20...it isn't just Sullivan who is brainwashed into the "lie" business. Ask any Liberal precisely what the lie is and what document do they have, or can point to, to prove it is a lie? They can't do it. They just know "he lies" because some pathetic excuse of human excrement said so.

When you ask a people (as did Howard Stern and Jay Leno) who is President Obama's running mate and they answer Paul Ryan, or you ask who is running against Obama and they say McCain, you know this country is full of gullible ignorant people.

I think it would be fun to meet the mothers of those in the Media and ask them if they are proud of raising children who became communist traitors and to twist stories around and deliberately lie to the American People? Are you truly proud of what you raised?

One time conservative Sullivan makes a lot of sense until he gets into the lies meme. I guess the libs really believe in the meme.

Thank goodness we have scholars like Ann and Jonah and others to help us understand how undeveloped the minds of today's liberals are.

Having been born and raised in the NYC area, I moved to Florida as a relatively young man with family. I now consider myself a southerner, by the grace of God.

My wife and I are too upset for words by the NYr's, Ohioans and other Yankee types coming down here and "rearranging the furniture.". They came here to escape what happened to their native states, yet dare to tell us how it should be and how wrong we are. They brought their stinkin' politics and 'gimme' arogance with them. I would like to go to each of their homes on election day and use either a penny or a nail gun to lock them in. We don't need any more damage.

Reply 47 - Posted by: Bla Bla, 10/9/2012 3:23:30 PM     (No. 8921103)

What happened was:

1) the MEDIA (that would be you, Sullivan) could no longer only sound-bite Romney into the caricature they have been shamelessly pushing onto the public, &

2) the MEDIA could no longer sound-bite Obama into faux brilliance in sound bites to the public.

I said this before the debate. John Q. Public could see for him/herself the candidates as they really are for almost 2 blessed hours. If it weren't for debates (that really aren't debates, but, rather PR), the conservative side of the country would be completely screwed by YOUR profession, Sullivan. Truth is hard for you guys to take, I know. You'll probably find a way to stop televising the debates, too, next election.

Andrew Sullivan’s article summation:
Romney leads; Romney lies; Romney has highest turn around ever; Romney lies; propaganda, more lies; Obama has edge on Medicare, foreign policy, on being moderate, consistent, and honest (!); Romney lies; Obama threw in the towel – didn’t rebut; Romney lies; Obama too arrogant; Romney lies; President self-immolates on live TV; Romney lies.

Reader’s conclusion: Obama is a dismal failure; desperate supporters find nothing to support; have no strategy except to accuse opponent of ‘lies’ without backup. Romney prevailing. So sorry, Andrew.

Ole Andrew may be wetting his panties now --- but read between the lines. He is saying that the LEFT will do ANYTHING to help save Obama from himself. Everyone be warned! This means thermo-nuclear war from their side. They will now lie much more, cheat like they are going to be hanged tomorrow and Obama will bomb Iran before they lose.

Desperate people do desperate things when they are trapped and a wounded animal is much more dangerous than normal --- especially if you corner them in your barn!

#6, polls that over-sample democrats or republicans aren't necessarily wrong. The pollsters are well aware of it and adjust the results accordingly.

Nor is oversampling evidence of trying to manipulate the results. When pollsters call, they simply can't know ahead of time who's going to be home and who's not. Nor can they know who's going to hang up on them and who won't.

Funny how they told us that the debate was going to be meaningless and would change nothing. Turns out the debate was important after all because it was when millions of voters actually got to meet Romney for the first time outside of distorted Obama ads and biased news clips from the lamestreams. Seems people liked what they saw especially in comparison to the empty chair he debated against.

Richmond, Va.—Virginia´s activist conservative attorney general has won the Republican Party´s gubernatorial nomination by acclamation. The House voted to repeal ObamaCare on Thursday for the third time since Republicans took over the chamber in 2011. Only two Democrats sided with Republicans in the party-line 229-195 vote — Jim Matheson (Utah) and Mike McIntyre (N.C.). All Republicans voted in favor of repeal. This is the 37th time the House GOP has voted to repeal or defund at least part of the bill, but this latest bill will also not become law given Democrats´ control of the Senate. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
